No Surprise Here!

Dear City of Racine Alderpersons,

It appears that the corrupt Courts and Judges of Racine County are just there to provide cover for the criminal misdeeds of Public Officials and the wealthy – it happens again, and again, and again. Anything goes for those with the right political connections.

Past outrages include:

Racine County Circuit Judge Gerald Ptacek ruling that John Dickert was acting in his official capacity as Mayor while he was campaigning during a radio interview at WRJN. Thus forcing City of Racine taxpayers to pay John Dickert’s S100,000 legal bills? A ruling which any competent Judge or conscious public would know was – at best – LAUGHABLE, and downright contrary to the laws of State of Wisconsin!  Because IF John Dickert was campaigning while Mayor, it would be a criminal act!

Racine County Circuit Judge Eugene Gasiorkiewicz sentencing convicted child molester Curt Johnson, worth $2.7 billion, to 4 months is the County Jail, and a  $6,000 fine as part of his punishment for two misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct. He pleaded guilty to both back in June.He didn't even have to register as a SEX OFFENDER!
Both charges were drastically amended; Johnson was initially charged with repeated sexual assault of a child, which is a felony.
And now the latest outrage, from Racine County Circuit Judge Eugene Gasiorkiewicz:
...after meeting with lawyers in his chambers (concerning Sandy Weidner’s Open Records lawsuit) , telling others there for the hearing that they had to leave because he was sealing the case.
The judge said recently he sealed the case “because of the nature of the action. It’s one that shouldn’t be open. I made a public policy determination.”
But wasn’t it an open records case? “I’m sorry, I can’t tell you. It’s sealed,” Gasiorkiewicz said.
As for City of Racine Attorney Scott Letteney - it's amazing that he finds for such harassing nonsense since he must also perform his duties as Town of Geneva Municipal Judge. At least City of Racine's part time City Attorney/Town of Geneva Municipal Judge has good connections with the corrupt Courts and Judges of Racine County.
Sincerely,
Tim & Cindy
Judge Gasiorkiewicz,

Are you fukking nuts?

In the past I have documented that the Racine County court system is a corrupt cesspool of scheming and complicit judges, a corrupt district attorney (Michael Nieskes) who engaged in the criminal act of filing a false affidavit into court records and a dirty judge (Gerald Ptacek) who protected the piece of shit Michael Nieskes from being subpoenaed into court to impeach his testimony of his false affidavit.

But - Never in my wildest of dreams would I have expected to see the day where a circuit court case is completely remove from the court dockets to avoid public scrutiny.

To further add insult, a complicit court of Appeals  is also engaged in the egregious conduct  of not docketing the court case. These acts are against the public's right to oversee our courts (however derelict and corrupt they may be).

You judge Gasiorkiewicz have reach another new low - even for the ever corrupt 2nd district circuit court.

How proud 2nd. district circuit court Chief Judge Jason Rossell must be overseeing such contemptible acts upon the public.

I request the assigned court docket case # of your sealed court case involving Sandy Weidner and I want the docket # immediately.

Please see Open Records Request attachment.

Respectfully submitted,
Legal Stranger

Cory & Company make DeGroot & Company look like Pikers.

A Racine County judge said he's only sealed one case in his career. The case he chose to hide from taxpayers and Racine city residents? A petition for access to public records.
The unusual case, now on appeal but also absent from the Court of Appeals web-based index, has only come to light because a maverick Racine Common Council member got tired of what she calls growing secrecy and concentrated power in her local government.
"To me, it’s a huge issue," said Sandy Weidner. "I’m willing to defy the judge's order that it’s sealed."
Advocates for open government are astounded and have never heard of a public records suit being sealed, or any kind of case without some record of who the parties are and why it was under seal.
"Everything I know about this case seems atrocious," said Bill Lueders, president of the Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council.
"These communications should never have been withheld. The trial court judge should never have allowed this matter to be adjudicated in secret. His decision should not have been sealed. The appellate court should not have allowed this secrecy to extend to the appeal."
"These are low-level communications from local residents about local issues, not the  Pentagon Papers," Lueders said.
Patrick Kabat, a First Amendment lawyer in Cleveland who leads a First Amendment clinic at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, said it's unheard of for a judge to seal an entire case without some public record of why.
"This is not a public records issue, it’s a courts access issue," he said, "and state open meetings law doesn’t control that, it can’t be wished away."
Kabat said his clinic's focus is "reminding courts there are two parties in front of them, but the forgotten third party is the public. And its right is enforceable."

Man accused of biting 3-year-old's face

From The Journal Times.com:

Monroe
RACINE — A Racine man is facing charges after allegedly biting a 3-year-old girl in the face and beating her mother.

