"This Is A Nationwide Insurrection" - Ottawa Mayor Declares 'State Of Emergency' Amid Trucker Convoy 'Occupation'

Protesters continued to gather and demonstrate against COVID-19 vaccine mandates and restrictions in Canada’s capital on Feb. 6, marking the one week anniversary of the so-called "occupation."

“We are on day eight of this occupation. Our city is under siege. What we’re seeing is bigger than just a City of Ottawa problem. This is a nationwide insurrection. This is madness. We need a concrete plan to put an end to this,” said the chair of the board, Ottawa City Council member Diane Deans, at the beginning of the nearly two-hour-long virtual discussion.

Ottawa police chief Peter Sloly agreed with her portrayal of the situation, saying that local law enforcement was “never intended to deal with a city under siege,” and decried the lack of resources – and legal authority – to disperse the protest.

At one point, Deans wondered whether the city had legal grounds to declare an unlawful assembly and then a riot, in order to conduct mass arrests, instead of pursuing “one criminal charge at a time.”

“There are so many people out there engaged in a broader act of… mayhem, that we need to be able to bring it all under control,” she said.

“We can’t allow this kind of terrorism in our community to continue this way.”

Yes, in accordance with the narrative laid down from Trudeau's twitter feed, the establishment is now calling protesting truckers - terrorists!

And as a result of all that hysteria, The Epoch Times reports that Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson has declared a state of emergency due to the trucker protest that continues in the city’s downtown core.

In a brief statement, the city said the decision reflects the “serious danger and threat to the safety and security of residents posed by the ongoing demonstrations and highlights the need for support from other jurisdictions and levels of government. ”

“It also provides greater flexibility within the municipal administration to enable the City of Ottawa to manage business continuity for essential services for its residents and enables a more flexible procurement process, which could help purchase equipment required by frontline workers and first responders,” the city said in its statement.

Protest organizers say their demonstration is peaceful... apart from this terrible, awful, horrific, terroristic attack on a good, honest, local citizen who was just trying to cross the road...

The protest started as a demonstration by truckers against the federal government’s requirement for cross-border truck drivers to be vaccinated, but has since evolved into a large movement joined by people from across Canada to oppose different COVID-19 mandates and restrictions. Vehicle convoys came to Ottawa on Jan. 29, and many have stayed in the city, with trucks and other vehicles parked by Parliament Hill. Many protesters say they will remain until the mandates are lifted.

Sounds of honking horns can be heard throughout the day in the Parliament Hill area, which residents are complaining about.

Protest organizer Benjamin Dichter says people who are unhappy about the honking should be contacting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and ask him to lift COVID-19 mandates.

“To anybody who is annoyed, we apologize. Please call Justin Trudeau, his office, and get these mandates lifted, and we’re out of here,” Dichter said at a press conference in Ottawa on Feb. 6.

Trudeau has refused to meet with the protesters.

Tom Quiggin, who is helping the organizers with “protective intelligence,” said many people across Canada have lost their jobs, homes, and businesses as a result of COVID-19 mandates and restrictions, and they have grievances too, which is why they are protesting in the nation’s capital.

“Let’s remember most of Ottawa is government, huge number of civil servants here. They haven’t missed a paycheque. They’ve got pay raises, some of them have got back pay, most of them are working from home. Some of them who can’t work from home are just doing nothing and still getting paid,” Quiggin said at the press conference.

“So yes, it’s unfortunate that they feel bad about the horns, yes, it’s unfortunate they feel bad about the disruption, but the rest of the country is hurting.”

Daniel Bulford, a former RCMP officer who quit the force because of its vaccine mandate and is now helping the protest organizers, said his children don’t want to play hockey anymore because of the position his family has taken on vaccine issues, as they feel “isolated and alienated.”

“The people dealing with the honking, they’re not the only ones that are dealing with the impact of all these mandates,” Bulford said at the press conference.

On Covid

Podcast Interviews: Geopolitics & Empire, Red Ice TV

Here are my first two video podcast interviews, in which I discussed the origins of the global Covid outbreak, presenting my theory that it was the result of an American biowarfare attack against China (and Iran).

