YES I DID. I was first In line at their Grand Opening.
Are they even still around? I remember Kresge's in Elmwood plaza.
KK, NOPE, They closed up In 1997 They now focus all of their business on "Foot Locker" which they purchased. I guess the building In NY. Is still the the Woolworth Building.
Downtown Racine had a Woolworth's, right? And a Kresge's and a Neisner's. All next to each other. I think it was Neisner's with the basement that had model kits and supplies.
Kresge's served food, and so did one of the other ones, I think, but I can't remember which.
A kid could spend the better part of day in those dime stores.
I think Woolworths had a Soda Fountain in it downtown.
What about Ben Franklin 5 & 10? Lots of those in Chicago.
Jed, They still have a Ben Franklin store Ironwood, MI. Right on the main drag.