Timothy H. Monroe, 19, of the 1000 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, is charged with felony counts of physical abuse of a child, intentionally causing bodily harm, and false imprisonment, and misdemeanor battery.

.....

As of Tuesday afternoon, Monroe remained in custody on a $500 cash bond and a $5,000 signature bond, online records show. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 3 at the Law Enforcement Center, 717 Wisconsin Ave.

This guy's cash bond is $500.  Once again, Racine demonstrates its antipathy toward children.  Mr. Monroe should be bitten on the face and punched in the eye.

Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello, all God's chillun.  Blessings upon you.  You've got great weather for another mass shooting.  But you must hurry up.  A cold front is on the way: https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/wi/racine/KWIRACIN70?cm_ven=localwx_10day
We've been fortunate that we had few days of real heat.  Not enough rain, but that's true of almost every growing season now.  Climate change can be felt everywhere, but there's not a lot we can do about it.  It's the huge industrial producers, especially overseas, that poison our air and water.  We better start taking care of this planet or the UFOs will,

As Ms. Tender Heart Bear proclaimed in another thread, she is in second place in this week's standings in the Irregular Footbal League.

I'm in fifth place and Mr. OrbsCorbs is in sixth.  Mr. hale-boppremains the man to beat.  Go get him, Ms. Tender Heart Bear.

In professional football, our Green Bat Packers had to settle for a tie with the Minnesota Vikings.  Pretty soon Aaron Rodgers will have a brace attached to every joint on his body.  The $19.8 million dollar man.  I want so badly to believe, but I know that Mr. Rodgers will be further injured.  It's his karma, or kismet.  All those millions have purchased us a porcelain doll.  Watch how easily he breaks.

I remember the old days of Bart Starr and shrugging off an injury.  No prima donnas then.  Those days are long past.  Back then, they played football.  Today, they perform.

My condolences to the family of the Mount Pleasant public works employee who was killed by a car.

And my condolences to the family of Alderman Ray DeHahn.  Not too many are willing to serve like he did.

Indeed, most people don't give a damn about local politics, just so long as their money keeps coming in.  At times I feel that we're a city of idiots ruled over by even bigger idiots.  What does it matter?  Who cares?  Just a few.  Most people are too busy with their own lives to get involved in politics.  The politicians count on that.  Thus they rule the roost.

Junior is back driving again.  I haven't asked SeƱor Zanza about the details, and I don't intend to.  I assume that what they're doing is legal.  If it's not, they'll get busted.  Junior is cursed with the Zoltar curse: an inability to commit crime.  He's gotten around it in the past, but now he seems more mellow and trusting.  He's getting older.

Mr. Trump has been extraordinarily quiet this past week.  Now that most of his key staff members are under investigation, he has quieted down.  Perhaps he knows what's next, what will be revealed.  He might get impeached yet.

That's it.  I love you all and wish for nothing but the best for you.  I love readers of my blog.  We are family.

