we have a wonderful neighbor with a riding, enclosed snowblower who goes around doing the driveways if he gets up before the rest of us, such an awesome guy.Our driveway was drifted over really high and he has it almost open again, before my eyes are open. I think I need to bake up something awesome for him :)

We are having a heat wave this weekend - 60's. But Monday we will be back in the 20's. What do you do.

I'm off to buy kitchen dish towels. Oh what an exciting life I lead.

LM - The outside Christmas lights came down last night. I can't wait to see how long you go.

Mary- I seen LM yesterday and she said hers are still up and when she gets home from work she turns them on. Enjoy your heat wave this weekend. Monday and Tuesday are temps are going below zero.

LM- That is a really nice neighbor to do that for other neighbors.

Beejay- I am staying warm by not going outside. But Drew had to work overtime today so he was up and out at 330 this morning.

Since my knee felt a bit better yesterday, I decided to do the laundry (Whites are MY forte) The room where the washer and dryer are is not heated, so It freezes the hoses etc from time to time. It has also broken the water pump, when a chip of ice broke the cheap impeller blades off In the pump. I loaded the machine up, and turned It on, and of course something was frozen, so I spent the next hour with a hair dryer heating the hoses, anyhow It finally worked, and I later went back In to switch from the washer to the dryer. THE WASHER was full of hot water, and doing nothing. My natural instinct was that since I thawed all the hoses, the pump must be broken. I squeezed the water out of the 20 pound towels, and stuff, and emptied all the water with a 1 pound coffee can, so I flipped the washer over, and proceeded to take the pump off, and It was fine, nothing wrong. The drain hose was laying next to me on the floor, so I tried blowing air through It just to be sure, and the hose had a hunk of ice blocking It. Finally after all of that work, I thawed THAT hose, and everything Is back to normal, except ME. Now my knee Is back to being very sore, and my back Is also very sore. I love owning a home. OH, BTW, this morning the dryer wouldn't turn on. The knob cracked where It attaches to the shaft, and wouldn't set the time. Since I save everything, I had several knobs from other appliances, and put It on, and the dryer Is now back to normal. "Life Is Good" MY ASS.

Toad, perhaps you should wait until spring to do your laundry.
You can always take your clothes over to the Wisconsin river and use a wash board during the winter.
I think that's how Pokeherhiney did her clothes in the old days.
I agree with you that life with pain is no fun. Stay warm!

I had plans for this weekend, but cancelled. I'm choosing to hibernate.

One false move on the road by you or by someone else when the wind and cold and drifts are present, could be an emergency waiting to happen. I'm hibernating instead.

I believe I still have a glass or two of Merlot left in the fridge and a movie on DVD from a friend to watch.

we haven't had outdoor lights in years but my tree and decorations are still up inside, and lit when I'm home. I have a neighbor who is also not in a hurry to take his down, and keeps his lit as well (gotta support each other, ya know!), I think we'll be holding strong into February. The only thing that could derail that, is the challenge I gave to hubby, that if he'd get his stuff done (project in the livingroom corner), then I would take the decorations down. He lacks motivation, so I think I'm safe, maybe til March!

Toad, I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune. Winter is tough on everything.

LM, your neighbors sound great.

legal, That's a riot. I think I saw Pokeherheiny at WalMart In Lake Delton yesterday. May be part of the Fukawai tribe?
