A cure for the hang over.

Well from the "I learn something new every day dept"..........
I have never heard this one before and I thought I'd heard them all

Bitters and club soda?.......This also helps out with a sour stomach?........
WHO KNEW???????? NOT ME!

Anyone ever try this? Does it work? Does anyone have any other home cures?

I mean that REALLY work?

I did a lot of drinking in college, and I can tell you exactly how to not get a hangover. Before you go to bed you have to drink a lot of water and eat something like bread. Also, take a couple of aspirin. But the most important step is to NOT fall asleep while the room is still spinning. You've got to sober up a bit before you lay down and go to sleep. Sometimes that would mean that I couldn't go to sleep until 4 in the morning, but you're still better off the next day on only a few hours of sleep rather than being hung over. Boy, I was stupid in college.

Fruit punch Gatorade and an Aleve first thing in the morning will fix you right up. Your innards will be going "ahhh" while you are swearing that you will never do it again.

Oh boy...never knew....but does it work for wine?

I can't remember the last time a room was spinning for me!!!! But I have to ask, if the room is spinning, are you alert enough to remember not to pass out????

Beejay- I'm 30 years old now and I haven't drank so much that the room was spinning since college, thank goodness. But, I do remember that even though I was so drunk that the room spun, I was aware enough to know that I couldn't go to sleep yet. I guess too many mornings waking up with the headache from hell and puking my guts out left an impression on me that even in the most drunken state I was responsible enough not to replicate. LOL

You have to go out and find an OLD bartender that know how to make a Whiskey Sour Cocktail. That will cure the hangover. You can make it yourself.

1 oz Whiskey
Juice of 1 Lemon
1 tsp. powdered sugar

Blend with ice and strain into a small tulip glass. OH what a relief.

A pediatrician once recommended one of Grandma's Rx for a kids sore throat: 1 part whiskey
1 part honey
1 part lemon juice

Gamal Dansk is another good one for a cold. The bitters make it taste like crap but you sure get a good nights sleep.

We used to give the children a cup of tea with honey and a little dab of whiskey when they had a cold or sore throat and couldn't sleep. Worked like a charm. We called it medicine.

Oh boy, I forgot what 30 felt like, let alone college!

Some of these cures sound pretty wicked! I think I'll just dance it all off! Yep, that will work....

Abby:

Yes, It has to be in a tulip glass. The reason is, it doesn't amount to much. The glass has ABOUT half liquid, and half foam. I think it's a Danish thing. My dad would do it from time to time.

Not to worry ABBY, that feeling good is over rated anyhow.

A Bloody Mary and beer.

A shot of bitters does work, tastes t-e-r-r-i-b-l-e, that’s why you should stick with a Bloody Mary...

I love bitters! Especially the true herbal kind made with dandelion and burdock tinctures... stains your teeth a little yellow tho, but great for GI problems of all kinds:-)