Mushroom Clod

All summer long I got my dinky apartment’s windows sprung wide so’s to attract a gentle cooling breeze and soothe my heated brow. And all summer long—morning, noon and night—all I heard was the constant kvetching from a focking uber-flock of winged rats hell-bent on keeping me sleep deprived.
And what do these garbage birds really need to communicate to each other that’s so important—“Hey, I just flew by the corner of Water Street and Juneau and saw some college knob puke his guts out; so beaks off. That vomit is mine, assholes.”
So yesterday, I closed my windows what with the finally weather. I took a stroll around the neighborhood and noticed there was nary a suck-ass seagull to be seen or heard. I rushed back to my dinky apartment for a soothing snooze, the first in months. Mission accomplished.
And I awoke from some stupid dream during which I had shaved half my dome smooth as a baby’s butt and then grew my hair on the other half extra-long so I could comb it over the bald half. I got to tell you, when I start having dreams about fashion, my world is crumbling. I hate fashion. And I hate dreams. For christ sakes, you fall asleep and all of a sudden your brain becomes some kind of focking avant-garde film director high on LSD? Sleep is overrated, what the fock, ain’a?
So I became awake, put on the TV and thought I heard that the History Channel’s going to repeat a show coming up about big-deal historical discoveries and discoverers—probably the usual suspects, you know, your fire, movable type, Tyco Brahe, flight, Albert Einstein, combustion engine, the transistor, Leonardo da focking Vinci—which sounded like a good chance for me to further catch up on my sleep-time and then awaken with restored energy for pissing and moaning.
But hey, I’ll bet you a buck two-eighty one thing they won’t mention on that show is the discovery of the liquor store. I tell you, the guy who came up with that kind of scheme should be in the historical hall of fame. Only a thousand years ago, I don’t know if people even had stores for anything much less one devoted only to good times stored in bottles on shelves that are never empty. I suppose hundreds and hundreds of years ago, if a regular guy had a taste for a little eye opener, he had to go make his own. What a pain in the butt, ain’a? Probably what happened is that breakthroughs in political theory proved that the more time spent making hootch, the less time spent drinking it—an equation that gave rise to wars that could last a hundred years at a crack, I kid you not.
And I’ll bet this show won’t touch on the importance of the discovery of the gentlemen’s periodical and its role in the creation of the modern society we enjoy today. Hard to imagine the hoops you’d have to jump through even 500 years ago just to see a gal buck-naked. Sure, a lot of those old-fart fine-art painters you might’ve heard of in school knew from putting skin on canvas, but during their time in the Middle Ages, most of their paintings were scooped up by some kind of liege lord and locked up for safekeeping in a dank castle, unavailable for the perusal and edification of the common Joe Blow pissant.
HOLD ON! Just read this excerpt from the Stormy Daniels soon-to-be-released book, Full Disclosure. This, from NBC News: Daniels had lingering remorse over the experience for years, writing that any time she'd see Trump on television, she’d think: “I had sex with that, I’d say to myself. Eech.”
So let’s get out of here with a little story: So this little kid just got potty trained. But when he went to the bathroom to go Number One, the kid managed to hit everything but the toilet. So mom had to go clean up every time the kid went to take a leak. After two weeks, she had enough and took him the doctor.
After the exam, the doctor said, “My good woman. The problem for your son is that his, shall we say, ‘unit’ is too small. An old wives’ tale is to give him two slices of toast each morning, and his unit will grow so that he can hold it and aim straight. You may want to try that.”
Next morning the little kid jumped out of bed and ran downstairs to the kitchen. There on the table are 12 slices of toast. “Mom!” the kid says. “The doctor said I only had to eat two slices.” The mother says, “I know. The other ten are for your father.”
Ba-ding! ’cause I’m Art Kumbalek and I “toad” you so.

Murphy confirmed the identity of the man killed as 61-year-old Dan Huck.
“We are heartbroken by the loss of Dan Huck. Dan was struck by a vehicle yesterday while doing his job. Our thoughts are with Dan's family as they grieve his loss,” Murphy said in a statement sent out to Mount Pleasant employees Tuesday morning.

GARSKI FOUND NOT GUILTY AFTER VILLAGE FILES MUNICIPAL COURT COMPLAINT

A Better Mount Pleasant Sends:
Former Village President Jerry Garski was found not guilty Thursday, September 13, of violating a village ordinance over his home-based business. Wind Point Municipal Judge John Knuteson dismissed the case against Garski, ending a nearly two-year battle with the village that began with multiple complaints filed in 2016 by Trustee Anna Marie Clausen and former Community Development Authority Chair Pat Barlament.
Knuteson ruled that Garski possessed the appropriate permits and licenses approved by village officials in 2011 to operate his business in Mt. Pleasant, validating Garski’s original and consistent assertions that he had not violated village ordinances.
News of the original complaints against Garski were published in November 2016, when four separate complaints about Garski’s properties and businesses were filed within a 24-hour period by Clausen and Barlament.
The complaints against Garski led to additional allegations by Safebuilt, LLC, the independent agency hired by the village to investigate and a State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services Review Board investigation filed by the Village of Mt. Pleasant and Safebuilt, LLC.
In November 2017, the Village of Mt. Pleasant cited Garski for operating his business on his property, a violation of his conditional use permit - which could have resulted in a fine of $6,250 - forcing Garski to suspend operation of his business and to retain legal counsel to represent him.
In June 2018, the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professionals Services Review Board dismissed the complaints against Garski, stated that both Safebuilt and the Village of Mt. Pleasant had failed to provide sufficient evidence of violations.
Following the state’s dismissal, the Village of Mt. Pleasant attempted to offer Garski a deal in which they would dismiss the citation with prejudice, if Garski would agree to pay the village’s legal fees of $1,250. Their offer reserved the village’s right to impose future citations against him if he continued to operate his business.
Garski declined, saying he was not violating village ordinances and possessed the appropriate permits and licenses for his business. He said he would rather go to court.
A few weeks later, the village offered to split the cost of their legal fees with Garski for $650, again with prejudice and the potential for future citations. Garski said no.
Knuteson’s ruling on Thursday represents not just the end of Garski’s effort to defend himself, but also eliminates the waste of taxpayer funds spent by the village by having the following public employees fruitlessly pursue the allegations against him:
- Village of Mt. Pleasant Interim Administrator and Police Chief Tim Zarzecki
- Village Clerk/Treasurer Stephanie Kohlhagen
- Village of Mt. Pleasant Planning Director Sam Schultz
- South Shore Fire Department Chief Bob Stedman
- Mt. Pleasant Village Building Inspector Leonard Hannula
- Mt. Pleasant Clerk’s Office staff
- Mt. Pleasant Police Department staff
- South Shore Fire Department staff
- Mt. Pleasant Building Department staff
- State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional -Services Investigator
- State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services Paralegal Staff
- State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services Review Board
- Wind Point Municipal Judge John Knuteson
- Wind Point Municipal Clerk
In addition to the municipal complaints filed against Garski, Clausen and others also filed a host of additional complaints against him and asked for public requests related to his time as both a village trustee and village president:
- Hundreds of public records on Garski going back years were requested by Clausen and Sam Wahlen, the son of former Village Administrator Kurt Wahen.
- Wahlen filed a complaint with the Racine County District Attorney’s office against Garski saying he was violating campaign finance laws.
- Village Clerk Stephane Kohlhagen accused Garski of harassment for not getting a bigger raise.
- Garski’s opponent, Dave DeGroot, suggested Garski was involved in the egging of his house, issuing a press release and filing a police report during the April 2017 election.
Please see the timeline of events posted below as evidence that these complaints were fueled by purely political reasons. All complaints were determined unfounded, and all records requested led to no additional action against Garski.
The village has 20 days to appeal Judge Knuteson’s ruling.

