"LONG TIME RACINE BUSINESS MAIN MARINE & SKI GOES OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!"

From Racine Community Media:

"Racine- Main Marine & Ski has closed it’s doors on Main St in Racine for good. They could no longer survive the harsh business conditions in Racine. After 46 years in business next to the Main Street bridge, the economic conditions in Racine proved to be to much for the long standing business. The store and it’s services are now offically closed, and the building has gone into foreclosure."

They had no competition in Racine, closest was Kenosha then Milwaukee so they set their prices high

I went there for a tube of lower drive grease and some other supplies, after looking at the cost, I went to Keno.

Never been there, though I've driven by for years.

It's another shot to the nuts of Racine.

Sad to see another icon of Racine gone for good.

SER - built into the price for that tube of lower drive grease was the "VIG" charged by Lying John so that City Hall could be filled with gold plated boat anchors, warming seats and making $100,000+ yr salary and $20,000 - $40,000 yr tax free benefits!

The business had been for sale - asking price $1.9M, since Nov. of 2012. If it was a profitable or viable business - it would have been snapped up! Obviously it wasn't!

Now West Shore Marine is being torn down, allegedly for "boat storage" area as this is "needed", according to the John Dickert Times. This follows the 2012 closing of West Marine Boaters Supply on Main Street. I don't believe it a bit! The slips from Reefpoint Marina to the Fifth Street Yacht Club had too many empty slots and boater activity was light all Summer long. Too many times - Downtown seemed like a Ghosttown!

Coldwell Banker listing: 1101 N. Main St.

According to CCAP the foreclosure is for $ 978,868.96

I notice that Azarian Marina is actively advertising boat storage, and is in property tax arrears for 6 out of the 7 parcels owned by Azarian Marina.

Total in arrears: $103,616.40.

No Big Deal thougth - as Jim Ladwig will charge County Taxpayers for the loss and Lying' John will continue to award City contracts to Azarian Concrete!

Boiaters and Tourists will save Downtown Racine - fer sure! Just ask Lying' John and Little Buddy Jim Ladwig!

PARTY ON! Lying' John!

Did anyone notice that Gerald's Smokehouse is now closed? The City is also harassing Bar 525 and trying to put them out of business.

Opening soon will be Doug Nicholson's newst venture at 220 State St. - Carriage House Liquor Company.

Currently, Loopnet lists 72 commercial properties for sale in Racine!

Either Racine is the land of opportunity, or everyone is heading for the exits!
