I've never seen that movie or all of that stuff.

That's WWII era People.

The Lost Weekend is a 1945 American drama film directed by Billy Wilder and starring Ray Milland and Jane Wyman. The film was based on Charles R. Jackson's 1944 novel of the same title about an alcoholic writer. The film was nominated for seven Academy Awards and won four: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay).

Plot

He drops a cigarette into a glass of whiskey to make it undrinkable, as proof that he is cured.

WWII was where one group of men, being War Profiteers and safely beyond the violence, forced and urged another group of Men to kill People because they disagreed with their thoughts and ideas. The Victors were actually the biggest war criminals of all - because they were best at killing, maiming and destroying.

The guys that did the killing - and survived - came back messed up. Psychologically.

I suppose from the air, it looked eerily beautiful and strange. The colors and all...

Here's the thoughts of another WRITER - to tie it in....

"You guys burnt the place down, turned it into a single column of flame. More people died there in the firestorm, in that one big flame, than died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined." --Kurt Vonnegut, Jr

The WWII Dresden Holocaust - 'A Single Column Of Flame'

On the evening of February 13, 1945, an orgy of genocide and barbarism began against a defenseless German city, one of the greatest cultural centers of northern Europe. Within less than 14 hours not only was it reduced to flaming ruins, but an estimated one-third of its inhabitants, possibly as many as a half a million, had perished in what was the worst single event massacre of all time.

And what happens to Men who kill, watch other die, and blindly obey orders.....

The Hells Angels.... Controversy!

Hells Angels Motorcycle Club Lineage Clarification

The myth and legends surrounding the military lineage of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club has, for decades, been cited as being from former members of the Hell’s Angels Bomber B-17 Group from World War II. This myth has been aided by incorrect reporting by authors who deemed it appropriate to align the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC) with ex-service members returning from a war where excitement and adventure had become their lifestyle. Authors and newspaper correspondents, from a wide assortment of daily, weekly and other periodicals have made statements, not founded in fact. It has been stated that these former servicemen were alleged to have been drunkards, military misfits, and generally speaking substandard soldiers that would not adjust to a return to a peacetime environment. If any person, regardless of their association considered the content of the statements and inferences made, they would find these to lack any rational thought or concern for truthful reporting.

Off to buy a comforter I found at Ross for only $44. It doesn't get better than that. Especially when you have a big black hairy dog who doesn't mean to but messes up everything.

Have a great day Irregulars.

Ah, Saturday..............

Hello Irregular friends.

Had to have my yearly insurance mini physical today. They have to be kidding.... to get the lowest medical insurance rate, a female has to have under 23% body fat. I think I was born above that. Now, I'm depressed and angry.

They now measure your height, weight, waist circumstance, prick your finger and do your sugar and triglyceride ratio to determine how much you will pay in insurance premiums. I don't care what they say, I'm not eating those soylent green crackers the company provides.

KK. That is ridiculous; 23% my next twinkie. Don't worry as you are a healthy person. Ask them when they lecture you on healthy eating if they are going to pay you more. Anyone who has been to the grocery store knows how expensive it is.

Stop the madness.

Health care is all effed up. Obamacare keeps sending me letters that I have to enroll to get health and drug insurance. I've had both for nearly 20 years.

My mom had some trouble with Medicare Part D (drugs) Insurance. They wouldn't recognize Senior Care Rx and kept enrolling her in different drug plans, all without her consent. It was a mess, and this was pre-Obamacare.

*WOW*

Dude must have taken Exit 333 off of I-94

Slaughterhouse 5

The story is told in a nonlinear order and events become clear through various flashbacks (or time travel experiences) from the unreliable narrator who describes the stories of Billy Pilgrim, who believes himself to have been in an alien zoo and to experience time travel.

Kurt Vonnegut lives.

I'm so lucky with my health care coverage. My premiums just dropped. I have decent coverage.

Hey drew, I saw your double (in ten years) at Piggly-Wiggly. The guy looked almost exactly like you, including the long hair, but his was gray. I almost said hi.

Awhile back I was in line at McDonald's when I realized that the woman in front of me was a double for my sister. Exact double. I was so upset that I left the line. I kept wanting to go up to her and say, "Hi, Gina. I love you."

It is odd how the mind works. When I knew my nephew moved to California, my mind kept telling me I was seeing him everywhere around town. I think it lies in what we *want* to see. I recently saw a woman in the supermarket who looked very much like my mother. She even sounded like her. It was both a pleasant and a sad experience at the same time.
