Happy Solstice to ALL!

Roeknogize the Trew Sun King!

Harmon Settlement

Dear City of Racine Alderpersons -

Yet another OUTRAGE!

Approved by the Common Council....

Reports have it the Harmons will receive a pittance amount for the
wrongful death of their dog while the two law firms representing the
plaintiff and the city will cash in on a sweet Sugar coated deal, each
netting around $200,000.00 (two hundred thousand dollars each).

Estimates exceeding $400.000.00 (four hundred thousand dollars) to
settle the claim has been discussed and is in the works.

The pitance amount the Harmons will receive will be less than
$12,000.00 (twelve thousand dollars) for the wrongful death of their
dog, that amount includes pain, suffering, humiliation and civil
rights violations they endured.

LET'S DO THE MATH

+$400,000.00 dollars to the flea bag attorneys
for processing paper.

- $12,000.00 to the victims of the crime.

This is how injustice* is rammed up the ass of
 citizens in Racine county.

We ask the following of
City Attorney Scott Letteney;
Is this your sick sense of justice,
$400,00.00 dollars to the attorneys?

From the Racine Journal Times:
"It is far better to put this case behind us all, in return for this
fair settlement, than to allow the case to be a distraction."...Scott
Letteney

Let's see how this settlement works out:
Approximately 97.5 % of the payout goes to the attorneys and 2.5% goes
to the victims of the crime. Letteney has the audacity to call this a
fair settlement.

One outrage after another!

When will it end?

Sincerely,

Indications of more incompetence/collussion/malfeasance at City of Racine Attorney Office

Dear City of Racine Alderpersons,

*WOW* It is strange - but true - and WTF is happening - to make this happen?

AND - What's the Bearded Lady gonna do? (that's Trish Hanson - the Ham
Hanson - Racine County DA). And how is questionably competent City
Attorney City Attorney Scott Letteney and his potentially malfeasant
staff involved in this? (Yet, once again - I recommend you FIRE! the
City Attorney and his entire staff)

RACINE — A Racine family is pursuing a civil lawsuit against Tyrone
Buckley, the man who allegedly stabbed and killed Matthew Young the
day after Labor Day during a fight in a church parking lot.

The Racine Police Department found that Buckley had been acting in
self-defense and didn’t forward the police report from the case to the
Racine County District Attorney’s Office until 64 days after Young’s
death.

Buckley, who is a felon, was reportedly carrying a retractable knife,
which appears to be illegal under state law since it is a misdemeanor
for felons to be “armed with a concealed knife that is a dangerous
weapon.”

A knife to the heart: Questions remain after fatal September stabbing

“Keep in mind that the burden of proof is lower in a civil action, so
Mr. Buckley could be liable civilly, even if he’s not convicted
criminally,” Ken Yandell, an attorney from De Los Santos Law Offices
who has been hired by the Young family, said in an email.

The incident is reportedly under investigation once again by the
Racine Police Department and the Racine County District Attorney’s
Office.

Two separate law firms — including De Los Santos Law Offices — have
reached out to The Journal Times to receive a copy of the police
report the RPD provided in October, since department officials have
said the case has been reopened and thus they cannot share documents
related to an ongoing investigation.

District attorney reviewing Racine stabbing death investigation

In a statement, Yandell said: “The circumstances surrounding the
incident are highly suspicious. The Young family is frustrated and
deeply disappointed with their treatment by the Racine Police
Department and (Racine County) District Attorney’s Office. The RPD and
RCDA have kept the family in the dark for three-and-a-half months now.
The family requested, and was denied, documents related to this
incident. They were not given a copy of the 79-page report … The fact
that it took nearly two months for the police to forward a copy of
their findings to the RCDA seems unusual, given that a young man was
murdered in cold blood.”

Yandell added that the Young family never received a medical
examiner’s report from the incident. He also said that, after
receiving a copy of the police report from The Journal Times, “making
sense of it is challenging because it is so heavily redacted,” since
many but not all of the names mentioned have been blacked out.

“If Mr. Buckley is charged by the RCDA, I think a lot of our questions
will be answered,” Yandell said. “Likewise, if the RCDA closes the
case, and we are able to get an unredacted report and any other
available records, we’ll be in a better position to pursue civil
actions.”

