The Wheaton-Franciscan Brouhaha

Any thoughts? My doctor was one of the ones who left in the great purge of the late 90's. He signed up with Aurora, has been back in Racine for a long time, and I think he's great. Other healthcare professionals have said the same about him.

I haven't had a lot of personal experience with the local hospital: a couple of emergency room visits and the odd test. I've been satisfied. My mother, on the other hand, has had more experience with Wheaton-Franciscan, and some of it has not been pretty.

I'm glad that this is finally being talked about in public. Being the cynic that I am, I believe that W-F will do everything that they can to whitewash and minimize this, rather than take the opportunity to honestly and openly face the issues hindering them. I hope I'm wrong.

We haven't used WF in years. (except for the car accident when we didn't have a choice) Aurora all the way. Drs are at Aurora and any surgery would be scheduled at Aurora in Keno. It's really not that far away considering trying to drive through the city.

If you have to call an ambulance, you go to Wheaton-Franciscan-All Saint's-St. Mary's Medical. No choice.

It just took me an hour to read all of what was posted. Most of it, I've heard or witnessed first hand before, as a former employee, a patient, and one who spent many hours there caring for a relative and dealing with the monstrous mess from the billing department.

At my last doctor visit, even he could not keep his resentment to himself. Most of my visit he was distracted with hospital politics about when my next visit to him should be. It really made me uneasy and ready to look for a different doctor. I had no idea of the depth of what he was referring to.

What a mess Racine has going... Inept management in every major function of the city: politics, schools, unemployment and frightening health care.

Have you ever been in the Cardiac Care Center? Who ever okayed to build that needs to be kicked right in the pee pee.

Talk about a waste of floor space, it is unreal!

Do they really think if you walk into a big fancy ass building you are going to be cured? Another one of those...grrrrrr, I can’t even talk about it.
