MOUNT PLEASANT — The Racine Social Security office has moved from Durand Avenue to the Mount Pleasant Commerce Center.
On May 12, the new office opened at 13200 Globe Drive, Suite 208.
The office at 4020 Durand Ave. closed May 9.
The U.S. General Services Administration on Thursday announced it was offering the former Durand Avenue site for sale by public auction. The auction opened Monday at 2 p.m. with a starting bid of $100,000.
It was not immediately clear why the office moved locations or why the Durand building is being sold.
