Former White House medical adviser weighs in on Pence visit to Mayo Clinic

Cloth Face Masks

Why are we told that a cloth face mask will not prevent you from catching COVID-19, but it will prevent you from spreading it?  Does the virus know if you're breathing in or out?  How is it that a cloth face mask prevents the virus from spreading outward, but not from spreading inward?  The sheer stupidity of some of the health "guidelines" that we are presented with is astounding.  Unless a face mask is constructed with one-way fibers, it works equally well whether you are breathing in or out.  Remember this stupidity when our officials are up for re-election.  Remember the lies that they told us, backed with more lies.  They said an in-person election would cause a surge in coronavirus cases.  Well, it didn't.  (See: https://www.jtirregulars.com/2020/04/in-person-voting-didnt-lead-to-spike-in.html)  As usual, we were lied to.

Of course, stupid people don't get tired of lies.  Thus our "leaders" lie and lie to us.  Stupid people far outnumber those with a semblance of a brain in their heads, so we can expect the lies to keep on keeping on.  Keep lying to us about this pandemic, please.  Party on, lying pigs!

Dick Bacon Abides!

From The Shepherd Express:

The life and legend of Milwaukee’s favorite beach bum

JUN. 09, 2015

7:50 P.M.

It’s a rare thing to meet someone who has it all figured out—a person whose ambitions never outreach their means and who can find nirvana within a reasonable drive from their home. But for nearly 40 years, Milwaukeeans could find such a person with perhaps more ease than the residents of any other city in the nation. From the 1960s through the 1990s, one needed only to visit Bradford Beach during the morning hours, be it the peak of the summer swelter or the depths of the winter chill, to find a man at an enviable peace. This was the domain of Dick Bacon, a Milwaukee brewery worker with no hopes or dreams much beyond playing volleyball, lounging on the beach (in any weather) and building his tan.
Bacon died 15 years ago this summer, depriving Milwaukee of one of its most colorful (usually somewhere between a light mahogany and a glimmering bronze) characters. But Bacon himself was hardly cheated in life. Despite his modest means, he lived nearly every day on his own terms—save for the occasional arrest for nude sunbathing—and bred a legacy that still survives long after his last morning spent on the beach.
If anyone was born to gain fame as a nude male sunbather, it was Richard “Dick” Bacon. While the numerous newspaper articles on Bacon neglect to give details about his upbringing, he was a known figure at Milwaukee’s Bradford Beach by the early 1960s, when he began a streak of daily tanning sessions at the crest of Lake Michigan that would last until his death in August 2000. “I’ve only had one ambition in life: To enjoy it to the fullest and never have to work any more than I have to support myself,” Bacon told the Milwaukee Sentinel in 1978. “From the time I was a kid, the only thing I planned for was retirement.”
When he worked, he labored at the Pabst Brewery, sticking to the second and third shifts, so he could reserve his mornings for the beach. He liked to recount an incident from his youth—when he fell asleep on a West Coast beach and awoke to a seal sleeping beside him—that cinched his love for sand. Sometime in the 1960s, he met a girl at Bradford whom he would eventually marry. When she asked him his name, he replied, “Bacon. Wanna strip?” They stayed together for about nine years before she realized his deepest love would always be for the beach.

In-person voting didn't lead to spike in COVID-19, but concerns remain

From JSOnline:

Tony Evers sought to shut down the election in a historic move that was swiftly rejected by the conservative majority of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. (Photo: Mike De Sisti / Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)

Three weeks after Wisconsin residents cast ballots, researchers see no spike in COVID-19 cases attributable to in-person voting, though they say the effect from the election may be hidden in the numbers and difficult, if not impossible, to ever detect.
Predicted by some experts and officials, a surge in cases from the chaotic day of voting may have been prevented by precautions embraced at the polls. Wisconsin residents also appeared to follow the stay-at-home orders carefully in the days after the election, data show.
For roughly a week after the April 7 election, residents in most counties in the state rarely traveled from their homes and didn't gather in large numbers, according to cellphone data analyzed by the University of Wisconsin-Madison and other universities across the country.
In other words, the vote occurred during what appears to be Wisconsin's most compliant period of social distancing.
More recent data show that compliance with the stay-home orders is waning, both in Wisconsin and nationwide.

Why is it so difficult for our "leaders" to admit when they're wrong?

Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello, my sweets!  How are you?  Are you surviving the stay-at-home order?  Will the order be eased?  Who knows?  Not even me.  When I try to predict the future of politics, I'm always at a disadvantage.  I hate politics, almost as much as I hate COVID-19.  This darn virus has screwed up everything, just like politics screw up everything.  Look at Ms. Sandy Weidner.  She's been abused by the system from the start.  The lying pigs that run Racine tried to silence her with corrupt judicial rulings.  More and more lies followed, propagated mostly by our City Attorney, Scott 'Shyster' Letteney.  We're paying a Milwaukee lawyer six figures to defend Letteney from taking responsibility for his actions.  My God, he's the City Attorney - can't he defend himself?

You can read the latest about this case here:  https://journaltimes.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/new-racine-co-judge-to-be-assigned-to-weidner-open-records-case-against-city-of/article_693cfdab-7afc-55b6-9e09-da90d80d013c.html#tracking-source=home-top-story-1  Where does the city find the money to pay for these lying proceedings?  I thought we were broke.  It's funny how Mr. Mayor Cory 'Butterball' Mason always manages to find the funds for his desires, but he cannot find them for the taxpayers' desires.  What a corrupt swine!  Oink, oink, Mr. Mayor.

What a nasty start to my blog.  Obviously, I'm in a bad mood.  I don't think that I can spend another day holed up at home with that unguided missile, Junior.  He's literally bouncing off of the walls.  I send him out to run around the block regularly, but it doesn't seem to sap his energy.  Teenagers are almost indestructible.  I'd like to tie Junior to a stationary exercise bicycle and connect the bicycle to an electric generator.  I bet that Junior could light up a big piece of Racine.

Of course, Señor Zanza is a prince during these trying times.  He prepares and cooks meals.  He keeps the house sanitized.  He reminds us to practice social distancing.  I couldn't ask for a better man around the house.  I must have done something right in my past to deserve such an angel.  Thank You, God, for Señor Zanza.  Thank You, thank You, thank You.

No thanks for the RUSD referendum recount, conducted by those who stand to benefit the most from the referendum's passage.  What horse-poop!  RUSD decided what absentee votes were allowed and which weren't, then they destroyed the evidence so that there is no way to check their numbers.  They broke out champagne after the recount!  The most crooked referendum in a long line of election irregularities in Racine.  Who's going to pay for all of this?  As more and more taxpayers leave Racine for greener pastures, 'Butterball' better pull a lot more money out of his big butt.

Finally, I'd like to comment on all of the supposed development and redevelopment projects in Racine.  Unfortunately, 90% of them will fail, or, more likely, never get off of the ground in the first place.   Three different hotel projects have been announced for downtown Racine.  Have you ever been downtown in the daytime?  It's a ghost town.  If it weren't for the bars, downtown would be deader than a door nail.  I don't see how drunks can support three hotels, but maybe they will all need a place to sleep it off.  Just get used to announcements of big projects in downtown, but nothing ever coming of them.  Wasn't the old YMCA building across from the Journal Times building supposed to be made into apartments?  It looks like the new owners got wind of what a mess Racine is.

Finally, my dears, here is another YouTube video, this one entitled, "Watch 1950s Teens Rebel Against Society's Rules."  Oh my, they are such naughty teens:

It's only eight minutes long, plenty of time for a revolution.

Well, it's time to say goodbye for now.  I love every one of you, with all of my heart.  Thank you for reading my blog, and thank you for being you.

Treasury Secretary Mnuchin says it was ‘outrageous’ for the LA Lakers to take a small business loan

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Tuesday he was surprised that the Los Angeles Lakers — one of the best-known and most-successful basketball franchises — took a loan designed to help small businesses weather the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’m not a big fan of the fact that they took a $4.6 million,” Mnuchin told CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “I think that’s outrageous.”

Mnuchin added he “would have never expected in a million years that the Los Angeles Lakers” would take such a loan. He also said he was glad the team returned the money, “or they would have had liability.”

The Lakers were the second most-valuable team in the National Basketball Association entering 2020, with a valuation of $4.4 billion, according to Forbes.

But the LeBron James-led team is not the only major brand to take a loan from the Paycheck Protection Program, which was enacted last month to help small businesses.

Ruth’s Hospitality Group, which owns Ruth’s Chris Steak House, took a $20 million PPP loan. AutoNation took a $77 million loan. Both companies have said they would return the money.

Overall, more than 200 publicly traded companies have applied for Paycheck Protection Program loans. Mnuchin said it was “unfortunate” and “inappropriate” for some large companies to take these loans, but that he was “encouraged by the number of people that have paid them back.”

He added that companies getting loans of more than $2 million under the PPP would get a full audit to make sure they are valid.

Goddamn big pig companies and corporations have gobbled up the money meant for small businesses.  When it involves money, the swine can't control themselves.