*WOW* - Let us hope that the allegations - ONE AGAIN! - aren't true -
but most likely, City of Racine Taxpayers will be paying for more
legal assistance to clean up the mess.

Time after time - lie after lie.

(and) *FREE* Sandy Weidner! End the hate and oppression!

End the deception and lies.

Sincerely,

Tim & Cindy

Ziggy

To all the other drivers in the vicinity of Hwys 20 and 31:

FUCK YOU!

I usually drive the speed limit or 5 miles above.  But I'm not going to do 15 or 20 mph above the limit   You can ride inches within my rear bumper and I don't care.

I have seen some insane stuff on the hwys here.  Lots of red lights run.

Speaking of which, very early this morning I was at an intersection.  The lane to my left was left turn only.  My lane was straight ahead or right turn.  I was going straignt.  While waiting for the light, the guy behind me started beeping He had his right directional on.  Apparently, he wanted me to run the red light so that he could turn.  As I said above, fuck you!  When the light turned green, I took my foot off of the brake but didn't hit the accelerator.  I let it idle out.  The guy behind me was furious, leaning on his horn.  Ha ha!  Fuck you!

I'm tired of spending half my time waiting at stoplights and I'm tired of the idiots on the road.  The Christmas shopping season really brings them out.  My fix?  I start my shopping at 6 - 7 AM now.  Get it done quick and get off the roads.

I resent my dependence upon a vehicle here and need to learn how to walk again.  There's probably assholes on the sidewalks, too.

Four for Fridays!

Good morning everyone I hope all of you had a good week. It is the Christmas weekend and travels are going to be busy so I hope everyone stays safe. Here are your questions.

1) Do you have plans to travel?

2) If you do have plans to travel are you going to see family or friends?

3) Did you finish your Christmas shopping or is last minute shopping?

4) Do you enjoy the Christmas Holiday?

Have a Merry Christmas and be safe!

"Council approves Harmon settlement second time around"

From The Journal Times.com

RACINE — The City Council on Tuesday approved a settlement that stemmed from the 2016 killing of a family dog by police during a “no-knock” search warrant.
In a 10-2 vote — with ‘no’ votes from 6th District Alderman Sandy Weidner and 5th District Alderman Steve Smetana — the council approved a total settlement of $10,000 for the Harmon family.
In return, the family’s lawsuit against the city is to be dismissed with prejudice, meaning it can not be filed again, and there would be no admission of liability by the City of Racine or the individual officers named in the case.
“The City of Racine supports its police officers, who have a very difficult and potentially dangerous job to do every day,” said City Attorney Scott Letteney. “It is far better to put this case behind us all, in return for this fair settlement, than to allow the case to be a distraction.”
Smetana declined to comment on his “no” vote because the discussions regarding the case had been closed to the public. Weidner said that while she fully understands why her fellow aldermen supported the settlement, she is concerned with the message the decision to settle sends.
“I’m concerned with what settling it would do with the morale of the Police Department,” Weidner said. “When we continue to settle cases as we do, we look like an easy mark for attorneys that will take clients that don’t have a case.”

Why Everything That Needs To Be Fixed Remains Permanently Broken

Authored by Charles Hugh Smith via OfTwoMinds blog,

Just in case you missed what's going on in France: the status quo in
Europe is doomed.

The status quo has a simple fix for every crisis and systemic problem:

    1. create currency out of thin air

    2. give it to super-wealthy banks, financiers and corporations to
boost their wealth and income.

One way these entities increase their wealth and income is to lend
this nearly free money to commoners at much higher rates of interest.
I borrow from central banks at 1% and lend it to you at 4.5%, 7% or
even 19% or more. What's not to like?

If a bank is insolvent, it can borrow money at 1% from central
banks. If Joe Blow is insolvent, the only loan he can get is at 23%,
if he can get any credit at all.

    3. China has a variant fix for every financial crisis: build tens
of millions of empty flats only the wealthy can afford as second or
third "investment" flats. If the empty flats start dropping in price,
government entities start secretly buying flats to support the market.

