Dangerous Path

El Caminito del Rey is a walking path located in southern Spain near the town of Alora. This path built, in 1901, was used to transport materials and for the inspection and maintence of the channel between two hydroelectric powerplants. The walkway was finished in 1905. Since then, the walkway fell into disrepair, providing a homeage for some thrillseekers. Some have died taking this path.

Here's a cool link filled with pictures that is worth checking out. Also included a video of somebody walking the path. Warning-this is not for the timid.

I think some people are nuts...

Videos like this make me feel queasy in the pit of my stomach. Videos shot from roller coasters can make me sick, too.

That is really cool. Now it would be interesting to see how they got all the materials in there to put it together. OOOOOh my back aches just thinking about it.

Yeah, but it looks like a whole bunch of 'thrill-seekers,' read 'nuttier than fruitcake types,' were up there...so get out of my way and off the side you go. aiiiiiiiiiiiaaaaiiiii. thump.

Not for me... I walked across a very high bridge over the Mississippi one time. Scared the you-know-what out of me and there was a chain link fence keeping me from falling. Even the Golden Gate Bridge didn't scare me as much as that.
