What I woke up to this morning...

I'm sure you all have heard about the storm here in MN. Thought I would share a few pictures in case you guys forgot what snow looked like. ;)

DANG! I hate the looks of that! (even though the first snowfall can be pretty) I am sooo not ready to look out my window and see snow.

Did Mr. DA freeze his hand into a block of ice? ;> Please ask him, "How U doin" from me.... Is Minnie happy? Does she like the snow?

Oh I LOVE it when the snow clings to the trees. So beautiful.
How much snow did you get DA - or is it still snowing?
We are in the 50's and I'm okay with that.

kk, no that is a bag. Minnie was out decorating the fresh snow. LOL
He is doing good, and so is Minnie. She likes to eat the snow for some reason.
Mary, we got about 6" It's still snowing lightly. They said about another inch possible over night.
Minnie is very happy :D

My reaction is the same as kk's - I am not ready for that. It is pretty, but it also a major pain in the tookus to deal with. When Daylight Saving Time ends, it's like a switch is thrown and winter is officially on. Yuck!

P.S. Don't forget to make sure that your vehicle is prepared for winter. Get out the snow brushes and windshield scrapers. Put a shovel in the trunk, maybe also a bag of sand or salt. I loaded the winter weights into the back of my pickup the other day. Make sure your wiper blades are good and all lights are functioning. Check your battery connections and clean/tighten if necessary. Etc., etc.

P.P.S. Very nice photos, DA. I'd love to have tall spruce trees nearby.

It should snow just once during the year. Start at 1am Christmas day, stop at 8am. After a day of frolics, it should melt and the rest of the winter only rain is allowed to fall with periods of freezing afterwords. California spoiled me forever. No wonder they pay so much to live there.

Hey Orbs

I needed new wiper blades a few weeks ago. Went into Pep Boys and the gentleman there showed me two kinds; one made in China, one here in the USA. I naturally bought the USA ones and they are the best blades I've ever had. Cost was $32. The receipt says Profile blades but I don't know if that is the brand or what.

DA - I hope the snow quits soon.

Gorgeous pictures!! I wish I would have taken pictures of our snow here we had this last week. It's pretty much melted away now to a gray muddy mess.

I am one that usually hates the snow, but now with the girls getting so excited over it I found myself also getting excited it was snowing.. They say it is going to be a very rough winter, which I'm not looking forward to because last winter was terrible. We shall see..

Thanks for sharing the photos..

I'm with Huck here. My visit to California had me yearning for palm trees year round. Then again, I DO like the colored trees in the fall..

NO snow though...I can really do without it.

That's good advice, Orbs!

Check your tire pressure, too. (Don't forget the spare.) Pressure goes down with the temp.

I need new wiper blades. I usually buy Anco. I'll have to see where those are made.

Snow is great when you're a kid. We had tons of fun. I remember the smell of wet woolen mittens. Did we have more snow back then, or does it just seem that way because we were smaller?

We are still having highs right around 80 and lows in the high 50's. Pictures of snowy scenes are fine as far as I'm concerned. My last winter trip to WI was the year my husband died and I have no plans to do another one anytime soon...that cured me of any yearning for snow and cold!