The first interview was on Geopolitics & Empire, currently available on Youtube, several other video hosting systems, and SoundCloud:

The second interview was on Red Ice TV, currently available on Rumble, Odysee and several other video hosting systems (embedded Livestream interview starts at around 1 minute 30 sec mark):

Some of the crucial points I emphasized in those podcast interviews are summarized in the following paragraphs, extracted from my long series of articles on this subject, which began in April 2020:

For example, in 2017 Trump brought in Robert Kadlec, who since the 1990s had been one of America’s leading biowarfare advocates. The following year in 2018 a mysterious viral epidemic hit China’s poultry industry and in 2019, another mysterious viral epidemic devastated China’s pork industry…

From the earliest days of the administration, leading Trump officials had regarded China as America’s most formidable geopolitical adversary, and orchestrated a policy of confrontation. Then from January to August 2019, Kadlec’s department ran the “Crimson Contagion” simulation exercise, involving the hypothetical outbreak of a dangerous respiratory viral disease in China, which eventually spreads into the United States, with the participants focusing on the necessary measures to control it in this country. As one of America’s foremost biowarfare experts, Kadlec had emphasized the unique effectiveness of bioweapons as far back as the late 1990s and we must commend him for his considerable prescience in having organized a major viral epidemic exercise in 2019 that was so remarkably similar to what actually began in the real world just a few months later.

EPA job training grants, Racine group gets $200K

From Fox6Now:

North Beach in Racine, Lake Michigan

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday announced the selection of a Wisconsin organization to receive a $200,000 grant for job training programs.

Great Lakes Community Conservation Corps, based in Racine, is one of 19 organizations nationwide to receive a grant, the awards totaling more than $3.7 million.

Job training and workforce development are part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to advance economic opportunities while delivering environmental justice to underserved communities, an EPA news release said.

"(This) presents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build a better America and that means new, good-paying jobs," said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan. "This program will directly impact people’s lives, boosting the environmental workforce while helping to transform communities that need it the most."

Funded through the EPA's Brownfields Job Training Program, the grants provide funding to organizations that are working to create a skilled workforce in communities where assessment, cleanup and preparation of brownfield sites for reuse activities are taking place.

Grant recipients were also located in Chicago as well as in Alaska, California, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Rather than filling local jobs with contractors from distant cities, the organizations that received grants provide training and offer residents of communities historically affected by environmental pollution, economic disinvestment and brownfields an opportunity to gain the skills and certifications needed to secure local environmental work in their communities.

The Revolt of the Imagination, Part One: Notes on Belbury Syndrome

Maybe it’s true that life really does imitate literature. Over the last week or so, certainly, a detail from one of my favorite works of imaginative fiction played out at least twice in the real world, with microphones live and cameras rolling. I’m thinking here first of German Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach, who promoted vaccine mandates with this bit of fascinating logic:  “No one will be vaccinated against their will; the vaccine mandates will simply lead people, ultimately, to accept voluntary vaccination.”  See if you can find a way to parse those words that makes sense of them. I can tell you already that it doesn’t help to read them in the original German.

Then there’s Jen Psaki, spokesflack-in-chief for poor bumbling Joe Biden. She was asked by a reporter at a recent presser about the people, and of course there are a great many of them, who are increasingly worried about the future of the United States under Biden’s inept leadership.  Her response? “My advice to everyone out there who’s frustrated, sad, angry, pissed off, feel those emotions, go to a kickboxing class, have a margarita.” For sheer crazed detachment from the world the rest of us inhabit, that’s hard to beat, especially when you recall that her boss campaigned saying he would, you know, fix the country’s problems. Maybe her words make more sense in German, or for that matter in pig Latin, but I doubt it.

