SER, Never thought about It, but It makes alot of sense. Think about this. If Aluminum skyrockets In price, people will start cutting peoples boats up for scrap.

Wow Toad that is a good question, what the heck they steal siding off houses now. Road signs for a while was a big thing also.

They actually cut the copper tubing off of people central air conditioning units up here.

Same thing here, Toad. They just had an alert in the paper for catalytic converters. They'll take it right off your vehicle for the precious metals inside.

My friend had a Boston Whaler, but he sold it. Foam-filled fiberglass boat. He said you could cut that boat in half and the pieces would still float.

Having driven a few ski boats in my lifetime, I couldn't tell the difference in their speed.

SER, nice avatar. You taking on a new profession, or just picking up a few tips?

My parents had their aluminum canoe stolen from their yard. It was chained to a fence post in the back yard. The chain had been cut, so I'm guessing they were not looking for a joy ride down the Root River. I'm sure they got a pretty good amount of money for it.

KK, I think a little of both.

That's terrible, Why Not. I remember in my mom's old neighborhood that aluminum ladders started disappearing.

The scavengers hit our building's dumpster regularly. They hop right in and rummage through the garbage looking for cans, metal, etc.