    4. Empty malls, bridges to nowhere and ghost cities are also a
standard-issue fix in China. Built it and they will come, until they
don't. But who cares, the developers and local governments (i.e.
corrupt officials) already pocketed the dough.

You see the problem: making rich people richer doesn't actually
fix what's broken, it only makes the problems worse. So why can't we
fix what's broken?

It's a question that deserves an answer, and the answer has six parts:

    1. Any meaningful systemic reform threatens an entrenched,
self-serving interest/elite which has a tremendous incentive to
squash, co-opt or water down any reform that threatens their monopoly,
benefits, etc.

    2. It's far cheaper in cash and political capital to block
something than it is to push through a reform that reduces the skims
and scams of entrenched, self-serving interests.

    3. Entrenched, self-serving elites are disconnected from the real
world of the commoners; they live in protective bubbles, from
you-can't-fire-me job security to gold-plated healthcare to generous
pensions to access to central bank credit lines-- all of which is
unavailable to the commoners wearing yellow vests. As a result, their
grasp of the real problems is unrealistic, as the real-world
experience of the bottom 90% is an abstraction.

    4. Entrenched, self-serving elites are protected from the
disastrous consequences of their policies and self-serving greed. In
Taleb's terminology, they have no skin in the game: policies can be
complete failures but nobody's fired, and nobody's pay is cut.

    5. The Neofeudal "fix" to all crises, and social and financial
problems--enriching the already rich and empowering the already
powerful--signals the entrenched elites that the system is working
just fine: if it's working great for me and my cronies, so clearly
it's working great for everyone.

    6. The corporate media and the social media giants are entrenched
interests, and so it serves their interests to ceaselessly promote the
status quo Neofeudalism as the cat's meow and marginalize dissenters,
skeptics and reformers.

Just in case you missed what's going on in France: the status quo in
Europe is doomed. The status quo fixes of enriching the already rich
as the solution to every problem have gutted the social contract and
destabilized the economy. Giving more nearly free money to banks,
financiers and corporations is only going to speed the dissolution of
the Eurozone and the existing social order.

Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello, boys and girls!  Most of the snow has melted and there's no prediction of it for the coming week.  Maybe winter is over.  Who knows, with climate change messing things up?  A friend mentioned the other day tulips and the possibility that they would end dormancy early because of the weather.  I hate it when that happens.  The bulbs send up a shoot and then a frost kills it.  My advice if a bulb breaks dormancy and sends up a shoot: pile on the mulch.

By the way, Merry Christmas.  My next blog is scheduled for the day after Christmas, so I thought I'd say it now.  May all your dreams come true, and may a ton of love happen to you.  I  hope you get the toy you wanted.

The Green Bay Packers are a joke.  The most expemsive player in the league and they can't even make it to the playoffs.  I'll say it again: they should have kept Mike McCarthy and looked for ways to dump Aaron Rodgers instead.  The last few games mean nothing now.  It would be a good time to test the second string.  Someone might sneeze and give Aaron Rodgers pneumonia.  Better keep him off of the field.

Here are the standings from the Irregular Football League:

It looks like the Half-Astrophysicists won't take first place this year.  That will be either the Brooklyn Bombers or the Racine Irregulars.  The Mighty Bears might take third place.  I, of course, am in last place.   The Orbliterators are just above me, in 5th place.  Go get them Racine Irregulars and The Mighty Bears!

Here's a video treat from legal stranger:

Wouldn't it be something if the people of Racine rose up against corruption the way that the people of Athens did?  Chase the dirty politicians out of office.  Huh, then I think there would only be a few left.

I'm so glad that the appelate court sided with Sandy Weidner in the witch hunt by the city of Racine.  Let's sit on Letteny and shave his beard off.  I have a weed wacker that oughta work.

I love you all. May your holidays be blessed.

Be nice to each other and remember the reason for the holiday.  This is supposed to be a time of peace.  Let's make it so.

Calling JT Publisher Mark Lewis....