Wisconsin stay-at-home order protesters vow to rally without permit

From the The pandemic hits home: Keep up with the latest local news on the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak series
SCOTT BAUER Associated Press  Apr 23, 2020

A woman holds a sign as she attends a rally outside the Missouri Capitol to protests stay-at-home orders put into place due to the COVID-19 outbreak on Tuesday. A similar rally is being organized for Madison's Capitol on Friday, even though the state has denied a permit.

Organizers of a rally against Wisconsin's stay-at-home order say they are proceeding with the event on Friday, even though their permit to hold it on the grounds of the Capitol was denied.
The planned rally is the latest in a string of events in Wisconsin and across the country, organized and promoted by opponents of orders designed to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Friday's rally has the potential to be the largest to date in Wisconsin, with more than 3,300 people as of Wednesday saying on Facebook that they are going and 12,000 interested.
Organizer Madison Elmer applied for a permit with the state Department of Administration on April 14. Elmer said Wednesday that she was notified this week that the permit was denied because the gathering would violate the order barring gatherings of any size.
The Capitol building is closed.

Elmer pledged to forge ahead with the rally, despite the possibility of being cited by law enforcement.

"I think our message is bigger than that to be worried about it," Elmer said. "I'm willing to risk citation for everybody else that's speaking to be able to be heard."

A spokeswoman for Capitol Police hasn't returned a message asking what type of enforcement there would be at the event. Madison Police Department spokesman Joel DeSpain said officers from his department would monitor it.

Gov. Tony Evers has said he respects the protesters’ free speech rights, but that he also hopes they maintain a safe distance from one another.

Organizers urged rally participants to be peaceful. But they are leaving it up to each participant to decide whether to follow social distancing guidelines that public health experts say are essential to stopping the spread of the virus.

"Everybody's responsible for their own health," Elmer said. "If they feel somebody else is making them uncomfortable they can move or stand by somebody else."

RUSD BILLION DOLLAR RECOUNT A SHAM

From Racine County Corruption:

In a display of total disregard of ethics and the rule of  law, valid votes are being discarded due to errors, acts and omissions by election officials.

Valid votes are being removed from authenticated ballots and discarded due to accounting irregularities.   In an unheard of move to balance the voter counts, a draw down was ordered on previously counted ballots to balance election count numbers, in essence,  valid counted ballots are being discarded randomly.

Should a Billion Dollar tax referendum be decided by the luck of the draw ?

WHO Warns You May Catch Coronavirus More Than Once

Catching Covid-19 once may not protect you from getting it again, according to the World Health Organization, a finding that could jeopardize efforts to allow people to return to work after recovering from the virus.
“There is currently no evidence that people who have recovered from Covid-19 and have antibodies are protected from a second infection,” the United Nations agency said in an April 24 statement.
The WHO guidance came after some governments suggested that people who have antibodies to the coronavirus could be issued an “immunity passport” or “risk-free certificate” that would allow them to travel or return to work, based on the assumption that they were safe from re-infection, according to the statement. People issued such a certificate could ignore public-health guidance, increasing the risk of the disease spreading further.
Chile was the first country to announce plans to issue immunity cards based partly on antibody tests. This has raised concerns because the tests have proven unreliable elsewhere, and some people may get deliberately ill in order to obtain the card. The U.S. and others have nonetheless said they’re looking into the option.
While there’s a consensus that the key to ending the coronavirus pandemic is establishing co-called herd immunity, there are many unknowns. One is whether researchers can develop a safe and effective vaccine. Another is how long people who’ve recovered have immunity; reinfection after months or years is common with other human coronaviruses. Finally, it’s not clear what percentage of people must be immune to protect the “herd.” That depends on the contagiousness of the virus.
The WHO said it’s reviewing the scientific evidence on antibody responses to coronavirus, but as yet no study has evaluated whether the presence of antibodies “confers immunity to subsequent infection by this virus in humans.” And while many countries are currently testing for antibodies, these studies aren’t designed to determine whether people recovered from the disease acquire immunity, the agency said.
As the hunt for a vaccine continues around the world, the WHO has formed an international alliance to ensure that treatments are distributed fairly. French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation are involved in the alliance.

Trump ends COVID-19 briefing abruptly after ‘inject disinfectant’

White House seems to be in damage control after outcry over Trump's suggestion that disinfectants can be used as remedy.

Donald Trump has abruptly ended his daily coronavirus briefing, as the White House attempts to contain the fallout from his earlier comments on how to treat the disease.
On Thursday, Trump raised the possibility of injecting disinfectant into patients.
Manufacturers, doctors and government agencies rushed out warnings against consuming disinfectants like bleach.
Trump claims he was being sarcastic.
