So KK You Wanted Paris.....

Sorry, didn't go to the top. I wasn't going to wait in line for FIVE FRICKIN' HOURS!

SANCTUARY! Otherwise know as Home of the Fighting Irish.

Visiting this choked me up a little. After WWII, a postage stamp was issued with a picture of American soldiers, specifically the 101st Airborne marching under the Arch. My father was somewhere in that picture.

This is a tomb believe it or not. And as big as it is, there is only one guy buried there, and he was a little squirt only 5 foot something.

This was taken in the district were all the ritzy perfume shops are located. You could pass a 20 megaton SBD there and no one would ever notice.

The palace at Versailles located about 20 miles from Paris. It was King Louie's "hunting lodge".

Ah....The City of Lights....... The schmucks that started waiting at 9 in the morning are probably just getting to the ticket window when this picture was taken.

Great pics again, logjam.

That tomb is quite impressive. Talk about overcompensating...

I'm not a big fan of France, but speaking of tombs, someday I want to go to India. I want to see the Taj Mahal, suppose to be the greatest erection a man ever had for a woman.

Can you hear me going... Ahhhhhh at the pictures. Thanks so much for posting them, they are gorgeous! Did you have a tour guide? You seem so knowledgeable about all the buildings. I'd probably buzz right past some of them, not knowing the significance.

5 hours is nuts. Talk about burning up your precious days of vacation. One of these days I'll get there, man... one of these days!

And I don't mind the pictures. Keep them coming.

Logjam: Did you get to Denmark? I'm moving there soon. As soon as what's her name from Minnesota becomes President, or even the other one, or even the one we have. I'm gonna break all my fingers so I can't vote. Sorry, but that was an example of how I talk In circles.

I had Rick Steve's Guide to Paris when I went there. He maps out walking tours telling you where to go and what all the buildings are. That's where I found the little B&B I stayed at with its three resident cats to get my daily cat fix.

Sorry, no Denmark. I was with my son's German class on a tour this spring. The French class was supposed to come to, but they didn't. That's how we ended up with 4 days in Paris. The French were really nice to Americans; not like the rumor has it. I only ran into one snotty French women. She is probably like that all the time or it was that time of month for her.
If you don't like second hand smoke, you're going to have problems. They have none of the smoking laws that we have here. Some of them even think we have banned smoking altogether. Within 2 hours of landing in Paris, I was on crutches for the duration...the whole trip was 10 days. Made the walking tours a real bitch for me. At the hotel we stayed at first, our rooms weren't ready so we had to put our bags in a room downstairs. It was a fairly good size circular stairway, but the lights were out and my photograys were on max. I missed the last step and did a header into the floor screwing up my knee. Ironically they must have known I was coming. A hospital was located just behind the hotel, but there was no way in hell I was going to the hospital. In some countries they hold your passport when you get admitted and give it back to you when the bill gets paid.
