Why Not? said...: It was a beautifully warm day here in Sweden.. a perfect sunny and warm but not too warm day.. I smell rain in the distance so we should have a wet night.. tomorrow is supposed to get warmer around 80 or so..

I have my eye surgery tomorrow so I don't know how much I will be able to sleep tonight.. Looking forward to getting it done.. hope all goes well..; July 19, 2010 at 2:44 PM

Sassa, you hold the alt key on your keyboard and push the number 1 key on the keypad. Let them both go and it produces the smiley. These are tiny here!

I was playing a bit too, drew. The possibilities appear to be endless.

Orbs, I usually use the copy/paste or insert special character method for symbols too.

As you can see, it took me awhile to figure out that alt+386 gives you the often used French àccent égû. (é)

I then went to google to see if I spelled egû correctly. As it is with anything, my thought was not original...

kkdither said...: Most likely scenario: are you using the keypad, not the keyboard numbers? Is your number lock on? Are you first pushing alt and holding it, then depressing your number selection and letting them both go at once?

Another possibility: from what I also understand, it could possibly be your default setting for font. (kind of doubt that one though, unless you made a change manually); July 20, 2010 at 11:31 AM
