Gang Fest

I read in the Journal Times about problems at North Beach yesterday with kids and gangs: http://www.journaltimes.com/articles/2009/06/15/local_news/doc4a36dd1cc2e83394521095.txt. As usual, none of the individuals involved or their parents are at fault. Once again, the blame falls squarely and completely upon society. As a member of society, I agonize over this whenever it occurs: how can I prevent the children of people I don’t even know from running wild? What is the matter with me that I cannot control them? Where did I go wrong? Why do I keep making people have babies that they do not care for? Why don’t I raise them all by myself?

After much soul searching, I have come up with a suggestion that may help ameliorate this situation somewhat. It may even help with our city’s current economic problems. My suggestion is this: Gang Fest, to be held on the Festival Hall grounds in beautiful downtown Racine. The downturn in events held there has impacted the most important part of our city, downtown, negatively. Another festival there cannot but help improve things.

At Gang Fest, local gangbangers can meet and exchange ideas on gang life and gang death. Target practice at a festival firing range could help immensely with the issue of innocent bystanders being hit by stray bullets, and local merchants and artists could display the latest in gang fashions and collectibles for sale. Specialty booths could offer lessons in improving gang signifying skills, or not snitching, for instance. The possibilities are endless. Maybe it could even be made into a combined Gang Festival and Gun Show. If we try, I’m sure it could become the biggest in the Midwest.

Anyway, that’s it for now. But I want everyone to know that I am working diligently to accept more and more responsibility for things that I haven’t done in order that the thugs and scammers of Racine can continue to leech off of the other citizens.

Thank you, and have a blessed day.

Definitely a brilliant idea...wonder why the city leaders have not thought of this! Good job, Orbs...

Just trying to help, and just trying to make up for all the murders and crimes I have inflicted upon Racine by not raising other peoples' children.

I think this festival already exists, we just don't advertise it as such. In fact, all festivals are going this route.

There was a shooting this past Sunday at Milwaukee's oldest and safest family-orientated festival, Locust Fest. A seventeen year old with a gun and a bone to pick. In broad daylight amid a street full of festive people, children and pets, he shoots someone. I was there just hours before.

I also just heard the mayor of Madison stating on the news that they are beginning to have a problem with young black males carrying weapons. Coming soon to a city near you.... nothing is safe, no city is immune.

Not that I wish to start a political war here, but I had a conversation about parents raising their own children not so long ago with a single parent. Her response was that it 'takes a village,' and that she was not responsible for raising her child, other people were. Duh??? What??? Huh????

Hey Beejay

Just out of curiosity, how old is this person?

Yeah, that "it takes a village" crap is how the scammers have been avoiding responsibility for themselves and their lives for years. It is constantly reinforced by their "leaders," keeping them dependent upon the "man." Self-imposed slavery.

"Gang Fest" I wonder WHY they don't have one every year on the same date. They could even give the Federal employee's the day off.

Where is Mayor Dickert's thoughts and ideas on this??

Didn't Gary Becker stand silent to crime months and months before he got busted??

Folks, I believe we have yet another Becker in office (minus the pervert).

It doesn't look good Racine.
