First of all, I know that not everyone is a believer and I do not judge anyone because of it, its your choice....

Yesterday I went to a funeral and the preacher man was from Waukesha.

Everyone read or quoted Psalm 23 The LORD Is My Shepherd. Well after the reading this yahoo preacher man gave his own rendition of what Psalm 23 meant/means.

I do believe this is the first time in my life I wanted to yell at a preacher while he talking!

He referred to all of us, you, me, I mean everyone as sheep and sheep are the dumbest animals in the barnyard! That we cannot do a thing without being lead by someone!

I took offence to that, I may not be the sharpest tack in the box, but I am far from being the dumbest animal in the barnyard.

Okay, I got that off my chest!

Did Robinson Crusoe invent the word Friday?

You know it's funny you bring that up because I was talking to my husband about how The Lord is our Sheppard and we are his sheep... I was discussing that it is kinda offensive to refer to us as sheep and will just follow willy nilly.. I'm sure this was not the meaning of that, more that he is supposed to protect us from the elements but it's still offensive I find.

Ah, Waukesha, that explains it, SER!

I have been to several churches in the past and find it interesting that the same topic can be covered totally differently by each minister...and the last one just loved to tell us that we were going to Hell.....Golly...talk about coming out of church feeling up-lifted!

I make no excuses... I am not a fan of church, myself. I recently supported my niece by attending her confirmation. As we sat in the pews, the pastor told all of us to think of our sins, that God would forgive us. I grew up in the Catholic religion and am no stranger to the act of confession; it was something that I didn't believe in as a child. I believe we are responsible for all of our acts.

As the pastor concluded, it was stated that all of our sins were forgiven, we were cleansed and blessed.

It occurred to me that if, indeed, these people were cleansed of their sins weekly, why did they need to repeat this church going next week? Are those who attend church allowed to continue to sin as long as they partake in this weekly ritual?

When I was a child, I was told that your sins are not forgiven if you don't repent, and there was the stipulation that you don't repeat.

I was and am still confused. How many different sins are people committing? And do they believe that they will still go to heaven with their long laundry list?(Btw, I don't believe in that, either)

Years ago I walked out of the funeral of a woman I had once dated because of the preacher. My friend had never attended this church. She died and her family decided that this is where the funeral would be held. The preacher took the opportunity of her funeral to start proselytizing for his faith. His sermon had nothing to do with my friend, he didn't even know her. He just started belching fire and brimstone. I walked out. I sat in my truck and waited for someone I had given a ride to. I held my own little ceremony in my truck for my friend.

I have to tell someone about my problems..no one else gives a doo. I called my health ins to find an oral surgeon and who do I get but someone in MILAN. Jesus..told him I want to talk to someone in America. Find out no ins on extractions. On top of that I have to pay $810 for a 'cap' on one of two remaining teeth in that part of the mouth. You guessed it ..the other one has to be pulled. Told my kids to get ready to start chewing my food for me...LOL BTW have a nice day!

Aww, I feel for you, Sassa. Dental problems are very painful, and often very expensive.

Well, my mother in law, at the age of 95 (that is not a typo) just paid 950 out of pocket after her insurance for one (1) crown!

I keep wondering why the dentist would even suggest a crown for a 95-1/2 year old...why not a temporary...My temporary (and this was years ago) lasted six months before they could finish the work...I was, of course, about 20 lbs lighter...now, I wonder if I could try that course of action again???? Duh...
