Question for Drew

Hope this is allowed.. I don't know any other way to contact him.

Message:
I have some old vinyl albums. Mostly rock. A few old ones from my Dad. Looking to get rid of them. (sell?) or giveaway if they aren't worth anything. My email address here isn't valid ( can't get it changed for some reason) Can be contacted on FB by either you or THB if interested in titles.
If you know anyone that would be looking if not you. I'm sure you have most every album ever made!

Or anyone else interested or know anyone.. I'm not fussy. Just don't want to dump a possible (lol) goldmine at Goodwill.

Sheriff.. you can delete if this is not allowed.. I will understand. Just trying to get the message to them.

"SCJ donates $1.5M to Gateway boot camp program"

From The Journal Times.com:

"RACINE — The Gateway Technical College Foundation received a $1.5 million grant from SC Johnson to underwrite the continuation of the Gateway to Careers Boot Camp program over the next three years, the college announced Friday.

"In 2012, SC Johnson made an initial investment of $1.7 million to advance the existing Boot Camp training program and fund Gateway’s expanded, state-of-the-art SCJ integrated Manufacturing and Engineering Technology Center, 2320 Renaissance Boulevard in Sturtevant.

"Gateway has relied on area companies to help identify the skills critical for entry-level positions. Using this information, Gateway has created Boot Camps that teach the skills people need to get good jobs in the community.

"Each Gateway Boot Camp offers an intensive, hands-on training environment that lasts from 14 to 20 weeks, depending on the training topic."

"City Council votes to move rail study forward"

From The Journal Times.com:

November 03, 2015 9:30 pm  •  CARA SPOTO cara.spoto@journaltimes.com(23) Comments

"RACINE — The city is on track to study the cost of extending Metra commuter rail service from Kenosha to Racine.

"Under a proposal approved 15-0 by the City Council Tuesday, the city would spend up to $30,000 from its intergovernmental revenue-sharing fund to hire a firm to complete the study. Funded by dollars Racine receives each year from neighboring communities via the sewer service agreement, the fund is intended to help Racine spark development within its borders"

Choo-choo!

It's funny how there's never enough money for anything, unless lying John wants to do it.

Actually, I think Racine would benefit from expansion of the rail line.  I'm old enough to remember the North Shore.

I hear their are two light rail locomotives sitting in France that Wisconsin paid for, but never had shipped because of Walker's refusal of government money to expand rail.

Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello, my half-priced Halloweenies!   How are you? Want to buy a pumpkin?  Ha-ha!

I would guess that this time of cooler weather is best for them.  And I suspect only a small percent of the crop is sold as Halloween pumpkins.  I think that most are used in food processing, like pumpkin pie filling.

The temperatures aren't supposed to  be too bad  today and tomorrow.  After that, you better get as close as you can to any heart source.  My source ( http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=KRAC ) says we'll soon be freezing our butts off. Or not.  The weather changes so rapidly here, but two thing is for sure. It will get coder and eventually it'll s-word.  P-tooie! Clean my mouth!

Another set of dirty words is "Green Bay Packers"  There's wailing, weeping and gnashing of teeth in Packerland, plus three attempted suicides.  The best way of washing that defeat  by the Denver Broncos out of our mouths is by beating the snot out of the Carolina Panthers, this Sunday, November 8, at noon, at Carolina.

Here's the current standings in the Irregular Football League:

Well, look at that.  I predicted that The Mighty Bears would fall.  Instead, they're on top of the heap.  I guess everybody makes mistakes some time.  Go, The Mighty Bears!  Don't go, the Chicago Bears!

Thank you my friends for reading my blog today.  I've had to cut it short because of time restraints.

I love each and every one of you.  Wet leaves are slippery.  Take care of yourselves and watch out for each other.

"According to the criminal complaint on November 1, 2015 Racine Police responded to a location for a report of child abuse. Upon arrival the officer made contact with the juvenile. The juvenile stated that she had been repeatedly struck with a plastic clothes hanger and her hair had been pulled by the suspect. Racine Police state there was bruising on the child and according to the complaint it was a result of being beaten a few days prior with a phone charger cord. Another juvenile had been struck with a clothes hanger for not bringing enough candy back from trick or treating.

"According to an adult family member the defendant has been reportedly beating the two minor children since had had been released from federal prison a year ago and told police that the defendant has been calling the residence all night looking for the juveniles stating that 'I’m going to beat the hell out of them when they get home', the complaint states.

