Racine health officials plead for people to stay home

RACINE, Wis. —
Health officials in Racine say the community isn't doing its part to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
Countywide, positive cases are nearing 600 with an increase of 235 cases in the past week.
In the city of Racine, hot spots are popping up, which is why the health department is pleading for people to stay home.

"Very simple, a lot of people are getting sick. They're getting sick quickly," Dottie-Kay Bowersox said.
Racine health officials said their number of positive COVID-19 cases keeps climbing every day.

"Do we have some hot spots here?" WISN 12 News reporter Hillary Mintz said.
"Well, Racine, we're a community of 78,000 (and) some change, and at the same point it is community spread," Bowersox said.
The health department said there are two big reasons the numbers are going up in the city: First, there's more testing and second, people are not staying home.

"From what you're seeing, you don't think the community is doing a good job staying at home?" Mintz asked.
"Well, I think there's a lot of area to be improved. Some of us are doing very well, and some of us are not," Bowersox said.
Downtown Racine on Thursday, WISN 12 News only saw a handful of people out, and only a few were wearing masks.
To date, the city has nearly 400 positive cases, and of those cases, 40% are Hispanic and 40% are African American.
In the past 10 days, there have been an additional 219 cases.

"There's been way too many calls, but we get several a day," Bowersox said.
Bowersox was referring to calls about businesses or people violating the governor's stay home order. The health department then works with police to get compliance and educate about the dangers of being out when you don't have to.
"You may be feeling really well, but that doesn't mean you can't pass the virus, or that you don't have the virus," Bowersox said.
The Racine County Health Department and National Guard will offer a free drive-thru testing clinic next week at Burlington High School.
It's open to those showing symptoms. No appointment is needed.

InSinkErator: 21st Street location shut down after two more COVID-19 cases

From Racine County Eye:

Company officials told employees that they could wear masks if they wanted to. Some did, some didn't, employees say.

by Denise Lockwood     May 7, 2020
RACINE, WI – Local manufacturer InSinkErator shut down its facility at 4700 21st Street at 2 p.m. Thursday after two more employees tested positive for COVID-19.
Missouri-based Emerson Electric Co. owns Racine-based InSinkErator. Considered an essential business because they make garbage-disposers, the company sells products to commercial and residential customers.
The company shut down the facility so that they could bring in cleaning crews.
Employees received a phone call from the company Thursday afternoon saying the facility at 4700 21st St. was being closed “effective immediately.”
In a written statement, Emerson spokesperson David Baldridge said the company remains focused on the health and safety of its employees.
“We have had two confirmed coronavirus cases this week at our InSinkErator 21st Street facility in Racine, Wisconsin. Out of an abundance of caution, the InSinkErator facility was temporarily closed Thursday afternoon, May 7, for deep cleaning and sanitizing of the entire plant by a professional cleaning service. The plant is expected to reopen Monday morning, May 11. All employees will receive pay based on their regularly scheduled hours.”
In April, two co-workers and a vendor had tested positive for the virus, which prompted some employees to voice concerns about the protocols being implemented by the company. Now the total is four employees and one vendor tested positive for COVID-19 (novel coronavirus).

YouTube Deletes Viral Video Claiming Dr. Fauci Spewing 'Absolute Propaganda' About COVID-19

From ZeroHedge:

One thing that should be abundantly clear by now is that any thoughts, opinions, or speculation which challenges the official narratives regarding COVID-19 will be promptly silenced by Silicon Valley, under the guise of protecting the public - which apparently can't be trusted to absorb information and form their own opinions.
The most recent example of censored wrongthink is a new documentary, Plandemic, which features former chronic fatigue researcher Judy Milkovits, who claims that Dr. Anthony Fauci - head of the  National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) - is spewing 'absolute propaganda' about COVID-19.
In the video, Mikovits claimed Fauci perpetrated propaganda that led to the deaths of millions of people in the past. She also raised questions about how COVID-19 deaths are being counted.
However, one of her biggest beefs against Fauci dates to the battles for credit over the discovery of HIV in the early 1980s.
In the video, Mikovits claimed she isolated HIV from the saliva and blood of patients in France but that Fauci was involved in delaying research so a friend could take credit, which allowed the HIV virus to spread. These claims are not proven. They were also disseminated in April by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Kennedy alleged on the Children’s Health Defense website (where he is chairman) -Heavy
Google's YouTube is currently playing whack-a-mole with a 25 minute promotional vignette for the documentary which has gone viral - deleting new versions seemingly as fast as they pop up. The original version had over 1.6 million views when it was censored.
Facebook, however, hasn't deleted it (yet):
As noted by Heavy's Jessica McBrideMikovits has a new book out, Plague of Corrpution, which currently has 4.5 / 5 stars on Amazon.
Mikovits, who has a new book out, was featured in the first vignette released to promote the movie. Her controversial career in the scientific community has been punctuated by an arrest, lawsuit, retracted research study, allegations against Fauci and clashes with the founders of the Whittemore Peterson Institute for Neuro-Immune Disease, which is located in Reno, Nevada. -Heavy
Mikovits has claimed that she published a "blockbuster" study which revealed that "the common use of animal and human fetal tissues were unleashing devastating plagues of chronic diseases," and that the "minions of Big Pharma" have been waging war against her to destroy her "good name, career and personal life."
In the Plandemic video, Mikovits makes other claims, including that patents are a conflict of interest, and she criticizes the concept of mass vaccines. “They will kill millions, as they already have with their vaccines,” she said, stressing she was not anti-vaccine. She claims there is a financial incentive in COVID-19 strategies to not use natural remedies in order to push people to use vaccines.
Mikovits co-wrote a book called Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases and claims 30% of vaccines are contaminated with retroviruses. The book contains a forward from Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The book was No. 2 on the Amazon bestseller list on May 6. -Heavy
Plandemic has received both praise and criticism, however Google thinks it's best if you leave the thinking to them.