What all this brings to mind, of course, is the climactic scene in C.S. Lewis’s tremendous fantasy That Hideous Strength. The villains of the piece, a collection of arrogant technocrats among whom Psaki and Lauterbach would fit in seamlessly, are gathered at their headquarters at Belbury for a banquet. What they don’t know is that their attempts to get control of certain supernatural forces have stirred up old strong magics from the Arthurian era, and Merlin—yes, that Merlin—is on the scene. The first spell he casts on them is the same one that made life so interesting for the construction crews at the Tower of Babel. While this is taking effect, and their speech is turning into the kind of absurdity we were just discussing, Merlin works his second spell, which makes good use of the well-stocked collection of experimental animals at the facility.  Some of these are decidedly large, fierce, and hungry. The survival rate for the villains—well, we don’t have to get into that; let’s just say the beasts go away well fed.

Wisconsin weed penalties, Evers vetoes increase

From Fox6Now:

Gov. Tony Evers on Friday vetoed a Republican-backed bill that would have increased the penalties for making or distributing marijuana through a process that creates a highly concentrated version of marijuana known as butane hash oil.

Evers supports full legalization of marijuana and said he objected to creating additional penalties for marijuana use, which he said would be "another step in the wrong direction."

The Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association was the only group that registered in support of the measure, which was backed by Republicans and opposed by Democrats. Supporters argued that stronger penalties were needed to combat the use of the product often known as hash oil or honey oil.

According to the Alcohol and Drug Foundation, the use of butane hash oil is not new but is gaining in popularity due to the wider legalization of marijuana. The extraction process is dangerous and often involves butane, an odorless gas that easily ignites.

The product created has a highly concentrated level of THC, the main active chemical in cannabis.

Long Funeral Homes, Short Life Insurers? Ex-Blackrock Fund Manager Discovers Disturbing Trends In Mortality

From ZeroHedge:

Tyler Durden's Photo
BY TYLER DURDEN
FRIDAY, FEB 04, 2022 - 12:10 PM

Four weeks ago, OneAmerica insurance company CEO Scott Davison revealed that they had witnessed 'the highest death rates in the history of this business - not just at OneAmerica' with a jump of '40% over what they were pre-pandemic.' Interestingly, Davison noted that the majority of deaths are not classified as due to Covid-19.

The implication to many was clear - that the Covid-19 vaccine is linked to the excess mortality, and months of vaccine injury reports were now spilling over to actuarial data - which is beginning to show, among other things, that younger, working-age people began dying in greater numbers as vaccine mandates hit - for a disease which primarily kills older, non-working age individuals. The counter argument, often presented without evidence, is that the increase is due to people who postponed elective surgeries and other medical treatments during the pandemic.

Ex-Blackrock fund manager Ed Dowd is in the former camp, and has spent the last month analyzing breadcrumbs associated with a rise in excess mortality vs. pre-pandemic levels. Given that we're now in the middle of earnings season, there are some pretty big crumbs rolling out of the insurance and funeral services industries which are beginning to paint a disturbing picture.

A few key observations:

  • Mortality worsened in 2021 vs. 2020 despite widespread vaccinations

  • A spike in Mortality among younger, working-age individuals coincided with vaccine mandates

  • The spike in younger deaths peaked in Q3 2021 when Covid deaths were extremely low (but rising into the end of September)

On Tuesday, financial insurance company Unum reported that their Life segment saw an increase of 9% in their ratio of payouts vs. premiums (Benefit ratio), a 17.4% increase in 2021 vs. 2020 despite widespread vaccinations, and a 13.3% increase over 2019.

On Wednesday, Dowd noted that funeral home company Carriage Services saw a 28% increase in September 2021 vs. 2020, and a 13% increase in August vs. the same period. Funerals and cremations are up 12% and 13% respectively on the quarter.

In general, funeral homes saw an uptick in business in Q3, and Dowd will be closely monitoring Q4 reports which are expected around Feb. 15 - less than two weeks away.

Dowd also noted on Wednesday that Lincoln National's death claims are up 13.7% y/y, and up 57% in Q4 vs. 2019. CFO Randy Frietag explained on Thursday that in 2021, the share of young people dying from Covid doubled in the second half of the year.

Meanwhile, Reinsurance Group of America noted in their Thursday earnings call that Q4 was impacted by a meaningful level of Covid-19 mortality claims despite the fact that the Covid-19 vaccines have been around for more than a year.
