"Marijuana legislation gains momentum across the country"

So, what do you think? Personally, I favor legalization, and regulating it and taxing it, similar to what we do with alcohol.

I would be torn on the legalize/decriminalize line. I believe you would have to legalize to be able to tax it and fully regulate it.

Many of the decriminalization laws apply only to the possession of small amounts, not to the production. It is usually the production/distribution that leads to the violence associated with marijuana. I mean even if a marijuana user robbed a bank, it would be the world's slowest getaway!

Yes, decriminalization usually is for possession of small amounts.

The drug war in Mexico is blamed on U.S. demand. I don't know what percentage of drugs smuggled through are marijuana, but I suspect a lot. That could be grown here legally, taxed, regulated and sold.

If you had told me 40 years ago that weed would still be illegal today, I would have scoffed at you.