Grisly video shows praying mantis eating brain of a murder hornet

From New York Post:

Praying may save us from murder hornets after all.
Wild video posted online shows a giant Asian hornet finally meeting its match: a brain-gobbling praying mantis.
The clip starts with the mantis completely still as its five eyes patiently watch the hornet — an insect that can grow to 2 inches long, is known to kill up to 50 people a year in Japan, and recently arrived in the US.
The mantis suddenly springs forward with its long, modified front legs, keeping a vise-like grip on the doomed hornet, which twists and tries to turn its head in feeble attempts to put up a fight.
The long-legged carnivore then starts pecking away at the hornet — eventually eating its head and brains.
“Thank you for this nightmare,” remarked one Twitter user of the video posted online, which had been viewed almost 160,000 times by Thursday morning.
The so-called murder hornets have struck terror after it emerged last week that they have reached the US, after sightings in Washington state.
Clips proving how devastating their sting is, as well as how easily they can kill larger animals like mice, only added to the nightmares.
But for many animals, praying mantises — of which there are over 1,000 species — are a major threat, too, with them devouring moths, crickets and grasshoppers as well as frogs, lizards, snakes and even birds.
They also chomp on their own kind, with adult females eating their mate just after — or even during — mating, National Geographic says.

‘There are rules in voting:’ With recount over, $1B Racine schools referendum to be challenged in court

From Fox6Now:

POSTED 4:40 PM, MAY 5, 2020, BY UPDATED AT 04:52PM, MAY 5, 2020

RACINE — The $1 billion Racine Unified School District (RUSD) referendum is being challenged again — this time in court. It passed by five votes on Election Day, then by just four in a recount.

George Meyers
“It’s gotten down to the luck of the draw,” said petitioner George Meyers on April 23, a day before the recount was completed.
Now, Meyers and members of the Honest, Open and Transparent (HOT) Government group say the recount was flawed and are appealing it in court.
“There are rules in voting, and they have to be followed, and in this particular case, I’m not so convinced that they were,” said Vincent Bobot, attorney for HOT Government.

Vincent Bobot
Absentee ballots made the recount tricky. When an issue with an envelope was found, the Board of Canvassers performed a drawdown — randomly selecting a ballot from that word and removing it to balance the count. The district says they followed the rules set by the state elections commission.
“Anytime that there was a question that we had or that the petitioners had, we made sure to reach out to the elections commission and ask, and follow their guidance on how to proceed,” Stacy Tapp, RUSD chief of communications and community engagement, said.

RUSD referendum recount
Racine Unified School DistrictThose appealing say the process has disenfranchised voters.
“You actually go into that pile, and pull out a ballot randomly,” said Bobot. “Whether it’s yes or no, it takes that away. It affects that group of votes.”

Stacy Tapp
The appeal also claims the absentee envelopes’ design made it tough to read the postmark, causing the ballot to be rejected, and that hundreds more should’ve been counted, but were also rejected. Still, the district stands by the recount.
“Like we’ve said before and during the recount, we trust the process, and we’re hopeful the results will be the same in the end,” Tapp said.
A scheduling hearing was set for Tuesday morning, May 5, but it did not happen. Those appealing requested a new judge to take the case.
Once that happens, another hearing will be scheduled.

The lying swine at Unified will do anything to get their hands on the dough, anything.
