iChill Testing Results by SER

I took the iChill challenge last night and these are my findings:

Container – I had to put my glasses on to find the spot where to “tear” it open. They should make that area ‘white’ verses the same as the rest of the package.

Aroma – Smelled like cough syrup, definitely a smell of its own.

Taste – Like an unsweetened cough syrup. Reminded of sugar free soda which leaves an after taste in your mouth

Consistency – it is like a soda, not thick like cough syrup.

When I took it, I just shot it right down, no sipping or nursing it, hammered like a shot of tequila!

Now I do have to stop here and let you know I do take several prescription meds, for high blood pressure and cholesterol, oh and rat poison (Warfarin).

About 15 minutes after shoot’in iChill down, I could feel pressure in my chest. I did not like the feeling.

iChill does have a warning on their label to “seek advise from your healthcare professional before taking this product”. Well he was not available at 11pm when I took it!

Final Results – I did stay up for approximately one and half hours after I drank the product. I could not feel any additional relaxation overtaking my body. The added pressure in my chest started to rescind and I went to bed.

In Conclusion – this product is not for me. I do have one more bottle, which I will pass along to one of my kids and see what they feel about.

iChill Redux, Redux

The iChill was handed out at the JT Irregulars Christmas Party last night and I snagged two bottles. They're tiny: 2 oz. each. "Blissful berry" is the flavor. After I got home from the get-together, I opened one up and sniffed it. It smelled like candy. I drank half of it and then paused to taste it. It tasted vaguely familiar, again, like some sort of candy, but not any particular fruit or berry. I didn't find it unpleasant, but I wouldn't buy a bottle of something just for that flavor. I finished it off.

I have to concur with the previous irregular reviewers that the iChill "relaxation shot" did nothing noticeable for me. After an hour, I forgot about it, and I stayed up as late as usual last night. However, I would like to point out to http://www.bigmethod.com/, and all other potential advertising agencies, that I would be much more likely to skew my review towards the favorable if I were given, say, a new vehicle or computer to review. Just saying . . .

I had a great time last night and want to thank Beejay for the delicious Honey Dews (is that what they're called? - my brain is shot), a cross of tangerine and grapefruit. I had one last night and it was yummy. Also, very juicy, so be forewarned, fellow irregulars.

More Mail

Sorry, I'm a bit late on this one. We received the following email on December 21 from the people who gave the JTI (or, as they seem to prefer, a person named JT who calls his blogs Irregulars) a free case of iChill three months ago: http://www.jtirregulars.com/2009/09/interesting-email-that-we-received.html

Hey JT,

Happy Holidays from the folks over at bigMETHOD and iChill! We would love to send you some iChill to help you guys escape from those holiday stresses. Be sure to let me know if you are interested!

iChill is also going to be featured on Good Morning America in a trends of ’09 -’10 segment airing on New Year’s Day! Be sure to check it out and have a fabulous holiday!

Cheers,

Jena

Both Lizardmom and kkdither tried the iChill and posted their reviews:

http://www.jtirregulars.com/2009/10/ichill-in-house.html
http://www.jtirregulars.com/2009/10/ichill-trial.html

We still have nine bottles of the beverage to give out at the next gathering, and no one at JTI Central is particularily interested in more. So we thought we'd ask if anyone else had ideas. Should we just accept another twelve and pass out twice as much at the next get-together? Is anyone out there interested in the entire case? Any thoughts? Advice?

Happy New Year!

The iChill Trial - Lizardmom's review too (update)

** see lizardom's review below**
First, let me say that it was very cool that we were direct marketed with freebies. The irregulars were noticed.

We've fulfilled our part by blogging and upping the buzz, so to speak.
(pun intended) Last night I gave the free sample a whirl.

The bottle calls it a relaxationshot. Maybe this babe is too stressed out to relax, as I was not so impressed. Two ounces in the bottle of a clear liquid with a very sweet taste, but a distinct artificial sweetener aftertaste. (I hate that, my tongue still feels dry) The flavor sent to us was blissful berry. I've downed worse.

I didn't drink half, I was brave and downed the whole thing. I sat for an hour or so waiting for some effect. Nothing exciting happened. I don't believe I felt one bit more relaxed or sleepy. I went to bed and slept. I woke at a normal time.

