I take this with a big grain of salt for about twelve different reasons (not the last of which is it appears on a web site called "Yourtango.com"). Turns out women are getting more attractive over time. Markus Jokela of the University of Helsinki found that attractive women have more children and are more likely to have daughters, hence increasing the percentage of attractive women in the world. Even Forbes thought this was important, so someone must be planning to make money off of it.
Interestingly enough, the study was based on about 10,000 students who graduated from Wisconsin high schools in 1957...results not guaranteed in other states.

Are you kidding??? I am beautiful and had 3 beautiful sons. So I must be the exception to the rule. I also went to Wisconsin schools.

I don't think it's evolution that is making women more beautiful - it's products like the Shake Weight and all those anorexic models that everyone is emulating. 50 years is hardly enough time to study the effects of evolution, but it might explain the effects of Cosmo magazine.
Right on, Orbs...that was number two on my list of reasons to be skeptical (right after the fact that I found it on Yourtango.com).
It is men that determine the sex of babies. So... do pretty women choose men that have the tendency to produce female children? Or, do their looks affect the male performance so that they produce more females? Hmmm...
sure sure, this maybe a fact, but only in sitcoms do fat dumpy men get the babe.
I forget, is it large penises produce women? KKD which is it? Maybe I need to change my personals ad to mention I produce girl babies or something....

It is also a know fact that Wisconsin has some of the highest consumption of beer per capita. Ya think there may be a correlation there?
