I dislike the use of the internet to stalk or spy on people.  At the same time, I'm hopeful that the internet can be used as a tool for fighting crime.

I saw this new last night. Mixed feelings, myself. The problem is there are just too many people participating in illegal activities. No jobs = higher crime. Is this just another way for the people in charge to say, "We're ineffective, let's hope the public can do our job?"

History will teach you where they are going with this.

Anything to help keep crime down....crime flourishes on the web, so why not use it to fight crime?
commit the crime and do the time.
Yay Cops!Get em and lock em up.
It is a tool to make them more effective. It's there...use it.

Talk about history, be careful of the "Anschluss" between the police dept and any media. Our current media is weak , bias, corrupt and inept.

Today the Journal Times has an editorial entitled "Who will watch the watchers?" It's about the NSA, but you can ask the same question locally.
