I Hate this @(*#*&@?! State

So now we get the privledge of paying sales tax on any digital downloads starting October 1. Games, ITunes, ringtones, etc. you name it, the State of Taxation will grab more of our money. I HATE THIS PLACE AND WISH MADISON WOULD SINK INTO THE LAKE. What's next Doylie, a tax on flatuations? How about making us pay for haircuts by the number of hairs that are cut? Is that fair?

I'm getting a PO box in another state and will use that as my address for ITunes. Screw the state and screw the govenor. I won't spend any more money in this blasted place then I have to, and I don't care if I single handily keep the economy in a recession.

Oh, and thanks to our grossly incompentant newspaper in Racine, most people here will never know about this. Good job JT, keep it up.

I read it on jsonline this morning. Unless you download tons of music, the amount per person will be minimal, with music and ringtones at about a buck each. (It would actually cost you more to keep a PO Box)

You are right, though. It doesn't end. More taxes on people when jobs are dwindling, people are already feeling the pinch. Did you see the new tax on cigarettes? I also read recently that the tax on gasoline is going to rise again too. Reduced use means less revenue for road repairs and the tax goes up to generate more money.

p.s. Don't give Doyle any more ideas. He might go for the number of hairs thing. He doesn't have than many to tax!

I've bought quite a bit of stuff online and I'm always pleased when the product's origins have nothing to do with Wisconsin, thus avoiding sales tax.

Taxes fueled the first revolution in this country. Will they fuel another?

That asshole, he has already driven industry out of Wisconsin along with many people, pretty soon we will be known as Illinois larges state park!

phffftt. Pretty soon there will be a tax on tax.

KK, yes, why all the new taxes when there are so many jobs lost in WI? It doesn't seem right. How about turning some lights off in the gov mansion? Have PB & J sammies instead of steak for some of their lunches?
*wink* yes the PB was a joke..... kinda. ;)

kinda reminds me of a skit on Howie Do It, Mandel.
He was acting as a sales clerk for an amusement park. Not only did they pay for the tickets but had to 'pay' for how many times they wanted to use the bathroom, and which 'duty' they would want to 'do'...
I hope that idea doesn't catch on either!

What I can never comprehend is how the Government can on the one hand, raise taxes and think that we will willingly take it, and it won't affect business in the state. Then they turn around and create a TIF to give special taxation rules to entice business into the state. Which is it, it can't be both ways. Either lower taxes help business decide to locate here or they don't.
Doyle is the king DBag in this state. His painful cuts really don't hurt anyone that will likely vote for him next time around do they?

People vote with their feet. Why do you think the population in Racine is shrinking? If the tax burden goes up, people who are able will move somewhere else, and others will not come here. For example, if I want to open a restaurant, I could as easily do it in North Carolina as I could in Wisconsin.

AA you're right. Beejay is in Florida with the crazies, snakes, and mice (lucky her). Our youngest in done in high school in 3 years. The lakes, climate, and taxes in Tennessee didn't look too bad.
