Help me understand, I just don't get it!

OK, I feel officially old.
I see things that I just don't understand.
I still don't get the fascination with wearing something
compatible only to an unwanted creeper.
Fashion trends are beyond me at times.

Then today on my way on an errand for work, I saw the
most unusual vehicle, it's name - the CUBE.
Seriously?
If you have one and love it, can you explain it to me?

Back in school many years ago, when we pondered what
it would be like in the 2000's, we dreamed up flying cars
and without question AERODYNAMIC vehicles.

I don't understand why vehicles are being made in the shape of
boxes, and so NOT aerodynamic. A CUBE?

Maybe I'm just too old to get it but help me out here
this is just too backwards for me.
Am I the only one?

and this is not the 1st of the boxes on wheels, there are at least 4 other varieties, again, I don't get it!

My BIL has a very cube shaped car.. don't know if it's the cube or not.. could never stand to look at the thing that long.. One of the ugliest cars I've seen in my honest opinion.. but thank goodness we all have different tastes in things..

I think they are ugly! Who wants to drive around in a box? I can't imagine it being very comfortable inside.
Just goes to show..... people will buy anything!

It's hip to be a square? I think they are ugly too.

I guess they need to change things up. Look at ladies fashion... one year the style is short, the next year it is long, the year after that it is midi. Baggy, tight, the fashionistas want to keep us buying.

It's so you have to buy one to 'be in style'. Look at hem-lines on skirts..up then down then up, etc. Also look at the designs on cars..their 'fins', their front grill, their size. If you keep what you have someone will think you are not 'up with the times'. Same thing with cereal and beer.

Some are so square, I would think the Post Office could use them for delivery vans.

It depends. If I had a lot of stuff needing to be hauled, if I had a soccer team to transport, or was the car pool driver, they make a LOT of sense. The need to drive something cool is a learned vanity problem.

People that highly rate utility might think a box that offers head and leg room, can let you load that 32" TV as if you owned a van, and lets you take all of Jr's stuff to the college dorm makes a lot of sense.

Sure they re ugly, but you don't see the outside when you re sitting in it.