The vitamins can't hurt. The natural ingredients probably won't hurt anything. But will it help?

I checked with the experts at Mayo clinic. Here is a direct quote from a Mayo Clinic Internist, Brent A. Bauer,MD. "If you're thinking of taking melatonin supplements to treat insomnia, there's little evidence that taking melatonin supplements will help you fall asleep significantly faster or help you stay asleep longer." I have to agree with that statement.

Their website says the cost is about $4.00 per shot. Hmmm. As our new friend, jedwis said, vodka is cheaper and probably more effective... certainly more potent.

Don't go totally by my opinion. We need to let others try it. Some of our irregulars do not dip into stronger spirits and are more inclined to use herbal and natural supplements. I know Lizardmom has been toting one around with her. Drink up lady! We need a second opinion! There are more available for the testing. Regular irregulars can email Liz or come to the next get-together.

Sorry iChill, I can't give it a thumbs up. I knew someone who once said that when you try something new, you live a day longer. I can always say that by trying iChill, I extended my life through the experience.

Well guys, you have no idea how badly I want to give this rave reviews. I am very familiar with valerian root as a herbal supplement. I have used it before, but never could get past the stink. So here are the highlights of my try of
ichill -
1. No valerian stench - awesome!
2. I tried this while really annoyed and had a very sore neck and
shoulder muscles.
I'm still annoyed but my muscles are a bit more relaxed and not as sore -
that's a good thing, tho i wish it would have done a little more.
3. The taste wasn't too bad but drinking out of such a small opening proved
more challenging than me on a bad day could handle :(

Personally, all in all I would give it a 6 out of 10, not bad, but could be tweaked a bit stronger (at least for me - and I'm very sensitive to stuff)

Ichill folks, if you make an extra strength version, I would love to try it again :)

iChill in the House!

iChill is in the house! A cute little pack of 12 bottles was delivered to the JTI.

I have not downed any yet. I opted for a White Russian (maybe 2) for my TGIF celebration. I have begun the required investigation, though, and that bad boy is definitely going down tonight.

First, let me say it is a cute little blue bottle with the slogan, "unwind from the grind" on the label. Catchy! It contains a mere 2 ounces. No calories, no sugar.

Their website recommends that you only drink half the first time to see how you react individually to the product. You can always down the rest in a little bit if you need "enhanced" relaxation effects. Good idea. I guess I could react like a little flower.... gee.

Not recommended if you are pregnant, nursing, on anti-coagulants, are diabetic, are under 12 years of age, or driving or operating heavy machinery. Check, check, check... none of the above will abort the launch.

The main ingredients are:
A sprinkling of B vitamins: B3, B6, B12 and B5. The B vitamins seem fairly non threatening. Flushing seems to be the worst thing that could occur, just a little case of the vapors, as they used to say. They are also water soluble so that gets a pass from me.

Valerian Root:
Supposed to help with insomnia. A sedative and pain reliever. Can be used as an anti migraine preparation or in the relief of IBS. (I included that info for you, logjam) Wikipedia says oils of this plant are pungent and reminiscent of wet dog or mature cheese. Can't wait to taste that flavor combo! It also is said to be used as a muscle relaxant, now you're talking! ;>

Rose Hips:
Contain a lot of vitamin C. Also has some vitamin D and E. Good enough stuff for me. Rose Hips has claims by some for helping Arthritis and Rheumatism. Contains fatty acids and antioxidant flavonoids. I don't think I could say that three times quickly. Wikipedia says it is a healthy treat for pet chinchillas. Okay, huh?

I'm pretty certain they had no idea what type of scrutiny they were getting into when sending this to us.... Maybe they should have read a bit more at our website before offering complimentary samples?

As soon as the effects of my little TGIF party wear off and I am safely in jammies, I will be your guinea pig.... or pet chinchilla.

More on the trial to come. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Thank you, Kelly. We've decided to accept your offer of a case of iChill. Perhaps we'll distribute it at our next get-together. We'll be sure to sample one and write a review.

We're delighted with the attention. It is very much appreciated.

Oh, and if you could, please don't call us JT. JTI is fine, thank you, or JT Irregulars, or just about anything else, but never, ever JT. Please.

Thank you again for your kindness.