Four for Fridays!

Good morning everyone I hope all of you enjoyed the week. I looks like next week we will be getting rain again. Here are your questions.

1) Did someone move out on you that you really cared about?

2) What was the reason for that person to move out?

3) Did you let them move back in?

4) What happened at the end of it all?

Have a great weekend!

Top 10 reasons NOT to move to Wisconsin. The Packers aren't one of them.

Putting Everyone at Risk

Oh my.

Northern lights might - the operative word is might - be visible in Wisconsin skies tonight

From JSOnline:

The Northern Lights, or the Aurora Borealis. The Vikings thought it was a road to the Gods, but we now know exactly what those beautiful lights actually are. Buzz60

Northern lights are seen in a 30-second exposure taken at Elsworth Park in Bayside on Oct. 24, 2011.(Photo: Mike De Sisti / Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)

Not saying it will happen, but scientists are predicting this evening could be a good night in Wisconsin to see the pulsing, lava lamp-esque phenomena in the sky known as the northern lights.
The Space Weather Prediction Center issued a geomagnetic storm watch for Tuesday that shows Wisconsin smack dab in the center of the most likely area for the aurora borealis, the fancy name for northern lights.
If the lights deign to show up, the good news is that night skies throughout most of Wisconsin will be clear tonight, though some parts of northwestern Wisconsin could get high clouds, said Marcia Cronce, a National Weather Service meteorologist based in Sullivan.
What sometimes looks like a neon blanket thrown against the night sky is actually electrically charged particles from the sun colliding with gaseous particles entering the Earth's atmosphere. While green and pink are the most common colors, the northern lights can feature quite a few more hues including red, yellow, blue and violet.
The lights can also be seen in the southern hemisphere where they're called aurora australis.

Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello, my angels, from heaven or otherwise!  How are you?  I'm doing well, I guess.  The Packers' incredible save of the game made me feel good, though I have to agrewith Mr. OrbsCorbs that Aaron Rodgers is injury prone.  He'll probably play the game in a wheelchair if he has to.  My God, we're paying him enough.  I haven't figured it out, but I'm sure each game is worth over a million dollars to Aaron Rodgers.  Whether he plays or not.  It would almost seem that his strategy is to go out on the field, get hurt, and miss the rest of the season.  Next week we'll be told that the obdoolong nerve in his right knee is crushed and he's out for the season.  Maybe his second banana won't turn out so bad.  He's learning on the job.

Here are the Irregular Football League standings for this week:

My, o my, look who's in second place.  Mr. hale-bopp is already in first place.  Grr.  Darm that scientific mind.

I can't wait to see the arches sandwiching downtown.  I bet you that they make the area look cheap.  If people have to be told that they are in downtown, maybe downtown is the problem.  Whatever.  I believe that far, far too much time and money is spent on this small area.  Racine runs out to Highway 31 in some areas.  How about arches for the other areas of Racine?  You know, like "Welcome to Uptown!" and "Now you're in West Racine"  and "Now you;re in trouble.  Thus is a high crime area."  Maaybe the arches should be high-tech, with an electronic read out that could be changed as necessary.  From "Welcome to Downtown!" during the day to "Welcome to Sodom and Gomorrah" at night.