America's dying industries:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2018/12/18/americas-dying-industries-businesses-losing-most-workers/38693221/

8. Newspaper publishers

• Employment change 2008-17: -50.3%
• Employment total: 160,739
• Wage growth 2008-17: -17.8%
• Avg. annual wage: $32,765

Newspaper publishing is one of only eight U.S. industries that employs
less than half as many workers as it did in 2008. There are now just
160,739 newspaper publishers workers in the United States, compared to
more than 320,000 a decade earlier. While people still read
newspapers, many who do subscribe to the digital version, reducing the
need for those who print physical copies. Industry workers today are
making less money than industry workers in 2008. Since that time, the
industry's average annual wages dropped 17.8%, one of the larger
declines of any industry.

Blitzened Upon the Midnight Beer

From The Shepherd Express:

But before I go, I’ll give you’s a nice little retelling of a favorite Christmas story of mine that you can present to loved ones this season, perhaps in lieu of a regular gift, you cheap bastards.
So, one Christmas Eve long, long time ago, Santa’s getting ready for his yearly trip ’round the world like always, but he’s running into all kind of problems every time he turns around. All of a sudden five elves have the flu-like symptoms and are way too sick to work and the rest of the elves can’t pick up the slack, so now’s Santa got a case of the heebie-jeebies from being way behind schedule. Then on top of that, the Mrs. tells Santa that her mother was coming to visit for a couple weeks, and now he’s really in a bad mood.
So he goes out to harness the reindeer, and he discovers that three of them are about to give birth and another two had gone AWOL over the fence to who knows where. Now he’s really stressed out. And then while he’s loading the sleigh, one of the floor boards cracks, his big bag of toys tears, falls to the ground, and now he’s got toys all over the gosh darn place.
Santa’s really beside himself, so he goes back into the house for a cup of coffee and a quick shot or three of whiskey, only to find the bottle empty and now he knows why the elves were too sick to work. Then he accidentally drops the coffee pot, which shatters into hundreds of tiny pieces all over the kitchen floor. He goes to get the broom to clean up the mess only to discover that mice had eaten all the bristles.
And just then, wouldn’t you know, the doorbell rings. Santa goes to open the door, cussing all the way. And there, holding a Christmas tree, stands the chirpiest, most cheerful angel you ever did see. The angel looks up at Santa and says, “Hi ya’, Santa. I’m Harold. What a wonderful, wonderful day. Merry, merry Christmas to you, and look at this beautiful, beautiful tree I have just for you. Hey Santa, where would you like me to put it?”
And that is how the tradition of an angel stuck on top of the Christmas tree began. Ba-ding!
One more thing, for those generous souls who just may wonder what a guy like me would truly appreciate for Christmas, my wish list remains unchanged from any other year:
• A busload of Vegas showgirls.
• Case of Pall Malls and a boatload of Old Crow to wash ’em down with.
• My own private compartment on all buses that run the No. 30 or 15 line. (Hey, one of my favorite movies all-time is Todd Browning’s Freaks, but I’d rather watch it than be in it, I kid you not.)
So, there you go. Happy holidays, merry Christmas, joyous whatever-it-is-you-got-deserves-celebrating. And to all: I hope you get what’s coming to you, right here, right now, and I mean that in the best way, whatever that means.
So be damn sure to celebrate this holiday good and plenty. You just can’t ever be 100 per-focking-cent sure that it may not be the last one you’ll get; so make it a good one, what the fock, ’cause I’m Art Kumbalek and I told you so.

Fox Scam

Dear City of Racine Alderpersons,

When Mayor Cory Mason (D) - who has expanded the Mayor's office to 5 -
which the Common Council recently approved - in spite of my
objection.... acts in lock-step with out going and lame duck Governor
Scott Walker and Robin Vos - to approve the questionably legal
Foxconn legislation and actions - "for the better good" he threw his
cards in with Robin Vos, Scott Walker and the R's.

Then retired RPD Police Officers - double dippers every one of 'em -
show up in governing bodies of one sort of another.

Wahlen and Wangaard come immediately to mind.

A Better Mount Pleasant sends:

So much to unpack in this article about how a prepackaged Foxconn deal
was rammed through Mount Pleasant headed by David DeGroot for Village
President with only days on the job and a massive crush on both Scott
Walker and Donald Trump. Not only did he not know enough to even ask
questions - he wouldn't have dared to upset his political idols.

On a personal level, however...

This is a guy who sent out a press release which alleged I egged his
house - and even though the police report identifies the suspects as
four teenagers - he still maintains it could have been a political
attack. A single egg on his driveway.

