Friday nights lost video

A friend of mine lost his wife this week to cancer. She leaves behind a nine year old son. Austin, this is for you:

Hush now dont cry
Wipe away the teardrop from your eye
Youre lying safe in bed
It was all a bad dream
Spinning in your head
Your mind tricked you to feel the pain
Of someone close to you leaving the game of life
So here it is, another chance
Wide awake you face the day
Your dream is over...or has it just begun?

Theres a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run to in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didnt realize it and you were scared
Its a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the tears
And ride the whims of your mind
Commanding in another world
Suddenly, you hear and see
This magic new dimension

Chorus
I-will be watching over you
I-am gonna help you see it through
I-will protect you in the night
I-am smiling next to you...in silent lucidity

If you open your mind for me
You wont rely on open eyes to see
The walls you built within
Come tumblng down, and a new world will begin
Living twice at once you learn
Youre safe from pain in the dream domain
A soul set free to fly
A round trip journey in your head
Master of illusion, can you realize
Your dreams alive, you can be the guide but...

I've always liked that song.
So sorry for your loss.

Another song that is good

Slaughter/ Fly to the angels

Pictures of you
They're still on my mind
You had the smile
That could light up the world
Now it rains
It seems the sun never shines
And I'll drive down
This lonely lonely road
Ooh I got this feelin'
Girl, I gotta let you go
'Cause now you've got to fly
Fly to the angels
Heavens awaits your heart
And flowers bloom in your name
oh oh oh oh oh!
You've got to fly
Fly to the angels
All the stars in the night
Shine in your name
You know it hurts me
Way deep inside
When I turn and look
And find that you're not there
I try to convince myself
That the pain, the pain
It's still not gone.
And still I drive down
This lonely lonely road
Ooh I got this feelin'
Girl, I gotta let you go
'but now you've got to fly
Fly to the angels
Heavens awaits your heart
And flowers bloom in your name
oh oh oh oh oh
You've got to fly
Fly to the angels
All the stars in the night
Shine in your name
ooh oh you know
you gotta fly!
ooh yeah!
and still I drive down
this lonely lonely road
ooh I got this feelin
oh, I cant let you go
but I know that you
got to fly
Fly to the angels
Heavens awaits your heart
And flowers bloom in your name
oh oh oh oh oh!
You've got to fly
Fly to the angels
All the stars in the sky
Shine in your name yeah
oh
ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh, baby
ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh, ooh yeah
ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh, I'm
gonna miss you, I'll miss you girl.

I too am sorry for your loss. Cancer does not discriminate; it strikes everyone at some point in their lives, either directly or though someone they love. My sympathies to her family, the husband and the child.

Stu,sorry for your loss. It hits me closer than you think.

Silent Lucidity is off of Queensryche's 1990 classic album,"Empire". Queensryche is one of my favorite metal bands ever. Unlike the other sex driven metal bands,Queensryche tackles subjects like their hometown, insanity, and social issues. And they play with a lot of talent, also.

I remember this song. Always liked it.
