RACINE - Racine's water has been named the best in the nation.
The U.S. Conference of Mayors awarded Racine the title of best tasting city water in America.
Mayor John Dickert picked up a $15,000 cash prize from a contest sponsor for his city.
Racine's water comes from Lake Michigan and is double-filtered.
Racine Water
Congratulations. An amazing feat when you consider all the poop that Milwaukee pumps into the lake.
ReplyDeleteThe water is very good here. I don't buy water. If you put it in a jar, put it in the refrigerator and let it sit, any chlorine taste evaporates. It beats most bottle water taste.
ReplyDeleteI think my friend, Monsieur Dickert, should put that $15,000 toward a new filtering system for the downtown splash pad so the drama doesn't return on that topic.
I thought I heard a reference to using the $$ for advertising Racine's good water.
ReplyDeleteGeeze, Kinda makes you want to flush the toilet with a little more respect next time.
ReplyDeleteA little Brandy takes the chlorine taste out of the water too KK.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to sell empty bottles and call it instant Belle City Water - just add water.
ReplyDeleteI hope no one pees in Lake Michigan or they will have to drain it!
ReplyDeleteBottled water tastes plasticy. Always keep a good chilled pitcher of tap water around.

ReplyDeleteKK I like that idea!!!
Why does he get the money, anyway? Did he do something to improve the taste of our water?
ReplyDeleteAs suggested elsewhere, I vote for him using the money to pay for his own defense against lawsuits instead of bilking the taxpayers again.
