He also owned a Dallas Strip Club which Jim Marrs patronized while he was a Journalism student, prior to the Kennedy assassination. Dallas was dry at the time and you had to BYOB.

I also patronized a strip club in Hickory North Carolina which was in a dry County. You had to buy a nightly membership which allowed you to gain entrance and buy beer.

Jack Ruby Suicide Try is Reported
Condemned slayer Jack Ruby Sunday was found beating his head against the side of his cell in what Sheriff Bill Decker said was a "suicide attempt"... "Apparently he only suffered a knot on the head."

From Who Was Jack Ruby:His mother died in an insane asylum in Chicago. His father was a drunk and was treated for psychiatric disorders. A brother and a sister had psychiatric treatment. Ruby tried to commit suicide a couple of years earlier. His finger was once bitten off in a fight. He had a long history of violent, antisocial behavior, and when it was over he wouldn’t remember what he had done.

From Murderpedia: From early childhood, Jack Ruby was called "Sparky" by those who knew him.114 According to his sister Eva Grant, the nickname derived from the way Jack wobbled when he walked. He was thought to resemble the slow-moving horse called "Sparky" or "Sparkplug" depicted in a contemporary comic strip. Mrs. Grant testified that her brother became incensed when called "Sparky" and that from the time he was about 8 years old he would strike anyone calling him by that name.

I didn't know that. I did find out this week that he had his dog in the car when he shot Oswald. Tells me it was an impulse rather than planned.

They say he claimed he would be hailed as a hero, thus, the dog In the car, would actually be going home with him that day?
