Vatican 2.0: Pope gets his own YouTube channel

Are they still going to block access to YouTube in Catholic schools?

Oh boy and here is what I rec'd from a friend today. Just for smiles, Orbs.

The elderly priest, speaking to the younger priest,
> said, 'You had a good idea to replace the first four
> pews with plush bucket theatre seats. It worked like
> a charm. The front of the church always fills first
> now.'
>
> The young priest nodded, and the old priest
> continued, 'And you told me adding a little more
> beat to the music would bring young people back
> to church, so I supported you when you brought in
> that rock 'n roll gospel choir. Now our services
> are consistently packed to the balcony.'
>
>
> 'Thank you, Father,' answered the young priest. 'I
> am pleased that you are open to the new ideas of
> youth.'
>
> 'All of these ideas have been well and good,' said
> the elderly priest, 'But I'm afraid you've gone too
> far with the drive-thru confessional.'
>
> 'But Father,' protested the young priest, ' my
> confessions and the donations have nearly doubled
> since I began that!'
>
> 'Yes,' replied the elderly priest, 'and I appreciate
> that.... But the flashing neon sign, 'Toot 'n Tell or
> Go to Hell' cannot stay on the church roof.'

They should just go back to selling indulgences outright. They could even set up a website where you could purchase forgiveness with a credit card or PayPal.

I notice that the Pope voiced his concerns about the internet usurping "real" social interaction, just like so many other "experts" have done. That's ironic in light of Abby's and others' comments here about how we bloggers might not have ever met if not for this site. I administrate another site that has people posting from around the world. So far, there have been three marriages (with two children born), numerous romances, and hundreds of meetings amongst members.

As usual, the "experts" are quick to moralize. The internet isn't isolating people, it's connecting people, and the power brokers hate it when people are connected and informed. It makes it so much harder to subjugate them.
