Rock and Roll Revival

Welcome back again ,to Rock and Roll Revival! Last week, Orbs commented on how U2's music had an affect on him. How it makes your hair stand up. I feel the same way about some of U2's music. Amazingly enough, U2 recently released a new album, No Line on the Horizion with critical aclaim. So naturally, I've been listening to a lot U2 lately, including their old stuff. One song in particular has been in my head all week long-Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses-from the Achtung Baby album. Now has anybody ever have a song ,sound, or melody stuck in their head? This happens to me all the time.

Drew, just reading that "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" was your pick made the hair on my arms rise - goosebumps. Almost all of Achtung Baby does that to me.

Believe it or not, "Dreaming of You" by The Coral is still stuck in my head. It re-occurs every few days. It's not the subject matter, but something about that song is addictive - it's a very bouncy tune, I like saxophone, and I like the guy's voice.

Well as off this moment, I now have "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" stuck in my head, but I'm not complaining, I love that song.

Orbs, Achtung Baby is an awesome album! It's among the best I've ever heard. I think The Joshua Tree has a slight edge over Achtung. This song Running to a Stand Still sends shivers down my spine!

Barbara, I'm glad that you like that song!

U2 is a great. I like the Joshua Tree, lots of good music there.

My preferences in music differs so much. It depends on my mood, the time of day, where I am, who I am with.

I sat for awhile last night, thinking about a song to post. Couldn't narrow it down to anything specific. Spent a lot of time listening to some great stuff. That is what is good about these blogs, makes me dig out things I haven't listened to in awhile.

If you are in a mellow mood, or have had a stressful day, the new Coldplay album is amazing. Very soothing music. They can put together some sounds! You can hear their newest here... select those from the Viva la Vida album.

KK, I do have A Rush of Blood to the Head and X & Y that I burned from the library. The stuff I've heard from Viva la Vida is amazing. You're right though, they can put together some sounds!

BTW, they are comimg to Alpine Valley on July 25th.
