Sorry, no. People like this and ""Real-Life Barbie Doll: Model Valeria Lukyanova"," have a mental disease. I don't know what it is, but I know sick when I see it.

On a broader subject, what is it with lip injections? Most of the movie stars and models who have had the procedure done look like fish.

"Don't know why, but I want one"

From The Lonely Libertarian :

Me want, too!  I'm an old VW fan.  I've owned a few beetles, but never a micro-bus.  I believe the old style VWs are still in production in other countries.

Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello, my Thanksgiving gobblers and giblets!  How are you?  Wasn't that heavy, wet snow the other day delightful?  I can hardly wait for winter to come.  And go!  Dump your load and get out of here so we can get back to normal lives.  Right now, "they" are saying rain for tomorrow and Friday.  That's better than the snow they were originally predicting, but it could still snarl up some traffic and soak Black Friday shoppers.  My main concern is holiday travelers.  Leave yourselves plenty of time to get where you're going.  And try, for once, driving a little slower.

I hope that nothing more slows down our beloved Green Bay Packers on their road to the Super Bowl..  They smashed the Minnesota Vikings this past Sunday. Now, they meet the Chicago Bears tomorrow (Thanksgiving) evening at home starting at 7:30 PM.  Don't eat so much food that you sleep through this one. The Packers and the Bears have a longstanding feud with each other.  Over what?  They don't know.  It doesn't matter; each team aspires to demolish the other.  Often Packers-Bears matches get very physical, very soon.  This promises to be either very good or very bad or both.  I hope that Ms. Tender Heart Bear doesn't mind watching her team get beat down.

Here are this week's standings in the Irregular Football League:

They haven;t changed since last week.  How irregular!

Thanksgiving is a time to take note of what you're grateful for.  Besides my life, I"m grateful for Junior,   Señor Zanza, my family, my friends, the JT Irregulars, and any soul that I've touched in any way.

I'm grateful for food to eat, a roof over my head, and clothes on my back.  I'm also grateful for cartoons:

Thank you to all my readers.  Irregular or not, you are why this blog is here.  You spread joy.  You share love.

When's the next big storm coming?  Ask MadameZoltar@jtirregulars.com

I wish for a very Happy Thanksgiving for all of my friends and not friends.  This is what family is for.  Enjoy your holiday.  Give thanks to the Lord.

"Opinion: Gratitude Has Nothing To Do With Glasses"

From Racine County Eye:

By Denise Lockwood in Community · November 24, 2015 · No comments

Credit - Eacine County Eye
"Gratitude is a funny thing. We often talk about it in the context of a glass being half full rather than half empty, and based on the level of that container’s fullness or lack there of, we sit… glass in hand… happy or sad.

"See, I think that’s where we the idea of gratitude wrong. I mean who among us hasn’t had our glass mysteriously emptied? Over my career I’ve met many people whose glasses were far from half full or half empty, and yet they persevered. I have often selfishly tucked their memories in the back of my mind. Most of these people didn’t know how much of an impact they had on me, but they did.

"So I thought I would share these stories with you.

"When Death Seems Like A Blessing

"Writing for the West Allis Star when, my editor Roger Bartel challenged us to find people who had overcome adversity. I met John from West Allis when he was a senior at Nathan Hale High School in 2007.

"John, who was 18-years-old, told me he wasn’t struggling to overcome anything, he was dying. And while many of his peers were just starting to build their lives, his life was ending because he had a rare and terminal disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I wrote about how he prepared for his death. He wanted an open casket during his funeral to make his mom happy, but wanted to be cremated in an urn the shape of a race car.

"He wanted his funeral to be a party with balloons, cake and music. His gratitude came in the form of the comfort he received in knowing that one day he would die and not be in pain anymore. But his attitude kept him grounded in the here and now. He spent the year doing what his body allowed him to, but one of the highlights was that he got to meet a race car driver. Almost a year later, John died at 18-years-old and his funeral was just that… a party.

"When Pain and Frustration Help You Take On The World

"After being laid off from the Kenosha News, I decided that I wanted to write about the mental health system. So many police reports reflected the shortcomings of our current mental health system and that’s how I met Brenda Wesley when I wrote about her sister Betty Cahn for the Milwaukee Magazine. The story solidified what I had always known about the mental health system in Milwaukee County, woefully inadequate but so many clung to the notion that it was better than nothing. At the time, the Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex received 12,000 people in crisis and 80 percent of them were turned away.

