Mount Pleasant 4-year-old boy called 911 on his mom for eating his ice cream. Here's what police did next

Police responded to a lighthearted call earlier this month after a Racine County 4-year-old called 911 on his mom for eating his ice cream.

On March 4, Officer Gardinier and Officer Ostergaard with the Village of Mount Pleasant Police Department were dispatched for a 911 hangup, the department shared in a Facebook post last week.

According to audio obtained by TMJ4, the boy told dispatchers, "My mommy is being bad."

"OK, what's going on?" the dispatcher asked.

"Come and get my mommy," the child said, as he seemed to begin to cry.

Eventually, his mother is heard on the call saying, "Oh, this little one got the phone, and he's 4."

"I ate his ice cream, so that's probably why he's calling 911," she later said.

When officers arrived at the boy's residence, he confirmed this, telling them his mom ate his ice cream and "needed to go to jail" for it, the department said. Eventually, the child told officers he no longer wanted his mother to go to jail and "just wanted some ice cream."

Officers returned the next day with two cups of ice cream and shared a photo of them giving it to the boy.

On 3/4/25, Officer Gardinier and Officer Ostergaard were dispatched for a 911 hangup. A little boy called 911 saying his mom was being bad and needed to go to jail. When Officers arrived he said his mom ate his ice cream and needed to go to jail for it. He told them he no longer wanted her to go to jail and just wanted some ice cream.
Officers responded back today to surprise him with some ice cream after he decided he didn’t want mom in trouble anymore!

I love ice cream, but I'd take a pass on chicken wing flavor.  I don't eat regular chicken wings, so I'd have little interrest in this.

"Even for the most dedicated of ice cream lovers this sweet treat may prove a little hard to swallow. Unbelievably a brand of ice cream cone is readily available in India which is named after Hitler. It’s difficult to fathom what the Nazi leader may have in common with the crunchy snack, but Hitler’s name is splashed across boxes of the tasteless delicacy which is hawked across the country.

"Meanwhile the cold eyes of the killer stare out at ice cream customers from the side of the packaging.

"In some instances he appears in cartoon form in a Swastika-shaped top hat with a jaunty red bowtie, which is somewhat at odds with his furious expression. 

"Other more sombre packages depict him in full military regalia with almost photographic realism, looking very out of place next to an ice cream that's almost as big as he is.

"But all the boxes of cones have the notorious moustache on display.

"A lack of Holocaust education in India means that people on the sub-continent know little about the Nazi leader, and consequently Hitler-themed pubs and restaurants are not viewed with outrage.

"But back in the country that struggles to shake off his murderous legacy 70 years after his death, it is a different story.

"News of the Hitler ice cream cones provoked a furious response on websites calling for the brand to be withdrawn.

"One spectator in Berlin, said: ‘There is taste and there is tastelessness. The people of India should be made aware of the terrible crimes committed by him.’

"German newspaper Bild labelled the ice cream cones a ‘macabre publicity stunt’, while several Twitter users branded them ‘tasteless!’"