Want to bring more visitors downtown?  Extend I-794 through Racine.  There's a heck of a lot more drivers than boaters.  And no, they're not going away as oil reserves dwindle.  They'll just change propulsion systems to natural gas, hydrogen, electricity, etc.  Thus predicts Madame Zoltar!

The weather's been nice, except when it's raining.  The cool nights are good for sleeping and the warm days are good for fun.  I hope that you're getting some joy out of this.  Soon the weather will be good for sleeping 24 hours.  I hate winter.  Hate it, hate it, hate it!

I love you all and thank you for reading my blog this week.  Tell your friends and neighbors about Madame Zoltar.  I welcome everybody.

madamezoltar@jtirregulars.com

It's not winter yet.  Get out and have some fun.  Go to the zoo or take a tour of the J-wax tower.  Check out the smaller towns in Racine County.  They really need arches to identify thenmselves.  Watch a sunset and sunrise.  Just do it.

Wahoopatuli

From The Shepherd Express:

by
Next, how ’bout those heart-attack Packers? Next up, Vikings. And then it’s the team that shall not be named unless you say “Redskins.” There’s still a big heap of hoopla in regard to the offensiveness of that nickname and how it ought to be removed and changed. To this I say: No shit, Sherlock.
Lost and forgotten in all the hubbub is mine own groundbreaking work in this field from way-back in 1988 when I questioned the city of Cleveland’s baseball team’s use of the image of so-called Chief Wahoo—the wild-eyed, toothy, single-feather head-banded caricature of some kind of Native American. Offensive? No siree, some would say. It’s just our way of saying, “Thank you for the gift of your homeland, oh Great Red Man. In return, we shall show honor by making you a focking sports team mascot.”
Jeez louise, aren’t team mascots supposed to be testicle-chewing wild animals and stuff, and not Sapien beings? Hey, if you got a Cleveland Indians, how come no Chicago Polacks with a logo of a hammer smashing a thumb, or a couple, three guys with a light bulb and ladder? What the fock.
Yeah yeah, 1988 and newspapers are ancient history. The media-Internet biz these days is a young people’s game, what with their navel-gazing yet butt-boring blogs, their talismaniacal PodCast iPod YouTube Twit ju-ju voo-doo malarkey that’s deviously designed to disenfranchise the voice of the cranky old fart, an old fart who remembers well when the only cable a young person had came as a pair that you sometimes would attach to the battery terminals beneath the hood of your good-for-crap third-hand 1962 Rambler American ’cause you and the fellas had gone Downtown to sneak into the Princess Theater to catch the latest Russ Meyer motion picture and it was following the climax of Russ’s latest boobathon that it was discovered that the keys to the locked with windows butt-up-tight 2-door rustbucket decided to play hard-to-get, secure with their position in the ignition, that the motor was still running, sort of, that the switched-on headlights were a dim diminutive remembrance of their once-virile virility, and most importantly, the six-pack of Kingsbury that was to be quaffed over a cleavage-critique of Supervixens during the drive home was in the goddamn trunk, unretrievable and—seeing as all that (hold on, I lost my place—why don’t you go have a smoke while I insert a new paragraph).
Anyways like I said, the communication racket via this so-called “social media” seems today to be one for and by the young people and conservatives. And all I can say is “FU.” Maybe it’s time a guy my age ought to think about a second career, and I’m thinking about checking out the greeting industry. Cripes, how hard can that be, to stand at the front door of This-or-That Mart and eyeball the dregs of the hoi polloi as they meander by, so’s to alert security in the event that any one low-brow shopper should appear a little extra nutty.
And you know what? Given mine own legendary celebrity—I once shook the hand of funnyman Louis Nye; in 1969 Chicago, I was party to a nightclub performance provided by Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull and Savoy Brown for five focking bucks, Jack; with my own eyes from up the block, I saw Bob focking Hope enter the Mason Street entrance to the Pfister Hotel—I may even attract extra customers Ć  la shell-shocked former heavyweight champ Joe Louis when stuck at a casino gateway.
What savvy store manager wouldn’t want a guy like me cooling his heels by the store door, knowing it could mean an extra buck two-eighty in sales of batteries, diapers and cat food per shift-of-mine due to increased foot traffic? Hey, you tell me.
And then I’ll tell you that you don’t have to tell me that the craft of greetings-manship won’t always be one big piece of pie like a cakewalk on the picnic beach. My buddy Little Jimmy Iodine, who has dabbled in the greeting vocation, told me he once worked a joint down by there on South KK when this big-mouth, unattractive plus grouchy gal walked through the entrance dragging two kids and screaming obscenities at everyone within earshot. Jimmy says, “Good morning ma’am. Nice kids you’ve got there. Are they twins?” And this foul-mouth hag says to Jimmy, “Hell no. One’s nine and the younger one’s five. What the fock would make you think they’re twins. Are you blind or just goddamn stupid?” So to make the best of an awkward situation, Jimmy says, “Neither, ma’am. I just can’t believe you got laid twice.” Ba-ding!
Anyways, thanks to constant reader Ingrid/Mae as always, and now I got to go fill out some job applications, so see you around ’cause I’m Art Kumbalek and I told you so.

