We spend millions of dollars on "studies" to find out why the babies of crack whores die young, but when someone murders their own child, no city official even blinks.
The laws need to change. I can probably get 5-10 for having more than the legal limit of pot but she only gets 3 years for allowing someone to abuse her children?

It is as if nothing makes sense anymore and there is no honesty or equity.
You can get fined for not wearing a seatbelt, smoking in a govt building, parking too close to the corner, but you can neglect your children or your pets or shit on your neighbors and nothing happens. Or you can be a habitual criminal and just not pay your fines.
Did you hear the complaining that is going on now because they want to force the police to include race in the data collected when they stop or question you? They said it would "cost too much." Please. It might cost the police to be more accountable in who they stop and what actions they take.
Don't get me started on Adriel White's case either.... a productive taxpaying citizen who had enough of unfair policing of the city and was frustrated, fed up and foolish enough to try to take the criminals on by himself. The high and mighty will say he was solely defending his property. I wholeheartedly disagree.
KK...I agree about the “cost too much”, yes that is total BS. I’m not sure but I thought that information was listed on your drivers license, if not it should be. Drivers license are what most people use for identification purposes so they have that information already.
Then I think, if you are breaking the law, does it really matter what color you are, you are in the wrong. So that sure as hell cannot be racial profiling.

From what I gathered from the report was: tracking the race issue was intended to quell the complaints of racial profiling in stopping and questioning people.
No, race is not listed on your license. Do you really think data collection would stop someone who is racist from pulling over more blacks than whites? There would be some, um, other explanation for it...

Huck...not really. If you look at my drivers license, I look like a Mexican and a lot of people think I am.
Now... taking bets that 'time served' will be taken into this. Doubt she'll serve 3 years. It's a shame that drug dealers and DUI face a harsher sentence than someone that knowingly allowed her children to be abused.

I cannot believe they are not collecting demographics on every stop.
The community complains certain ethnic groups are targeted. Police say they do not know what to do to curtail certain activities in the city, but no one is collecting information.
Items such as:
Reason for stop
....Moving Vehicle violation, i.e. speeding, DUI
....Vehicle equipment, i.e. burnt out light
....Suspicious looking, i.e. crime recently committed in area.
Location of stop
Time of stop
Length of time of stop
Quantity of persons questioned
Age(s) of person(s)
Gender of person(s)
Race of person(s)
Was it a vehicle stop
Was it a pedestrian stop
And very important
Results of stop
....Citation issued
....Taken into custody
....Warning issued
....No action taken
This may seem like a lot, but if you have a “check off sheet”, it would not take much time at all.
I believe with information like this, it will demonstrate there maybe a lack of police patrols in certain areas and other areas my not need as much. Officers could utilize their time more efficiently.
If you are not going to be pro-active, all you are going to do is “chase fires” all day.
