Change is coming to Unified

Shaw is leaving Unified. I'm sure there is more to come. JT now has a story. Teachers were notified a little while ago via email.

I'm curious to hear KK's take on this, being a vested interest.

He sucked every dime he could in salary and retirement benefits, while watching the district decline every year.

Wow, I remember after the Hicks debacle that everyone was so glad that Shaw would even consider working for RUSD. But he turned out to be more of the same old same old. I thought the captain is supposed to go down with the ship, not jump overboard at the first opportunity.

I'm still in shock, but not overtly surprised. He was on the cusp of being fired, if you ask me. The schools were not making AYP (adequate yearly progress) and were on the verge of losing beaucoup in fed dollars.

Orbs took the words out of my mouth. I posted the same captain not going down with the ship analogy on Facebook, immediately after seeing the news.

He was simply "the face" and didn't do much leading, as far as I could tell. He hid behind his delegated deputies and cluster superintendents. (Those folks stole their incomes, too.) Shaw was always there with some cliche prepared statement for the press or whenever someone important had a camera to aim.

Racine has been taken again. No surprise. Wonder what sweet parting deal he has arranged. Pitifully, the kids keep getting the shaft.

How about making Orbs the Supe?

Sorry, no sir. I really don't know snit about education and it's too important to just let another idiot take over. What happens to Shaw's desk? What happened to Hicks'?

I would, however, accept a mandate from the people of Racine to be their mayor. I don't know anymore about being mayor than I do about education, but I could not do worse than lying John. I mean, just be honest with people. What a concept. I learned about it in AA. If you don't lie, you don't have to worry about what you said to whom.

Whatever lying John is getting paid, I'll do it for half. I'd also find some way to terminate his cousin without the city having to pay out the remainder of his contract. kk would make a great City Administrator. I think she might do it for less than a hundred grand a year, too.

Heck, if kk's doing all the work, I'll be mayor for a quarter of whatever lying John is getting. There's all sorts of perks that come with being mayor, so I won't be hurting.

My campaign slogan will be: "Vote for me and I'll set you free!"

Sorry, I don't accept. I have too many skeletons in my closet. I would have to stop my philandering ways, I'd have to tell the truth instead of making it up as I go. Wait, no I wouldn't. There is no punishment for that or or precedence or expectations of morality. I was wrong, I accept.

The mayor of Sheboygan is currently trying very hard to make the leadership of Racine look better. Party on. I can't watch or the news anymore.

Who keeps throwing that extra "or" in my posts? ;>

Hey Orbs on that "snit"; is that the way is supposed to be or doesn't your computer include the top part of the "h"?
