Any Thoughts on Mass Shootings?

I don't have any solution and don't know what to say, but I feel compelled to say something.  What the hell is going on with our country?  I mean, we had nut job shooters when I was young, too, like Charles Whitman at the University of Texas Tower.  He killed 13.  But that was very much the exception.  Today, it's not yet commonplace for mass shootings to occur, but it's getting there.  Is it a symptom of a sick society?  Do we blame movies and TV and video games and music?  No matter who or what we blame, is there any way to "fix" it?

As I said, I have no solution.  I just felt it necessary to say something, something about so many people dying senselessly.

It is a symptom of the continuing decay of our society. Bad TV, shock radio, hate groups and a general lack of respect for life all contribute to our continued downward spiral into oblivian.
Much of the blame falls on the public itself for electing and supporting bad government.
When our public officials are not held accountable for their wrongful acts, the stage is set for the public to follow.
A classic example is our dept. of justice selling assualt weapons to the drug cartels in mexico. Eric Holder and all responsible associates should be brought to trial for conspiracy to muder and murder, yet none have been held accountable for their acts of murder and treason. Damn our corrupt government.

Not sure what the cause, I'm sure blame can be placed on many levels. We have become so much more violent as a society in general. Every newscast is reporting numerous shooting events, physical assaults, robberies, etc. We have also become more tolerant and numb to the whole situation. I have no answers.

With all the past history of mass shooting, you would think there is something that stands out, some type of sign that the person is ready to snap his/her radish.

Whether a parent, friend or even a co-work might see there is a problem on the rise. The biggest problem (to me) what are the signs and who should they be reported to?

They say there are signs someone is going to commit suicide and people see but don’t act on it.

No one wants to “rat” out a friend or family member and there should be a way to do it anonymously.

This information of ‘signs’ needs to be distributed everywhere; in schools, work, hospitals, newspapers, magazine, mass mailings, you get the idea.

I’m sure there are signs which many of us are clueless too.

Many people blame guns or assault weapons. We all know damn well guns do not kill people, people kill people; but if you have a friend who never owned one and is bitching and complaining about someone or thing and all of a sudden he/she owns a gun…is that a sign?

When I walked out of the bloggers' meet with the mayor (Becker) years ago, I heard someone say, "I hope he doesn't own a gun." Is that a sign? I haven't shot anyone, but maybe it's coming? If so, I hope that I don't take out innocents, but, rather, some more deserving individuals.

So, this latest shooter appears to have been a wife-beater enraged by the thought of her infidelity. Why does he have to take out two others with her and injure four more? Of course, there's no answer. He was nuts, exploding into a spasm of violence and then offing himself. It doesn't look good for the future.

I'm sure there were warning signs with this guy. He was probably this way all his life and no one knew what to do. His wife probably saw the signs but ignored them until it was too late. Why do we ALWAYS think we can change people?
This guy was a menace but until he committed this awful crime what was to be done? You can't lock someone up for a bad temper.

Orb's, I blogged on the Channel 3000 site yesterday, about this. In these Husband/Wife etc. cases, I believe the offending party needs to be evaluated by mental experts at the moment enforcement of the Restraining Order goes into effect. That mean HOLDING the person In jail until evaluated. She was scared to death of this man, and for whatever reason refused to press charges, after a situation with Police last year. I honestly don't know why, since he was seen? pointing a "Long Black" item at her, by Police? Anyhow unless they find a way to do more than just say you can't go near a person, I guess these things will continue to happen. When you think about It, telling someone to stay away from someone else is like telling someone their drivers license Is revoked, and they better not be driving anymore. It doesn't matter to most people. The do It anyway. About HANDGUNS, Isn't a 3 day waiting period valid anymore? I am very tempted to go see If I can buy a handgun to carry. This country Is FUBAR.

"This country Is FUBAR?
You might be right.
However, one must remember we have over 50 million gun owners that make the right decision every day.
I believe we can still put our country back on the right track.
Without hope their is only despair.
With an increase of populations comes an increase of crazies.

Legal, Despair Is a good word. I couldn't possibly explain how, or why I feel the way I do, each and every time one of these crazy acts occurs. I think about this single mom from Racine, who had a teenage daughter that must deal with this horrific act forever, because a small Police Dept. didn't act to get this ANIMAL off the street. This didn't happen ONCE, but TWICE. They can claim they didn't know this or that, but when the lawsuit comes, before a jury, the taxpayers of Brown Deer will pay dearly, and frankly THEY SHOULD. Like I said In my previous comment, It's time to go the extra step of Jail, and medical evaluation to be used. I'm frankly tired of hearing about this shit.

The burden the victims families now have to go through is unthinkable.

The legal system is in need of complete overhaul.

Judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys and citizens must actively step up to the plate to fix our broken system.

I will soon be changing my website format to start exposing the ineptness and corruption in the our Racine County legal system.

On a positive news front, I have found Rich Chiapete, Racine County District Attorney to be a man of his word. I have made nearly 100 inquiries about him and found all respondants to speak very highly of his character. He is a good family man and worthy of our support.
