A trillion-dollar platinum coin could be minted "within hours of the Treasury Secretary's decision to do so," Philip Diehl, former director of the United States Mint, tells Axios.
Why it matters: Congressional solutions to the debt-ceiling problem could take weeks to implement, especially if the reconciliation process is used — and time is running out. In case of emergency, a trillion-dollar coin could be deployed to bridge any gap between the money running out and the debt ceiling being raised.
Re: Google and secret government warrants revealed
Gotta love Lemmy:
On Wed, Oct 6, 2021 at 3:38 AM Timothy Elmer <timothys.elmer@gmail.com> wrote:“Trawling through Google’s search history database enables police to identify people merely based on what they might have been thinking about, for whatever reason, at some point in the past. This is a virtual dragnet through the public’s interests, beliefs, opinions, values and friendships, akin to mind reading powered by the Google time machine,” said Jennifer Granick, surveillance and cybersecurity counsel at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). “This never-before-possible technique threatens First Amendment interests and will inevitably sweep up innocent people, especially if the keyword terms are not unique and the time frame not precise. To make matters worse, police are currently doing this in secret, which insulates the practice from public debate and regulation.”
The Wisconsin case was supposed to have remained secret, too. The warrant only came to light because it was accidentally unsealed by the Justice Department in September. Forbes reviewed the document before it was sealed again and is neither publishing it nor providing full details of the case to protect the identities of the victim and her family. The investigation is ongoing, two years after the crimes occurred, and the DOJ didn’t comment on whether or not any charges had been filed.
There was another disturbing aspect to the search warrant: the government had published the kidnapping victim’s name, her Facebook profile (now no longer accessible), her phone number and address, a potential breach of a minor’s privacy. The government has now sealed the document, though was only alerted to the leak after Forbes emailed the Justice Department for comment. That mistake—of revealing the identity of minor victims of sexual abuse in court documents—has become a common one in recent years. As in the latest case, the FBI and DHS have been seen choosing pseudonyms and acronyms for victims, but then publishing their full Facebook profile link, which contains the name of the minor.
And YES - I am being framed. Kurt Wahlen is winning. While he has my guns. Simply amazing.

On Wed, Oct 6, 2021 at 3:30 AM Timothy Elmer <timothys.elmer@gmail.com> wrote:In 2019, federal investigators in Wisconsin were hunting men they believed had participated in the trafficking and sexual abuse of a minor. She had gone missing that year but had emerged claiming to have been kidnapped and sexually assaulted, according to a search warrant reviewed by Forbes. In an attempt to chase down the perpetrators, investigators turned to Google, asking the tech giant to provide information on anyone who had searched for the victim’s name, two spellings of her mother’s name and her address over 16 days across the year. After being asked to provide all relevant Google accounts and IP addresses of those who made the searches, Google responded with data in mid-2020, though the court documents do not reveal how many users had their data sent to the government.
It’s a rare example of a so-called keyword warrant and, with the number of search terms included, the broadest on record. (See the update below for other, potentially even broader warrants.) Before this latest case, only two keyword warrants had been made public. One revealed in 2020 asked for anyone who had searched for the address of an arson victim who was a witness in the government’s racketeering case against singer R Kelly. Another, detailed in 2017, revealed that a Minnesota judge signed off on a warrant asking Google to provide information on anyone who searched a fraud victim’s name from within the city of Edina, where the crime took place.
While Google deals with thousands of such orders every year, the keyword warrant is one of the more contentious. In many cases, the government will already have a specific Google account that they want information on and have proof it’s linked to a crime. But search term orders are effectively fishing expeditions, hoping to ensnare possible suspects whose identities the government does not know. It’s not dissimilar to so-called geofence warrants, where investigators ask Google to provide information on anyone within the location of a crime scene at a given time.
“As with all law enforcement requests, we have a rigorous process that is designed to protect the privacy of our users while supporting the important work of law enforcement,” a Google spokesperson said.

Ex-Racine corrections officer sentenced for skimming inmate fees

RACINE, Wis. (AP) — A former corrections officer with the Racine County Sheriff’s Office has been sentenced to eight months in the county jail for stealing more than $11,000 in fees she collected from inmates.
Barbara Teeling was charged with two counts of theft in a business setting and attempted misconduct while in office. A plea deal reduced the charges from felonies to misdemeanors.
Judge Robert Repischak told the 40-year-old Teeling that he would have sent her to prison if she had pleaded guilty to a felony. The judge added that Teeling also took the public trust, which she cannot repay. Teeling will be allowed to leave the jail to go to work.