"'Because she’s not laid out on the floor overdosing on meds, and she hasn’t hit anyone or threatened to kill someone, they won’t take her to the complex or an emergency detention,' Brenda told me.

"Over the years, Brenda’s frustration with the system in trying to get her sister help eventually yielded to finding the strength and courage to write her own play called 'Pieces,' which aims to cut through the stigma around mental illness, and working with a number of police officers on crisis intervention training. These were her contributions to making the system better by helping the community understand what her family went through.

"If What Is Before You Doesn’t Serve You, Choose Another Path

"So you might wonder what these two stories have anything to do with gratitude. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that true gratitude is about acceptance of what is happening in your life, and realizing some of it may not be in your control. But with acceptance and gratitude you stop fighting what you can’t change and start taking on what you can.

"John couldn’t change that he was dying, but he could accept it and plan for it. He could also free his mind up for other things… like meeting a race car driver. For Brenda, she couldn’t save Betty from her mental illness but she could help the system become more empowered in how they treated people with mental illness.

"And those are lessons I think we can all learn from. But the truth about being a journalist is that stories change me all the time and that has always been something I am grateful for."

The JFK assassination was my first experience of a moment in time when you forever remember exactly where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news.  Too many more moments like those occurred.

I believe that the JFK assassination changed the world.

Four for Fridays!

Hello and welcome back to Four for Fridays. I hope everyone is ready for that nasty white stuff that is coming our way tonight and through tomorrow. After having my surgery back in August I am ready to see how the knee holds up for the winter that is why I made sure it was done before winter came.

Just to let everyone know there will not be any Four for Fridays next week we will not be home. Here are this weeks questions.

1) What are your plans for Thanksgiving this year?

2) Are you ready for the nasty cold weather with the nasty white stuff coming?

3) Do you shop more on the computer or do you go to the stores?

4) When you go grocery shopping do you take coupons with you?

Have a great day and try to stay warm!

I love Anonymous.

Life On Kitt Peak

Part of my job is escorting film crews on Kitt Peak. Last summer, I spent a couple of days with a crew doing a series called Unsung. Unsung looks at people behind the scenes who may not get all the glory but are vital to making things run smoothly.

They profiled Mike Hawes, facilities manager at Kitt Peak. The video is done and posted online so I thought I would share it with you. I think they did a nice job capturing what it takes to keep the mountain running. They were lucky since the secondary mirror of the 2.1 meter telescope was being recoated which gave them lots of good footage to shoot.

Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello, my soaked and soggy friends!  How are you?  I don't know if it will still be raining when this posts, but the national weather map shows a huge system from Canada to Mexico that is making it's way across the US.  Right now, Wisconsin is covered with rain.  It's kind of unpleasant, but thank God it isn't what they have in Colorado: the s-word. I'm dreaming of a white Thanksgiving.  No, not really.  I'm dreading it.  Let's hope there won't be wintry conditions for holiday travelers.

What's happened to our glorious Green Bay Packers?  They've lost three in a row now.  This Sunday, November 22. they meet the hated Minnesota Vikings in Minnesota at 3:25 pm.  Then, on Thanksgiving, they meet arch rivals the Chicago Bears. It's going to be a rough couple of weeks for our Green and Gold warriors.  C'mon guys, quit fooling around.  Crush your opponents.

Here are the standings for the Irregular Football League:

The Racine Irregulars are on top now, with The Mighty Bears and Half-Astrophysicists hot on their trail.  I don't even want to talk about my Screaming Psychics.  Oh my.

While generally I don't discuss at length political views here, I have to share this with you.  It's "old" news, but it's so wrong on so many levels that I feel compelled to say something.

The Des Moines Register ran this story:  "Scott Walker outlaws investigations into ... Scott Walker"

"Former presidential candidate Scott Walker and his friends in the Wisconsin state legislature have figured out a way to deal with bothersome, recurring investigations into political corruption.

"Rather than clean up their act, they have simply passed a law that makes it harder for prosecutors to launch such investigations.