A Better Mount Pleasant Sends:

"Mount Pleasant’s millions in borrowing to support the construction of Foxconn Technology Group’s $10 billion factory there have led to a one-notch downgrade in the village’s credit rating over fears that the massive factory may not produce the economic benefits officials had promised."

When the bond rating goes down, the interest rate on the debt goes up and taxpayers pay the difference. The millions and millions of dollars borrowed for Foxconn (in addition the debt the village already has) just got more expensive.

The Land Speculation Lottery

Dear Village Board,

It is mystifying to me why Mark & Joyce Sonday were paid $800,600 for two acres assessed at $156,000 of (mostly) not needed property in Sturtevant to widen 11 and H. Why was this not left up to WI DOT - who could have just taken what was needed and not cost Mount Pleasant Taxpayers? YOU - the entire group - that's right - YOU - need to stop and think about this - WHAT BUSINESS DOES MOUNT PLEASANT HAVE IN BUYING Properties IN STURTEVANT to WIDEN ROADS? OH! And now you're going to sell the portion you don't need? Perhaps the Sonday's will buy back that unneeded land - but for a discount - right? You are out of control, in overreach, and your actions are questionably legal.

To make matters more interesting is that Mark & Joyce Sonday have a past relationship with your Land Speculation Expert - Attorney Alan Marcuvitz- who acted as their Attorney when they sued Pleasant Prairie CDA and WI DOT. It took years, but the Sonday's eventually won!

"In 2006, an arbitrator awarded Mark Sonday a $3.9 million settlement, ending the condemnation process and giving the family enough cash to move the museum and pay $160,000 in legal fees".

As so succinctly noted by Joyce Sonday:

"Museum owner Mark Sonday has been building his collection over several decades, originally showcasing them at a previous location in Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin (which wife Joyce Sonday now refers to as “Unpleasant Prairie”.)  Forced to move due to Pleasant Prairie using eminent domain to clear land for a retail development, the Sonday family became embroiled in a long legal fight to gain fair compensation for the theft of their land by the state".

So too, Mount Pleasant has morphed into “Mount Unpleasant“, and continues to beat and cheat Residents.

The cost for that bright shiny sewer only continues to increase with no relief in sight. Foxconn has changed it's plans - no Gen 10 LCD TV's - and admits it didn't figure in the costs of WI labor. By the end - you will have spent MTP dry - shackled future generations with an unfettered debt service, and be left with crumbling acres of concrete, asphalt, and steel.

Please join Cindy and I is JUST SAYING NO to allowing Governor Scott Walker, Representatives Robin Vos,  Cory Mason & MTP President David DeGroot to violate the Wisconsin Constitution (and their Oath of Office) by granting special rights to Corporate interests, stealing people’s property, destroying multi-generational Farms alongside an entire long established Community, loosening environmental protections, permitting heavy metals water pollution, instituting slave labor wages, providing taxpayer subsidies to multi-billionaire Corporations, and politician overreach.

Sincerely,

Tim & Cindy

Four for Fridays!

Good morning everyone I hope you made it through all that rain we had gotten and now you can enjoy the nice and cool weather. The only other thing we have now is the school buses in the morning and after noon to deal with since the kids have gone back to school this week. Here are your questions.

1) Do you watch football?

2) If you watch football which team is your favorite?

3) Are you on a fantasy football league?

4) If you are on a fantasy football league what is your team name?

I hope you have a great weekend!

A Better Mount Pleasant Sends:

Oh, look who’s out today fixing the thing that wasn’t really a problem? Hmmm. Maybe it was a problem after all.
After days of concern regarding storm water flooding, it took an 18 second video to wake them up. It shouldn’t have.
These companies are being paid millions of dollars to follow the rules. They are paid for their expertise - and it took residents standing in ditches with cell phones to prove they weren’t. Why wasn’t the village out there looking?
Claude Lois, Tony Beyer, Sonny Havn and David DeGroot for Village President told the community all the required elements of storm water management would be strictly followed.
Instead, a barrier that looks like it was built by children was constructed to prevent habitat killing silt from spilling into the Pike River - and when it didn’t work their response was to have the administrator forward a memo.
Not good enough. Not even close.