Video: Man confronts thieves as they steal his car in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE — Zachary Bennett said he decided to go for a walk on the Oak Leaf trail for the first time Sunday morning, but when he got back to his car, he noticed two people sitting in the front of it, getting ready to take off.
"Get out of my car right this minute,” Bennett can be heard saying on cell phone video. He said he couldn't believe what he saw: two young men, one with a screw driver in hand, trying to steal his 2018 Kia Sportage.
"I started walking toward my car and I saw someone sitting in my seat and thought, 'is this really happening?'" he recounted.
The two ignored Bennett's demands for them to leave the car.
"It didn't seem like they were really fazed by it. They just kept doing what they were doing,” he said.

What they were doing ended up being a car theft. The two boys got away, ultimately making it about six minutes down the road to the 7300 block of Acacia.
The car was ditched in front of Flores Carissa's house, blocking her driveway. It was found several hours later.
“The engine was still running and it was sitting there with the windows down and everything,” Carissa said.
According to Milwaukee Police, there have been more than 7,000 auto thefts this year in the city. That is an average of 29 stolen cars per day.

Among those, Kia and Hyundai vehicles are by far the most targeted. Each was reported stolen more than 2,600 times this year.
“You are responsible for your child, and if your child is doing something like this, the parent needs to be held accountable,” Bennett said.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Milwaukee Police at (414) 935-7242 or Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-TIPS or P3 Tips App to remain anonymous.

Foxconn Mount Pleasant LCD plant hasn't materialized 4 years later
MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. - Four years ago Monday, Oct. 4, Foxconn picked Mount Pleasant to house its estimated $10 billion project but plans never materialized to build flat LCD screens. Some residents say it's been four years of broken promises, but the company is defending itself and its future in Racine County.
Foxconn makes parts for iPhones and is one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturers. The company says it's already invested nearly $1 billion into Wisconsin. Recently, e-vehicle company Fisker came to the Badger State to see if this could be the site to build their cars, in a partnership with Foxconn.
Instead, that plan stalled and Foxconn says it's looking to Ohio. It nnounced its intent to buy an already-existing manufacturing plant in Lordstown, Ohio. The company added, "Foxconn's assets in Wisconsin will continue to serve as a potential location for additional investment for Foxconn's electric vehicle growth in the United States and continue to be the location for data infrastructure hardware and information and communication technology production."
"This is the 8th wonder of the world," said then-President Donald Trump during the Foxconn groundbreaking in June 2018.

The original deal– to create 13,000 jobs in Mount Pleasant in exchange for billions in tax breaks–was scrapped this year. In April, Foxconn renegotiated a six-year deal with Wisconsin – $80 million in taxpayer subsidies for more than 1,400 jobs.
Still, questions linger. What will be made in Mount Pleasant?
"Originally, Foxconn said they were going to build large LCD screens," said Kelly Gallagher, Bettter Mount Pleasant. "Then it was small LCD screens. Then they were going to build an artificial intelligence hub. Then they were possibly going to create a facility to build medical equipment. Then they were going to do coffee kiosks. Then it was a home alarm systems. Then it was Google servers. In the effort to try to find anything to make or use the buildings around here for, Foxconn officials considered fish farming, boat storage and handbag exportation."
Foxconn says it has invested nearly $1 billion in Wisconsin and is hiring to meet demands for data infrastructure hardware. The company says it has attracted the attention of other manufacturers and investors for future business development.

"They have promised us so many things over the years, and if it wasn’t so expensive and wasn’t so sad for us, it would almost be comical," said Gallagher.

FOX6 News requested interviews with all the members of the Mount Pleasant Village Board, the village's administrator, the Racine county executive and the Racine County Economic Development Corporation. Even though the requests were done independently of the others, they responded in a joint statement:
"The village and county have experienced significant benefits from Foxconn's development in our community - including the more than $750 million the company has already invested here. With the four buildings currently completed on the campus, Foxconn is already, by far, the largest taxpayer in Racine County. We continue to work closely with Foxconn to realize the vision in the local agreement and spur development, both at the Foxconn campus and throughout the Electronics and Information Technology Manufacturing (EITM) zone in Mount Pleasant. With new infrastructure installed in a key I-94 corridor between Milwaukee and Chicago, we’re poised for more growth and are working hard to continue our great progress."
Kim Mahoney, whose home is surrounded by the Foxconn development, criticized the statement. "The prepared statement is that Foxconn is the largest single taxpayer in Racine County. They are just gaslighting you because none of that money goes toward road repair, schools or government services - it all goes back to the TID (tax incremental district) to pay for all of the infrastructure that was ‘needed’ for Foxconn."

