I See GREEN!

Daylilies beginning to emerge after winter, up against my building's foundation (where it's warm), on the west side.

Woo-hoo!

It's only March Orbs. They'll get buried with 5 inches of snow at least one more time.

I was pretty excited when I saw a few robins down here and then I read that Oklahoma is where they migrate to in the winter. Bummed me out.
However, I can say this, the trees are starting to blossom. I was pretty happy with that until I saw ants in the bathroom. I guess we take the good with the bad.

Orbs, that was the most beautiful picture I have seen in a very long time. Thank you for sharing, a little good news like that really warms my heart after a very rough day. truly thank you for sharing, I really needed that.

You're welcome, Why Not. I always get excited by the first signs of spring. My mother used to live in a brick house with southern exposure, and she has a green thumb. Things always sprouted early there. Sometimes I would have to cut her grass in March, never until late April anywhere else.

I know, logjam, I know, but snow actually is a good insulator (think igloo) and would protect the emerging shoots from a deep freeze. Ma Nature did a wonderful job when she designed this system.

Why Not, I saw that Norway had so much snow that they were dumping it into the ocean. Were you hit hard this winter?

I love to see things poking up through the ground in the spring. Does give you hope. 60 degrees today. It felt marvelous!

The snowbank finally receded enough for me to see the Lavender that I planted up against the house two years ago. I'm always excited when things come back and don't die off.

It is almost 10 pm and the temp here is 63...I think our spring is arriving. We are supposed to stay above 60 for a low during the next week, with highs in the low to mid 80's!

It was almost that warm here last night, Beejay, and it's supposed to be nice again today, but then things are supposed to return to "normal."

KK, We have more snow this year than the last few years but I can't say that it was terrible. I do enjoy the snow here only because it lightens things up a bit. It's otherwise very rainy and overcast and the sun doesnt like to shine. I haven't noticed anything popping up here yet, we usually get them a little earlier than you guys there, but nothing yet this year.. but there is still quite a bit of snow on the ground.. Ooo I'm looking forward to Spring. I'm also looking forward to getting back to Racine only about 5 weeks left, even though it will be difficult to leave my husband for 2 months... oj.. kinda off subject
