Is Everybody sleeping in? LOL.

Residents of Racine - I would advise that you get a waiver of liability from Mayor John Dickert PRIOR to allowing Racine's first 24/7 mayor to travel with 2 women to the Democratic National Convention in Charolette N.C.

You know, to be safe and all - with this 24/7 Mayor - you simply never know when a taxpayer-funded moment of financial liability may come along...

Perhaps you could get an insurance policy.... against liability for the conduct, actions and words of the Mayor.... Just saying' and suggesting.

"RACINE — Three local people including Racine Mayor John Dickert will attend the Democratic National Convention in September, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin announced in a press release Friday.

Dickert, who has been Racine mayor since 2009, will attend along with Meg Andrietsch, of Mount Pleasant, and Beth Pramme, of Racine, according to the state Democratic Party."

Better to be safe than sorry, Racine.

At the airport. Off to another meeting...San Diego this time. Fortunately a short one. Come back Monday night but looking forward to cooler weather.

Remember that hot weather that hit the midwest down to Oklahoma a week or so ago? The high pressure system drifted west and parked over Arizona. Record setting hear here now. Fortunately I am not in Phoenix. That high pressure really traps pollution there and makes it hard to breathe and deadly hot.

well this is the last weekend that I am merely a stay at home mom and part time student I will now be a working mom and part time student.. I got a job at a local Herrgård (mansion) as a cleaner.. It's a conference local, hotel and a beautiful place to have weddings or go for a sauna or maybe even a boat ride on our lake.. I'm excited to work part time as it will be nice to get out of the house from time to time plus bring in a little extra income.. It will be strange to send the girls off to daycare for longer days (they have otherwise only gone for a couple hours a day a few days a week during the school year).. but it will only be a few days a week for about 20 hours.. Their website doesnt have much to offer in English but you can see a picture of the place

whats nice is that it's really close (walking distance) so I will be here if something would happen to the girls.. feels good.. have not worked so much here in Sweden, so it will be nice to add something to my resume here..

Congratulations on the new job, why not!. Do you get any perks or are able to partake in any amenities? It is always nice to have some dollars (kronos?) in your pocket that you earned yourself. It also gives you a separate sense of yourself.

Congrats and good luck on the new job, Why Not.

As someone else observed, if the office of mayor in Racine is nonpartisan, why is our mayor going to a political party's convention?

I'm not as gifted as Madame Zoltar, but looking into the toilet bowl, I foresee Dickert that scumbag piece of shit, wanting to run for Governor of Wisconsin

Property sales for the week have been posted:

Racine Home Values Continue to Plummet.

814 17th. St. sold for $13,000 and is the low price for the week. 842 Main St. – a commercial property – is assessed at $515,000 and sold for $170,000 for a difference of Neg. $345,000. Properties selling for under $50,000 – SEVEN of them.

Racine has serious problems – total Community value vs. debt determines credit ratings and future borrowing capability. Racine HAS to fudge numbers – John is borrowing heavily. There is coming a day when the accounting tricks and fudging will no longer work – I personally believe Racine going bankrupt is inevitable. Residents need to be aware of this financial situation and plan accordingly.

I highly recommend residents go to the City website, download the 2012 Budget, available on the home page. THEN, go to “Finance”, download and save the Capital Improvement Plan and Audited Budgets, then READ THEM. You may be shocked to find how deep the City is in debt and how much it intends to buy and finance in the future.
