Open Letter to the City Of Racine Common Council

Dear Aldermen,

The citizens of Racine have been put through enough. Becker's actions have put a stain on our community and particularly our elected officials, namely, YOU.

We need to decide who will be the next Mayor. Any appointment by the Council will be looked upon with derision from this community and will, no doubt, be remembered when your seat comes up for reelection.

Do the right thing. Let the voices of the community be heard!

This is gong to be interesting. I hope that all bloggers everywhere take names and kick butt. If any of Becker's toadies on the council start campaigning, they MUST be held accountable for their past actions and, more importantly, inactions. Any lies that his cronies spew now in an attempt to gain political traction must be confronted immediately.

I wonder how his buddies will try to distance themselves from him? "Yeah, see, going along with everything Becker proposed was all part of my secret plan to undermine him, yeah, that's what I was doing, yeah . . ." The council should tender their resignations en masse to the public, but most of them are cut from the same cloth as Becker - hubris to the point of self-delusion. I expect nothing from them but more of the same.

This is a golden opportunity for the city to move forward. They can get another empty suite like they just had, or get a mayor that will clean up the crime, attract industry and jobs, and stop the economic bleeding this city is going through. Unfortunately, there is only so much the mayor can do in town. The city needs a mayor that is willing to go to Madison to kick some legislative and gubernatorial ass to get the state to do their part.
