I have today off of work. Just going to relax because I have to work all weekend.

Like THB, I have the day off. Unlike her, I also have the weekend off. What to do, what to do. Actually I am off to get my hair cut. Have a great day everyone.

Happy Friday.

I hope your haircut turned out well, Mary.

I wish it would rain or clear up. I dislike this cloudiness.

today was a waste of a good day off. had my bi-annual visit to the Eye Institute at Froedtert, got my eyes dilated, just starting to regain focus... will have my new contacts in hopefully a week :)
hubby was on his cell with my mom when we walked out , I told him I couldn't see, and he took off walking like crazy, nincompoop! he called a few minutes later asking where I was. I was somewhere on the sidewalk, with my eyes closed, hood up, looked a site I"m sure... I stopped as soon as I had no idea where he had parked or was, what a goon, this is why people should not talk on their cell phones and drive, he has issues walking and talking, what a day...
NINCOMPOOP - the word of the day (actually have been using it frequently lately in many situations at work and beyond...

Wow, lizardmom, you go to the Eye Institute? Do you have special vision problems? I've only been there a couple of times to see specialists.

I hate getting my eyes dilated. Can't see a damn thing.

yup, since my contact saga began, nobody here in town could help, so they sent me there, I think this is the 3rd set we just ordered? and I make them last 2 years instead of 1, usually get yelled at because I do that , but for the price we have to pay for 2 single contacts (mind you it's for only one eye, as the other is a lost cause...), I can't justify doing this every year unless they are bothering me. I still have to wear glasses so this is definitely not a vanity thing, without that contact in, I would not be able to drive, yup, I'm a mess... but I can see better than most with one good eye than most can with 2 pretty good eyes :)
my 1st time wearing the contact, I was amazed at what I could see, like buds on the neighbors' tree, and not just the ones beside us but on the road facing up PAST the ones next to us, pretty awesome :)
I had double cataract surgeries in my 30's... steroids, ,keep you breathing but make you pay dearly for that perk of living...

I tried writing a check once after getting my eyes dilated; it didn't go well.
At least the "glasses" they give you are not those hideous things any more. Things that make you look old.

I like it when they dilate your eyes and then tell you to go look at/pick out a set of frames...

I've never had my eyes dilated. I guess it is time to see an eye doctor. One more thing to worry about.
