Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello, my Do-Bees and Don’t-Bees!  How are you?  It’s supposed to warm up as the week wears on.  My veggie garden will appreciate that.  I’m already seeing some things shut down for fall.  That’s depressing.

Speaking of depressing, I’m so sorry that I missed last weekend’s get together.  At the last moment, Junior decided that he was going to go with Señor Zanza and me.  As we left the house, Junior tripped in our driveway and smacked his chin on the cement.  It bled like crazy.  I applied some of my Wound-B-Gon Ointment,™ filled a towel with ice cubes and held it against his chin.  I knew, though, that it would require stitches, at the least.  I was fearing a cracked or broken jaw, and/or damaged teeth.

It turned out that all that the wound required was six stitches.  X-rays of Junior’s head showed nothing.  (Tee-hee.)  While we were in the ER, I urged Señor Zanza to attend the get together “stag.”  I told him that I would join him there after Junior was bandaged up.  He said, “No, my place is here with you and your son.”  Oh my, such loyalty.  I swooned a little when I heard that.

The whole thing took 4 or 5 hours.  I understand that is not uncommon when the ER is busy.  So we missed the get together and Junior received a wound that he was showing off to his friends the next day.  On the way home from the hospital, though, Junior’s jaw was still full of the anesthetic they gave him in the ER.  His speech was slurred and he drooled constantly.  (Sounds like some of old my dates.  Oh dear.)  The towel that once held ice cubes was now his drool rag.  We’re not nasty enough to post a video of that on YouTube, but we are nasty enough to use it as a bargaining chip with Junior.  Whenever he disobeys me now, all I have to say is, “OK, I’ll upload that video, then.”  He becomes compliant immediately.

The campaigning for the fall elections is already in full swing.  I don’t mind the mailings so much as the robocalls.  Some leave a message, some don’t, but it’s always a number I don’t recognize and it’s never legitimately for just me.  The politicians excluded themselves from the national and state do-not-call registries.  They have no shame.  That, indeed, may be the secret to success in today’s politics.

The landing of Curiosity on Mars was a major technological achievement.  Bravo, NASA, bravo!  It’s good to have something to feel good about again.  If all goes as planned, this rover will be sending us data and photos for months.  It is stunning to think of all the work that had to be done to make this possible.  Thank you, NASA, thank you.

Thank you for reading my blog this week.  I love getting together like this.  It feels like home to me.  I hope you enjoy it. I love you all.

Enjoy the weather, my dears.  We’ve received a little rain so some things have greened up.  That’s nice.  Too little, too late, the farmers say.  That’s not so nice.  Macrophobia!

It is IRONIC that this will be the LAST CNC Bootcamp held in Racine - which Lying' John will speak at - and all future CNC Bootcamps will be held at the *New* Mt. Pleasant campus - where it's less taxing!!!

LOLOLOL!

Hospital time is unlike time anywhere else; it moves at its own rate. There have been many times I spent a lifetime in the ER.

Glad Junior is doing well. He'll have a great story and a scar to show and brag about with his friends. (And you have a little "motherism" you can use for those loving childhood moments of disobedience.)

We did miss you and Senor Zanza at the party, Madame. Kids have a way of changing the best laid plans. I heard your name mentioned by many irregulars, so we knew you with us in spirit.

Madame - I am so sorry for Junior but glad he is doing well. And I'm sure you had some special potions to help you with your nerves?

Mme Z...I missed the get together as well, had to go take some practice exams before the big one.

Here is my life long motto from one of my favorite shows...Romper Room.

"I always do what's right.
I never do anything wrong.
I'm a Romper Room Do Bee
A Do Bee all day long!"

Come to think of it, I still like Romper Room, only in a different way.lol
