Septoria leaf blight

Ohhhhhh I got fungus among us. Went to Steins and got a spray. No blight is right for my victory garden. Bunches and bunches of tomatoes. I've been watering from the top but will from the bottom from now on.

I just pruned my sweet basil. It was forming flowers and I read that you're supposed to prune them off before they bloom to promote bushiness and having the taste turn less sweet. The African basil doesn't have that problem and the flower stalks are so pretty. The plain basil and oregano have accepted their transplanting and are growing vigorously. The COOLEST thing is the watermelon vine. Supposedly all I am supposed to see is a pretty plant as we're too far north. Well, I just saw a 3/4" ball of fruit. Even if it doesn't grow larger than a baseball, I'll be tickled. Still no love or flowers on the red bell pepper plant.

Dang, don't even mention the word blight around my tomatoes. 2 years ago, a late season blight took out all 9 of my plants, one at a time.

Yeah, water the roots only, and do it earlier in the day so that any wet leaves have time to dry off. They love the hot, humid sun, but they need moisture. One of my plants wilted because I waited too long to water. I don't think it's coming back. :-(

I have lots of tomatoes going; some are already decent sized. They are all still very green, no color showing, yet.

I also have had to dust my roses, as those shiny red beetles, who love the taste of the flowering heads, returned and began munching, much to the demise of the plants.

I just got back in from watering. Man, is it hot out there!
My basil is showing tiny blue/white flowers... I'll have to prune them back, I guess. I did see 2 of my chili peppers have gone from green to red. Maybe tomorrow I'll put a little tug on them. I've already dipped into the garlic chives and the parsley.

And all I got is plastic plant in a corner that needs dusting...

my tomatoes seem to be doing great, the one in the pot by the garage is long and lanky and keeps wanting to tilt... guess I need to get something for it to be supported by..
the ones in the upside down thing-a-ma jig are doing well too, lots of little tomatoes all over the place, all 4 are different varieties to see which one(s) we prefer for next year.
My cucumber is also doing super, TONS of flowers and a few decent starts to what I hope will be a great crop -
MMMMM home grown tomatoes and cucumbers, I'm going to be one very happy camper when they're ripe!!

serious question (please, nobody get insulted to ask) - has anybody ever tried the Chia herb garden thing? I need something I can grow in the house and not take up too much room, is that like fake gardening? I've thought about picking up a kit, input would be awesome :)

LM, I've never tried Chia anything, but an upstairs neighbor here has told me that she grows some herbs in containers in her apartment. And she has only northern exposure. So it can be done.