Law Professor Says Milk Is a Tool of ‘White Supremacy’

According to Gambert, milk is a “symbol and tool” of “white dominance and superiority.”
Milk is one of the most ubiquitous and heavily regulated substances on the planet – and perhaps one of the most contested. It is tied closely to notions of purity, health, and femininity, and is seen as so central to human civilization that our own galaxy – the Milky Way – is named after it. But despite its wholesome reputation, milk has long had a sinister side, being bound up with the exploitation of the (human and nonhuman) bodies it comes from and being a symbol of and tool for white dominance and superiority. The word itself, in verb form, means “to exploit.” It is also a word at the center of a decades-old, multinational battle taking place in courthouses, the halls of congress, on social media, and in the streets.
The crux of arguably the dumbest research paper that Breitbart News has covered is Gambert’s argument in favor of a widespread adoption of “mylk,” a plant milk replacement that she argues has the potential to cure society’s issues with bigotry and exploitation of animals.
The paper dedicates a significant amount of its whopping 75 pages to attempting to make a connection between the consumption of milk and bigotry against women and minorities. In another section of the paper entitled “Milk and patriarchy,” Gambert argues that the consumption of milk is directly related to the oppression of women. “A number of scholars have written about Western patriarchal society’s consumption of and relationship to milk as being “rooted in gender stereotypes, inequalities, and injustices,” she writes.
In another portion of the paper, Gambert suggests that the exploitation of cows by dairy farmers directly leads to the exploitation of women.
“Speak to your cow as you would a lady.” So went a popular motto among Wisconsin dairy farmers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. While seemingly benign at first glance, this motto is revealing for the ways in which the male-dominated dairy industry viewed both cows and human women: as fragile creatures requiring a particular way of being spoken to.

Committee defers decision on marijuana citations

From The Journal Times.com:

  • RACINE — A city committee had a lively discussion Tuesday with Alderman John Tate II from the 3rd District about his communication recommending that the City Council order the chief of police to issue all first-time marijuana possession offenders a citation, rather than face state charges.

  •  The Public Safety and Licensing Committee ultimately decided to hold off on making a decision until it received clarification from the City Attorney’s Office and the Police Department. But the conversation brought up issues and questions the committee will want to learn more about before making a decision.

The Common Council is lost on this subject.

    Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello, my little chickadees!  How are you?  Tomorrow's weather is supposed to be downright chilly.  Here comes autumn.  Ugh! Actually, I like autumn.  It's winter I hate.

Our Irregular Football League already has standings, even though we haven't played a game:

Who's on top?  The Mighty Bears. Nice going, Ms. Tender Heart Bear.  We'll see how things stand after a game or two.

Does anyone really know all the ramifications of the Foxconn installation?  Sometimes I feel as it' some sort of Frankenstein monster with mismatched parts is what will happen out there.  Meantime, when can we expect the project to be completely up and running?  When do we see 13,000
employees? When does some of the billions of dollars that we've invested start showing a return?

I know some ladies of the evening, working under the auspices of Madame Massa'ge, who are already planning to build a "love ranch" out there.  Too bad prostitution isn't legal.  The state is missing out on a huge tax income, just like with cannabis.  While these tax monies would solve many of our problems, don't hold your breath.  The powers-that-be are dumb as rocks.  All they care about is re-election.

Mr. Trump hasn't been too loud this week.  Maybe he's learning.  More likely, someone turned down the volume on his bullhorn.  He'll figure it out eventually.

Junior cracked up his car again.  I don;t know how many times this makes it.  When the whole driver's license  thing started up, I gave it all to SeƱor Zanza.  I told him that I want nothing illegal done and that Junior must have insurance.  How he keeps driving, I don't know, but I suspect SeƱor Zanza is supplying most of the $.

Downtown Racine wants arches.  How about collaborating with McDonald's and put up golden arches?  Of course, we'll need a McDonald's downtown somewhere.  Or how about fallen arches from walking too much?

Thank you for reading my blog today.  I appreciate it, just like I appreciate everyone who reads my blog.  Thank you.  Readers are my best friends.  I love you all.

    madamezoltar@jtirregulars.com

Enjoy the beginning of the end.  Maybe winter won't be too bad.  Ha!

