Where's Willie?

Can you find a person of color in Pete Selkowe's Racine Post picture of DRC's chair auction in downtown Racine yesterday?

Downtown Racine is situated in one of the poorest and most blighted areas of the city. Don't let that scare you, though, because DRC makes sure that no one who actually lives in the hood will come into contact with visitors to their beautiful downtown. It's good for us to have wealthy, racist outsiders lording over Racine's inner city. It's very, very good. Just ask the people who don't live there.

Party on!

why would a black person want to waste their time looking at a bunch of stupid chairs

You're not supposed to just look at them; you're supposed to buy them so that DRC can further insulate downtown from the lifelong Racine residents who live nearby.

Remember, our downtown is only "ours" for the white and wealthy. Everyone else, move along.

You know what else you didn't see? Poor old people (me). Ha Ha Were you there? BTW I am wearing my T-Shirt today....going Kayaking!

That's ignorant ranting orbs.

Sassa, no, I don't "do" downtown. Wait, I do not do downtown, do I?

I drive through a lot, though. Damned pedestrians and bump-outs keep getting in the way. I've discovered that if you can maintain a speed of 45 mph or higher, you can make all the green lights through downtown in either direction at any time of day.

twon, it's what I'm known for. I have my public to satisfy.

I don't think it is ignorant ranting. Where *are* the people of color? What is the racial makeup of Racine? It sure isn't represented in this picture. Walk through the schools. It is quite evident there.

What orbs points out is relevant. We are focusing on downtown improvement. Improvement for whom? Only part of the city? Only the elite?

It doesn't have to be solely a racial story here. Sassa is correct too, our focus is not on helping the majority of the citizens of Racine.

Hey Orbs...I found that out in 1984 when I would drive through downtown and at 45 mph you could make all the lights. LOL Also I think get-togethers are contidgent to interests of an ethnic group. I don't go to MLD days events But I am going to a free diabetes testing Tuesday. I'm for free stuff, and I am not for how down trodden Minorities (Majorities?) are. Also I was not interested in buying a chair. I cannot have one where I live...no patio. Also I often wonder why 'they' go to the beach. They are already tan and swimming is not in their genetics.

Whatever. Just stating the obvious. Everyone knows that people of color and poor people are not welcome in downtown Racine, the friendliest place on the planet. Just ask another real estate man (professional paid liar), Mayor Dickert. I get fed up with all the primp and spew from our city "leaders." Downtown Racine is such a monstrous effigy of imperialism that it would be burned to the ground by offended rioters in most cities, but Racine's inner-city "leaders" keep their constituents enslaved to welfare and crack, so whitey can stage all the odes to oppression downtown that the family company orders.

Party on!

Btw, had out of town friends here last year. We walked around the hood and downtown. All they marveled at were the stark contrasts between the privileged and the damned, separated by a couple of city blocks.

Party on, pigs!

When I was in New York we took a bus tour and the driver pointed out that 'Fifth Ave" (rich) was just around the corner from 'Harlem" (poor). I guess it happens everywhere. And I mean literally just around the corner.

"Sustainable growth" = looting and polluting Africa for the profit of wealthy white pigs.

are you drunk, man?

what does "looting and polluting Africa" have to do with downtown, I ask you?
You should never BWD, Orbs (blog while drunk); you sound a little loopy.

Sorry, cyndi, not drunk, but loopy, yes. I'm a loopy kind of guy.
