Missing Gingerbread Man: Waukesha students search, sightings reported

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Kindergarten students at Hawthorne Elementary in Waukesha were using the different versions of the "Gingerbread Man" fairytale to learn about how to compare and contrast characters. The class even baked their own gingerbread man as part of the lesson – but then he mysteriously disappeared. The Gingerbread Man has now been spotted all over the country – and world!
Once upon a time a kindergarten class decorated and baked a gingerbread man.
"We walked down to the kitchen and put him in the oven," said Michelle Sanderfoot, kindergarten teacher, Hawthorne Elementary.
An hour later…
"The Gingerbread Man had mysteriously escaped the oven, just like in the story," said Sanderfoot.
Hawthorne Elementary teacher Michelle Sanderfoot took to social media asking if anyone knew where the Gingerbread Man could be. Immediately letters and postcards detailing a "sighting of the Gingerbread Man" came pouring in from neighboring states and far away countries.
The Gingerbread Man was spotted helping with tornado relief. Then he left crumbs in California.
"She was doing some baking, she heard some noise in her oven," said Sanderfoot "She sent us her postcard from California and a bag of literal crumbs."
From the beach back to the classroom – the Gingerbread Man shared his name with students in Ohio.
"The other class said, ‘we weren’t sure if he had a name so we asked him. So the other class, I think in Ohio, said that his name was ‘Gingy B. Bread.’ So we were like ‘Oh, OK," said Sanderfoot.
The search for "Gingy B Bread" is serving up a daily dose of sweetness.
"They are young, and it can be the smallest thing. I mean, they are so excited to open an envelope. You wouldn't think of it, but many children have never opened mail," said Sanderfoot.
And adding a new twist to a classic fairytale….
"I think just the fact that people are willing in this busy time to go out of their way to bring kindness and smiles to all of my students' faces, it's amazing," said Sanderfoot.
Michelle told FOX6 News she has some inside information that "Gingy B. Bread" is heading back to Hawthorne Elementary School on Valentine's Day.

Mafia fugitive caught after YouTube cooking show accidentally reveals his identity: Report
Man’s love for Italian cuisine tipped off law enforcement, leads to international arrest in Santo Domingo
A mafia fugitive couldn’t take the heat, so he went to the kitchen.
But, that’s exactly how Marc Feren Claude Biart got caught after spending seven years on the run, according to Calabria News – an Italian news outlet.
Biart was hiding from national authorities for alleged drug trafficking, but was tracked down and arrested in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday.
The 53-year-old man was found nearly 5,000 miles away from his hometown of Rome based on a cooking YouTube channel he launched with his wife in Boca Chica, a municipality near Santo Domingo –the Dominican Republic’s capital city.
Biart’s YouTube channel was not named, however, Calabria News described the channel as being focused on Italian cuisine.
Law enforcement officials were clued in that the YouTube channel belonged to Biart since the chef reviewed food while never revealing his face, the international report says. The body parts that were viewable revealed the mysterious chef had tattoos that matched what authorities had on record for the escaped mafia member.
Tracking down and arresting Biart was a group effort that included the Central Criminal Police Directorate, Interpol and multiple police forces from 10 countries
Biart was hiding out in a tourist resort that reportedly has a large Italian community present. Authorities told Calabria News he had been in the Dominican Republic for more than five years.
Before Biart made a home in Boca Chica, he was allegedly in Costa Rica, which is a little more than 1,800 miles away.
In 2014, the Court of Reggio Calabria subjected Biart to an order of custody in prison. He fled the country shortly after.
Italian authorities say Biart is a member of 'Ndrangheta, a prominent organized crime syndicate that reportedly operates in Calabria.
Other alleged members from the crime group have recently been busted as law enforcement agencies have convened under Interpol’s Cooperation Against 'Ndrangheta project.

"Home Cooks Wanted for Next Season of ‘Master Chef’"

"Do you have what it takes to be the next Master Chef? Home cooks are invited to put their best dish forward at an open casting call later this month in Chicago.
"Auditions for the FOX show are being held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Congress Plaza Hotel, 520 S. Michigan Avenue, in Chicago.
"To qualify, interested cooks need to download and complete the show’s application and bring the dish they think will most impress the judges.
"Cooks must be 18 by January 1, 2016; be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; have never worked as a professional chef or had a job cooking as a primary source of employment."