"Walker, the Wisconsin governor who recently dropped out of the race for the GOP presidential nomination, has signed into state law a measure that restricts the use of so-called John Doe proceedings. These proceedings enable prosecutors to obtain search warrants and collect testimony as part of investigations that remain secret until charges are filed. Unlike secret grand jury proceedings, which are more costly, John Doe investigations are authorized by a judge, and it is a judge, rather than a jury, that hears the evidence.

"It’s telling that Walker and his cohorts aren't opposed to John Doe investigations aimed at violent criminals or drug dealers, which will still be permitted under the new law. All Walker & Co. did was prohibit John Doe investigations aimed at politicians and their appointees — i.e., themselves. They did this by barring any future probes into allegations of bribery, corruption and campaign-finance violations."

The audacity of Mr. Walker's actions is abominable.  Essentially, he and his staff have put themselves above the law.  Waaaaay above the law.  How is it that no one stands up to this bully?  It's sickening.  I hope our Mr. Mayor doesn't try this, but it's his speed.  Outlaw investigations into myself.  Why didn't I think of that?  Because I'm a caring human being, that's why.  I think that other people are my equals, not ATMs to plunder endlessly.

I've decided to place the dreaded Zoltar Curse™ on him.  This crap has GOT to stop.  When his wee-wee falls off, Mr. Governor may sing a different tune.

This Saturday, November 21, male strippers will appear at Memorial Hall for Racine's "Girls Night Out."  A memorial building built to honor those who fought and died for our freedoms is hardly the place for male strippers, but I've come to expect this sort of trash from the current city administration.  They have no sense of, or respect for, history.  Every time I see Mr. Mayor's face, I think of a used car salesman blaring his spiel on TV.  Slap another coat of paint on a car, put sawdust in the transmission and black pepper in the radiator. Then sell it, Johnny boy, for a huge commission.

Well, that's enough blabbing about politics.  Most politicians are born liars.  I hate their damned guts.  Oh dear.

But I love you and all the other readers of my blog.  Thank you for taking some time to read it.  I very much appreciate the audience. We are family.

How do stupid people advance in life?  Ask MadameZoltar@jtirregulars.com

Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello, my Chilly Willy, and otherwise, friends!  Many trees are now denuded of leaves while some stubborn ones hang on. Oak and Beech are known for this.  Sometimes, in the middle of winter, you'll look up and see an oak  hanging onto a mass of leaves, now snow covered and iced over.  That;s why oak wood costs more than most: density.  Oak wood is extremely strong because it takes forever to grow,  unlike the pine you'll find at most home improvement stores.  ( I remember when there still were lumber yards.)

We're supped to get a good soaking, especially tomorrow.  That's what "they" said.  Temperatures will continue to drop like leaves.  Or not.  When you work for a weather service, accuracy doesn't matter.  Ratings, yes.  Accuracy, who cares?

What the heck has become of the Green Bay Packers?  The Carolina Panthers de-pants them on national television.  How embarrassing.  The Packers have a chance to redeem themselves this Sunday, November 15, at noon, at home, against the Detroit Lions.

In the Irregular Football League, the standing are thus:

The Mighty Bears continue their tyranny of the league.

In real life, I scanned Google News looking for some good news,  Ha!

I don't have the stomach for it anymore.  First was an 8-year-old charged with beating a 1-year-old to death.  Then a 9-year-old murdered in an alley because of his father's gang affiliation. Then another one here.  Then there.  It just became too daunting and depressing to read the news.  A society that produces such monsters must be ill, or at least warped.

We've already lost a couple of generations, and it just gets worse and worse.  We may be at a turning point where we can decide where our society goes.  We send billions of dollars worth of military equipment. Then we send billions more in the form of "foreign aide."  How about Home Aide?  How about remembering where all those dollars come from?  Our pockets!  And we're sick of the government using us as ATMs.

Oh dear! I'm sorry.  I lost my temper. I shouldn't do that.  My blogs are for love and peace.  Anyone is inviting to take a read and make a comment, if so disposed.  We've built up a little of a family that way.

How much more can we stand of this? Ask MadameZoltar@jtirregulars.com

Watch out for the slippery leaves and slippery children.  The Racine Holiday Parade is downtown this Sunday.  Say hi to Santa for me and ask him when he's going to pay my bill.  I love you all.