    Off Sides

    From The Shepherd Express:

I’m Art Kumbalek and man oh manischewitz what a world, ain’a? So another Labor Day has come and gone—a day I spent in celebration of the American workingman by sitting on my ass in some clown’s backyard doing nothing except drink somebody else’s beer, what the fock.
Hey, is it just me or does there seem to be a lot of missing-persons reports in the news lately? Anyways, I’m reminded of a little story:
So this woman goes to the police station with her next-door neighbor to report that her husband was missing. The policeman asked for a description and the wife says, “He’s 35 years old, 6-foot-4, dark eyes, dark wavy hair, an athletic build, weighs 185 pounds, is soft-spoken and good to the children.” The neighbor says to the wife, “Wait a second. Your husband’s 5-foot-4, chubby, bald, has a potty mouth, and he’s mean to the kids.” And the wife says, “Yeah, but who wants him back?” Ba-ding!
Anyways, no time to whip out an essay this week. With only two months to go to the November election, I figure maybe it’s time to get off my sorry ass and do some campaigning if I’m going to take down Snidely Whiplash Walker and be your next governor. So I got to meet up with my campaign brain trust already gathered over by the Uptowner tavern/charm school, courageously crammed at the hysteric corner of Center & Humboldt. Tag along if you like, but you cover the first round. Let’s get going.
Emil: All I’m saying is I hear the words “back to school,” and to this day I still get the heebie-jeebies. And I’m a guy who hardly went to focking school even when I was going to school.
Little Jimmy Iodine: When I was a kid, those three words were right at the top of my hate list; although I tell you’s, “get a haircut,” “get a job” and “change your underwear” weren’t far behind.
Julius: I think it’s called Back-To-School-Syndrome, and it’s not uncommon among veteran survivors of the old-school parochial school system, I kid you not.
Ernie: I think I might have a dose of that syndrome. I always got this overwhelming urge to skip out of doing something I don’t feel like doing.
Herbie: Ernie, I’ll bet you a buck two-eighty that this need to skip out of stuff is some kind of misguided attempt to recapture the temporary joy you experienced as a lad whenever you skipped goddamn school. Yes, you were partaking in at-risk behavior, in that you could’ve been run over by a school bus while attempting to duck the truant officer. But big focking deal. Life is temporary. At least you would’ve died doing what you loved best—focking off.
Ernie: Heck, that’s got to count for something in the grand scheme of things, ain’a?
Emil: Any you’s guys see that story in the papers a while back that said, “Bedbug reports skyrocket”?
Ernie: I remember when I was a kid at bedtime, my Ma always saying, “Sleep tight and don’t let the bedbugs bite. And don’t forget to change your underwear tomorrow, for christ sakes.”
Julius: Sounds like an example of lazy parenting to me—like it’s some kid’s responsibility to not let bedbugs bite. You should’ve told her, “Bedbugs? I’m on top of it, Ma. First thing tomorrow morning I’ll call the exterminator, and then I’ll skip school and run over to Schuster’s and shoplift an airtight plastic bag I can wrap around my crappy old mattress, all because you’re just too busy doinking the mailman while Pop’s at work.”
Little Jimmy Iodine: Hey, Artie! Over here. Put a load on your keister.
Art: Hey gents. What do you hear, what do you know?
Ernie: I know I haven’t seen Ray since the Harley hog-riders blew back out of town.
Herbie: All I know is he made up a bunch of T-shirts and went down to the lakefront to sell them. Get this: On the front of the shirt Ray drew a Japanese guy like you’d see in the World War II patriotic cartoons, you know, with the military cap, the horn-rimmed glasses, the teeth. And he drew a word balloon coming out of the guy’s mouth that said, ‘Colonel Yamaha says Harleys are for homos.’”
Art: Good grief, you got to be jerking my beefaroni. And you’re surprised you haven’t seen him since?
Little Jimmy Iodine: That shirt’s got enough going on to offend just about anyone, ain’a?
Julius: Sure sounds to me like something President Nutbag would wear these days. Hey, maybe Trumpel-thinskin hired Herbie to be his new communication director in charge of pissing off everyone who’s not a focking Nazi. Make America hate again.
(It’s getting late and I know you got to go, but thanks for letting us bend your ear, ’cause I’m Art Kumbalek and I told you so.)

    A Better Mount Pleasant sends:

This is “Lake Foxconn” busting straight through its containment barrier and dumping directly into the Pike River - on September 3rd - not April or May when it really rains.
This kind of silt will not only destroy fish habitats put in place by Root-Pike Watershed Initiative Network, but is also in direct violation of erosion best practices put forward by the DNR.
If you live down river, you have good reason to be angry and concerned.
