The "Other" site stirs up the hate... again

The newspaper has been covering the story about the LGBT center that was recently approved. Now, I'm not posting this to talk about right or wrong. But as a former (and now reformed) poster there, the first thing that struck me about their coverage was the BLATANT slant. Covering the story is one thing, posting a second story specifically to name who voted against it was a horrible break in journalistic impartiality. And I can see no reason other than to stir the pot and get... what we see in the comments section.

RACINE JOURNAL TIMES - you cannot expect readers and posters to play nice when you pull this s***. This story could easily have been condensed to two lines in your original story, but you chose to make your opinion known on the front page of your website and probably your paper.

Why don't you just change the headline to read "4 Homophobes Vote to Deny Rights to Gays." I think that's the whole purpose of your story. So much for not passing judgement.

Okay, I'm done venting at the class-less newspaper in Racine. I'll fade back to obscurity now.

JAK, it seems like they speak out of both sides of their mouth, doesn't it? They have established these stringent rules, and then try to get people to break those very rules with idiotic stuff like this.

JAK, don't fade too far into obscurity. You can vent it here, you can even say Shit here... ha ha. I agree, everything on that site seems to be slanted and full of hype. The JT is in big trouble financially. Maybe that is why some of what is taking place is happening there. I'm starting to believe that much of what they are doing is a desperate attempt to suck in more readers and boost sales. Or, most probably, they are morons!!!{{giggling}} They can't ban me from this site for using that word!

Oh, goodie, morons, morons, idiots, racists, stupid people. Oh, I feel much better.

You're right KK - and as long as they allow "anonymous" posters, we'll all be safe.
Yeah, I saw that :)

I was part of that group that was original posters, but then kinda slacked off, then picked it up again, now I'm just tired of it all. So I'll be around here I guess from now on.

Liz, let me know about one later in the spring when the threat of snow has abated...I'm not setting foot in WI until all that ugly stuff is gone. Last year, my windshield wash didn't thaw out until southern GA or Northern FL...can't remember which...I had to stop and toss snow on my windshield every so often on my trip back here.

motion carried, JAK is now a regular irregular, welcome to full time irregularity :)

JAK, I second the nomination. BTW, the pharmacist at Walgreen's can help you out with something for the irregularity side effects.

Welcome back aboard JAK! There is no place like home here at the JTI!

You cannot nominate someone to be irregular...irregularity comes from within.

Oh, I've already got it down. Everyone tells me that my thought process is irregular.

Beejay, I love the stopping & throwing snow on the windshield story. I've done it.

JAK, if you don't belong anywhere else, then you probably belong here.

I couldn’t handle reading an more about it on the JT site. There was/is enough fur flying there to weave an Indian blanket.

I also see the cloesd the Paul Weyrich story to comments and deleted everything that was posted. I saw it late yesterday before the comments disappeared and it started nasty from comment #1.