BIDEN’S NOMINEE AS AMBASSADOR TO LUXEMBOURG IS FACING CRIMINAL CHARGES
City of Milwaukee Mayor
The criminal complaint filed against Mayor Tom Barrett concerning 2020 federal elections is now seeing the light of day.
So says public watchdog Jay Stone. You may read the complaint HERE.
The complaint concerning federal elections misconduct was filed against Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett by Jay Stone, a private citizen from Pleasant Prairie, Wi. The complaint was filed into the Wisconsin Election Commission (WEC) and received on September 20th, 2021 but doesn’t show up on any of the researched databases on the WEC website.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has been nominated to be the ambassador to Luxembourg, the tiniest of all the kingdom’s in Europe, with a population of slightly over 600,000, about the size of Milwaukee. Barrett's nomination is pending in the U.S. Senate.
Within the White House statement announcing President Joe Biden's intent to nominate Barrett, Biden praised Barrett for being the longest-serving "big city" mayor and for his environmental initiatives.
"He has led great lakes mayors in both Canada and the U.S. as the chair of the Great Lakes and Saint Lawrence Cities Initiative, and spearheaded multiple clean, green initiatives in the city to clean up rivers, parks, and brownfields," the White House statement continued.
“Apparently Biden failed to fact check his own statements”, stated Harry Wait, President of HOT Government. “The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District (MMSD) has been the single largest polluter of the Great Lakes for the last 17 years straight since Barrett has been mayor, "that isn’t leadership, its failure”, further stated Wait.
“The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District has been out of compliance with EPA and Wisconsin DNR regulations concerning illegal sewage discharges into Lake Michigan for the 17 years Barrett has been mayor. Billions and Billions of gallons of untreated water and raw sewage has been dumped into Lake Michigan creating no swimming zones over 100 miles along the western shores of Lake Michigan, all while under Barrett’s leadership, "Barrett is no environmentalist nor leader, he is a sewage spreader” Wait further stated.
Biden’s efforts to nominate Barrett as ambassador are of no coincidence. It’s a Biden payback for Milwaukee getting the votes for out at 3AM for Biden in the 2020 national elections when Claire Woodall-Vogg produced a thumbdrive full of votes.
The possible appointment is also a get out of jail card for Barrett being he is now under investigation for illegal and criminal misconduct. As an ambassador, Barrett would be immune to subpoenas, interrogatories, depositions and extradition.
Now how convenient is that?
Barrett had the audacity to state "As a lifelong Milwaukeean, I will bring the values of our community to this new posting, values we share such as hard work, honesty and caring for others".
Barrett's legacy in Milwaukee isn't about hard work, honesty or caring for others. His legacy is about failure, conflict and deceit. Conflict with the police department, increased violent crime, increased human trafficking, Children homicides, suppression of private enterprise, attacking homeowners thru building code violations and increased taxes, the city's attack of white owned businesses, the bogus crime statistics reported within the city of Milwaukee and nominating POS judges.
And speaking of Judges, check out the glowing recommendation Mayor Barrett wrote for Judge Brett Blomme who was recently convicted in Federal Court of federal child porn charges. Mayor Barrett thru his own arrogance of an unvetted agenda of diversity brought additional exposure and risk into Milwaukee by bringing in perverts into the Milwaukee community and putting children at additional exposure and risk.
You may read Mayor Barrett's recommendation letter below.
You may read more about the conviction of former judge Brett Blomme below.
https://www.wisconsinrightnow.com/2021/03/17/brett-blomme-criminal-complaint/
Barrett's lack of good judgment and arrogance has been on display for many years, including the State Fair Park incident where he got his bell rung when he further irritated and threatened to call the police to an already irate man with a pipe in his hand. Barrett got his dupa handed to him when the man whacked a steel pipe across Barrett's noggin.
Does the following picture make him look wise or intelligent?
Or expose him as an arrogant man lacking common sense ?
You may read more about Barrett's beating below:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/milwaukee-mayor-attacked-with-pipe-at-fair/
Barrett's lack of good judgment and arrogance cost the tax payers plenty of money being Barrett got what he negotiated when he further threatened the man with dialing 911 and then failing to call the police to intervene.
Sorry folks, but this is just a small part of the real unfiltered record of Mayor Tom Barrett.
Barrett is no leader, but a follower of the political cabal he so aspires to please.
The only thing Barrett may bring of value to Luxembourg will be his “get out of jail card” compliments of the Biden crime family should he get his appointment as ambassador to Luxembourg.
Special thanks to Jay Stone for his pursuit of
