Johnny Cash - "God's Gonna Cut You Down"

I posted this because SER posted about Johnny Cash a few blogs down.

It's also pertinent to local news.

The Attorneys for the Plaintiffs are interesting:

Kohler & Hart out of Milwaukee:

The attorneys of Kohler & Hart, one of Wisconsin’s finest criminal defense law firms, are dedicated to representing clients who have been accused or charged in federal and state criminal matters. At Kohler & Hart, our attorneys are licensed to practice in various states before multiple federal, state, and appellate courts. When it comes to your defense, experience matters. Turn to the skilled criminal defense attorneys of Kohler & Hart to provide you with exceptional legal representation as you face criminal charges.

The attorneys of Kohler & Hart understand that we are not only fighting for your rights, but also for the future of your family, job, and reputation. The criminal defense lawyers of Kohler & Hart will do everything in our power to ensure that your rights are protected, your interests are safeguarded, and your entitlement to a fair legal proceeding is maintained.

They advertise as Criminal Defense Lawyers, who know all the tricks - and now they are representing the Plaintiffs! Looks like the former tactics of having an appointed "sleeping ethics" board judge the complaint isn't going to work this time. I'd like to see the evidence that they have which backs the extraordinary claims.

The second firm, Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney, Ltd., is National in scope.

We've taken the phrase "We make the complex simple" to heart because it gets to the heart of what we do as trial attorneys. Success in litigation requires parties to grapple with complicated concepts. The challenge may involve new medical technologies or advanced theories of engineering. A case may hinge on science and the ability to identify what is authentic, and what is not. Or it may involve complex business relationships, layers of insurance and reinsurance, or new rules governing workplace relations or professional responsibility.

Whatever the case, our work for clients requires us to get at the truth of these complexities, and convey it in such a way that a judge or a jury has a simple choice to make. We appreciate that juries are careful investigators of the truth, and that judges take a dim view of advocates who gloss over complexities instead of doing the hard work of distilling them to their essence. There is a critical difference between "simple" and "simplistic."

We make the complex simple in order to get at the truth of our clients' positions and convey that truth to those whose duty it is to try the facts. We do it every day on some of the most cutting-edge technical issues and convoluted concepts of causation and liability to be found. It's not the only way to practice law, but it's our way.

How do the Defendants answer:

42. Dickert also received thousands of dollars in personal loans that were deposited into his personal bank account. The personal loans, which came from sources including a family member living outside the State of Wisconsin and a member of Dickert’s campaign staff, were elicited for the purpose of circumventing the maximum allowable campaign contributions. Dickert then used the proceeds to write checks to his campaign under the guise that they were coming from a personal loan Dickert made to his own campaign fund. With the full knowledge and consent of Dickert, the loans were then fraudulently reported by Dickert’s campaign staff on campaign finance reports, as the true identities of the donors were never revealed. The fraudulent loan monies were deposited in the bank account of Dickert’s campaign organization, “The Friends of Dickert.”

The Plaintiffs didn't just pull this allegation out of thin air without any documentation/proof or an Insider talking - I'm highly curious to see the evidence.

And how does Dickert respond? He hasn't come out and said it is a lie. Why not? No one wants to talk about some of these more interesting points. The Journal Times isn't spotlighting them - they want to emphasize "RACE". So - who's playing the RACE card? Let's forget about Race and the bars - did Dickert violate campaign contribution laws? How about Nicholson and LeGath - and the Racine Tavern League? Are political contributions coming from illegal gambling operations being run at bars? That's a problem - and the machines and pull tabs need to be removed from the bars. It's tainting politics and a source of corruption. I believe the politicians look the other way because they, along with law enforcement, are the beneficiaries of the illegal gambling that is going on.

I want to see John Dickert on the stand - UNDER OATH - and have to answer the questions - UNDER PENALTIES OF PERJURY.

Meanwhile:

RCTL DIRECTOR BLANCA WEBERS RUNNING FOR 12TH DISTRICT ALDERMAN

We are pleased to report that one of our own leaders, RCTL Director Blanca Webers from Casablanca
De Mexico Bar & Restaurant is running for the 12th District Aldermanic seat on the City Council.

Blanca is a graduate of the Leadership Racine Program and has been an active community volunteer.
Several of our members are helping with her campaign and will be seeking additional help at the next
meeting.

Please help us get one of
our own elected!

YEP - it's one of The Tavern League's OWN! Not the People of Racine - and she will be sure to bring the taint of the Dickert Disaster with her.

Because, Henry Perez, current Alderman of the 12th. District is beginning to question Dickert, and has strayed off the reservation.

Will the monied self-interests of Downtown Racine and The Tavern League elect yet another unquestioningly obedient Dickert Toadie to office?

Three Racine City Council seats will be contested

Incumbent Krystyna Sarrazin squares off against challenger Kimberly Kane in the 2nd District, incumbent James Kaplan takes on Daryl Lee Carter in the 4th District and 12th District Alderman Henry Perez faces Blanca L. Webers in the April 1 general election.

How many singers and celebrities did you recognize in the video? When I first saw the video and Iggy Pop came on, I thought WTF? There's Kris Kristofferson, Patti Smith, Cheryl Crow, Keith Richards, Bono, Chris Rock, Kid Rock, ZZ Top and a slew more.

Oh?

I was supposed to watch the video for other famous Celebrities and Singers?

SHIT! I got sidetracked somewhere.

I'm Sorry.

I was talking to our collective audience (i.e., some guy sitting naked at his computer playing with himself). I like the song. I was surprised by the celebs when I watched the video. With the flowers tossed at cliffside near the end, I assume this is a tribute to Johnny Cash.

Never really was a Johnny Cash fan, even though I have a huge respect for his music. This song, however, I can really dig!