"Chaos in the streets of Racine."

From Racine Community Media:

"CHAOS ON 6TH STREET AS PEOPLE RUN THROUGH THE STREETS BEING CHASED BY POLICE, AN INNOCENT WOMAN IS HIT BY A CAR, WHICH APPEARS TO BE THE SILVER CAR SEEN IN THE VIDEO.  (adult language)"

"Racine- This all happened on Friday night Oct. 30th in downtown Racine on 6th street around 1am. Residents are saying this is the norm as the downtown bars struggle to maintain order when their clients spill out onto the streets of downtown. Curiously enough, these are the same issues the City Of Racine used as reasons to shut down the black bars on 6th street, blaming their establishments for creating havoc in the streets, those bars are gone now, so who is responsible now?

"With innocent people being struck by cars and chaos in the streets, the question becomes, “What will the City Public Safety Committee do to keep residents safe?” If their actions on Kenny’s Bar in downtown are any indicator, they will do nothing and residents will be in continued danger when visiting downtown and 6th street.

"Stay alert Racine and stay safe, watch your back and look out for others, contact the Racine Police Department if you feel threatened or in danger in any way, stay safe Racine.

"No news following closed door talk on employee drug test failure"

Alderman Sandy Weidner
From The Journal Times.com:

October 29, 2015 7:26 pm  •

"RACINE — A city committee gathered this week to discuss concerns raised about pre-employment drug screenings and the city’s hiring process. But the closed door meeting appears to have yielded no tangible action or insight into the issue.

"Alderman Sandy Weidner initially brought the concern to the Finance and Personnel Committee about two weeks ago after receiving what appeared to be information showing a current city employee had failed a pre-employment drug test.

"Weidner said she, and reportedly others, had been anonymously mailed the results of the failed drug test.

"Weidner said her main concern was that if the information she received was accurate, aldermen had been asked to approve an appointment that flew in the face of the city’s pre-employment policies"

From The Journal Times.com:

"RACINE – Continuing its long legacy of investing in its hometown, SC Johnson on Saturday announced major contributions to aid public safety and literacy efforts in Racine and its suburbs.

"SC Johnson announced Saturday that it has committed to purchase a new bookmobile for the Racine Public Library, which is expected to cost an estimated $250,000, and will also provide its third annual $50,000 donation to support the library’s Battle of the Books, a literature contest for 4th- and 5th-grade students in Racine County.

"The company also said Saturday it has committed to support about 40 hours per week of additional officer presence for a six-year period at the Lakeside Community-Oriented Policing (COP) House in Mount Pleasant. Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello, my autumnal friends!  How are you?  As I write this, the wind is battering the windows facing east.  It's really howling out there.  And the National Weather Service says the rain could last into Thursday.  What are you going to do?  Grin and bear it.  Or frown and bear it, but, either way, you have to take it.  The weather's going to do what the weather's going to do, and there's not much we can do about it.

Our omnipotent and succinct Green Bay Packers have the pleasure of gelding the Denver Broncos this Sunday, November 1, at Denver, 7:30 PM.  Bye-bye balls!

Below are the current standings for the Irregular Football League:

My Screaming Psychics are still in third place.  My prediction: The Mighty Bears will fall.

Want to make a quick $30K?  Pretend to be an analyst for Mr. Mayor's proposed railway study to determine the feasibility of an extension of the Metra commuter train from Kenosha to Racine.  Just say that the expansion is the neatest thing since sliced bread.  That's what they'd be paying you for, anyway: a  positive reaction.  If I didn't have to service my other clients, I'd take the job myself.

Who called in the bomb threat to the Racine County Courthouse on Monday?  A disgruntled employee?  A gruntled one?  Was it a "test" by terrorists so they could observe our emergency preparedness?  Why not ask Madame Zoltar?  The police could save a lot of legwork if they asked me first.  Of course, I'm not cheap, just easy.

Finally, check out this bit of clown-foolery:

Life can make a clown out of you.  Trust me, I've been there.

Thank you all so much for reading my blog today.  I love you all.  Be sure to let a smile be your umbrella.

Who wrote the book of love?  Ask MadameZoltar@jtirregulars.com

Don't forget: wet leaves cam be as slippery as ice.  Drive accordingly.  Enjoy the waning days of a warm sun.  Soon enough our skies will be slate gray.
