Just got the upload of all the pictures from the sheriff. They turned out great! Thanks froglover for letting me be #1. Hope you are having fun with your friend tonight! :)

Segundo.

Better to play second fiddle than never to have fiddled at all.

wow, I got here before she did? haha
yesterday was fun, so glad for a decent turn out and no torrential rains this year!

Sorry I missed it...don't know now if I will make it north at all. The person who 'offered' to Grandma sit, backed out and, oops, forgot to tell me. Our trip has been cancelled at this point.

Looks like you had a great time. Maybe next year.......

aww BeeJay, that is a shame.. I was looking forward to getting to see you again.. it will be a couple years on our end then, but such is life..

Beejay sorry to hear that was really looking forward to finally meeting you.

Looks like we all go on here before froglover today!♥

better late than never. I told you, KK.

Well, it means I don't get to see my family unless they come to see me. This care-giving is for the birds. Especially since this is not MY mother, but my late husband's. We'll see what I can arrange, but at this point, it doesn't look good.

Yeah... 8th
Is it just me? That picture of the cat on the pot just creeps me out. I think it was in a movie or something I saw where the guy goes in the bathroom with his newspaper to do his thing, and while sitting some creature, like a giant snake came up thru the toliet. Does this sound familar to anyone? Or maybe because I met SER yesterday, I now have his sense of humor. lol or maybe yikes!

Hmmm... I know my memory is not what it used to be...but... KK, I don't recall the "sheriff" taking pictures? Inquiring minds. lol

jed, it had to be the upside down overflow of blood to your head. Check your wallet, I guess you don't remember buying that round of drinks either, huh?

jedwis said...

KK, you're probably right, I did feel a little light-headed after the initiation thingy... but buy drinks, I think not, my wallet is like a vault. lol

jedwis,

but buy drinks, I think not, my wallet is like a vault. lol

Are you trying to say you are tighter then a nats ass stretched over a 55gal drum?

It was great to meet you!

Beejay said...

Jedlewis, you and SER in one room...oh my, what fun that would be!

jedwis said...

Beejay...first of all, I know these guys love you and miss you...please come back for a visit...second who is jedlewis? what am I some new microbrew?...third, I don't belong in the same room as SER. he is the "man", I was just happy to be in the same space as him for a couple hours and enjoy his company. You make it back north, you deserve the break and everyone wants to see you.

Good times.

Maybe catch you this fall if you don't go on a trip when I am there, Beejay!

Jed, I think that was one of the Porky movies.. I remember a scene like that (actually I think of it often whenever I use a public bathroom)

Beejay, do they have something like this where you live: http://www.adrc.racineco.com/?

They might not provide "babysitting," but they may know people who do it.

For everyone's info: mom is now in a private room in the rehab ward of an area nursing home. A very nice place. My neighbor spent time in the same place for rehab after hip replacement. I took him mail there almost daily. He liked the place.

Anyway, the plan is to get mom strong again so that she can live "independently" (with me or sis checking on her daily). She's almost completely blind now, but she has her apartment memorized. She also has LifeLine (which works very well, by the way), talking clocks, super large calendar, etc. The nursing home has a fantastic rehab area on the floor below mom's. Their specialists will assess mom, and, working with a doctor (who's working with her doctor), they'll set up physical therapy and rehab. We're hoping to see her back home in 10-14 days, if another crisis doesn't erupt. It's like living on an active volcano. :-P We'll see.

Damn, I need to check out that site myself...

I think I may have found someone to help me out. I told Grandma that she has to pay for this service (she is not happy about that...but I paid out several thousand dollars last year for folks to watch her.) She can well afford to pay for this herself. Anyway, the woman down the block has a daughter who is an unemployed CNA and is living with her for the time-being. Sounds like the perfect set up. She can go home during the day and just pop in periodically. She would, of course, spend the nights here.

Grandma has a lifeline, but refuses to use it. The only time it has been activated is when 'the girls' accidentally crushed it. LOL.

Thanks, guys. I'm hopefully we can get this set up for early September. Keep your fingers crossed.

Hale, you let me know when you're going to be in FL and I will make the time to see you! Dan, of course, will free up his schedule as well. Hugs to all of you.

When I arrive, there will be a shingdig at Beejay's house! Parteeeee Central!

I pray it all works out for the both of you. It would really be nice to meet both of you. I sounds real promising and I am praying it will be.

kkdither said...

Well, hey-di-ho! I was in need of some good news. Brightened my day! :D

Beejay, it does sound like a magnificent setup. Hope it all works for you. And Grandma *should* be footing the bill for this. Her family should be paying you for all the services you provide!

jedwis said...

Umm KK...Hey-di-ho?...Isn't that how you greet hookers in the hood on the street corner? I'm just asking? lol