This is a guy who said I used a profanity - repeatedly - during public
comments at a village meeting, which he admits he didn't hear. The
reason? Because I didn't. That didn't stop him from trying to ban me
from speaking ever again until I submitted a written and oral apology
to him first. Yes, Ew.

This is a guy who after he was censured for his actions against me (as
well as another resident and a village trustee whom he both threatened
to have removed by the police) began wildly ramping up the rhetoric on
the abusive hate website created to intimidate, humiliate and sexually
harass me and other trustees.

This website tried to have me removed from a community board of
directors, insinuated I was having extramarital affairs, announced a
fake meeting using my home address, and then someone associated with
it followed me to a restaurant and wrote about what I ate and where I
sat.

Why?

Because I have the audacity to ask questions and expect accountability
from my local government. Because - every so often - I am right and
people agree with me. Because I had the nerve to support candidates
for election David DeGroot and his friends opposed.

This isn't about the intrigues of local government and personality
clashes. It's about shutting me up and shutting down any effort to
question or criticize our local officials - by anyone.

This effort continues still by Village Hall staff who quietly solicit
my friends for assistance.

There has been, and still is, little disagreement that these actions
are disgusting, and at times, have been very frightening to me.
However, what it more frightening is that our village could be facing
two more years of this kind of embarrassment, incompetence and
intimidation.

For people who have tried to appeal for help from their village, who
are facing eminent domain actions, who feel they have been mistreated,
who are concerned about their property taxes, about flooding and host
of other issues - my personal complaints are trivial and utterly
irrelevant.

However, when the right to voice your opinion is intentionally
subverted through the means we have seen employed by our Village
President - unfettered and unchecked by his colleagues - we are all in
a lot of trouble.

Cindy and I agree with the conclusion - that we are all in trouble....
as Foxconn - in a recent meeting with City of Racine Water Utility
Manager Keith Haas - could not identify any products which it intended
to produce at the Mount Pleasant, WI facility currently under
construction.

Its all a lie.

Time to stop committing financial crimes against the hard working
people of the City.

Time to Stop. PERIOD.

And stop bowing down to the demands of Property Tax Cheat Mayor Elect
(or NOT!) Cory Mason...

Sincerely,

who are concerned about their property taxes, about flooding and host
of other issues - my personal complaints are trivial and utterly
irrelevant.

Nutjob and MTP President David Degroot is an even greater threat to Democracy that Boss Vos

Subject: From time to time....

Interesting...

Fer de Lance:

This briefing presents the basic concepts of Soviet scalar
electromagnetic weapons, some of the major types available, and
evidence of their widespread testing.

- Scalar Electromagnetics is Electrogravitation -

Scalar electromagnetics is an extension of present electromagnetics
(EM) to include gravitation. That is, it is a unified, and, what is
more important, it is a unified engineering theory. Its basis was
initially discovered by Nikola Tesla.

In the scalar EM extension, EM field energy can be turned into
gravitational field energy and vice versa. This exchange can be
patterned and localized. in specific areas or objects. Such a
controlled change of electromagnetics to gravitation is not possible
in the normal EM or physics presently taught in Western textbooks.
However, the bits and pieces of the theory have been scattered through
the physics literature for some time, but no orthodox Western
scientist seems to have realized that these anomalous portions could
be integrated into a startling new physics. Unorthodox experimenters,
inventors, and scientists have made discoveries in this arena for
several decades, but again have not realized the exact implications or
the precise manner in which their results could be combined with
present electrical physics.

SMOKING GUN: Hard Evidence Shows Camp Fire Was Manmade, Genocide and Mass Destruction of Paradise Carefully Planned

Impoverishing the Masses is Conservation by Other Means

PARADISE, Calif. — California utility Pacific Gas & Electric Co. is
asking for a rate hike of almost $2 billion from customers, saying
more than half will go toward wildfire safety.

In a proposal submitted Thursday to the California Public Utilities
Commission, PG&E is asking for $1.1 billion in new revenue in 2020,
including $576 million for the Community Wildfire Safety Program, $273
million toward liability insurance, and $209 million for core gas and
electric operations.

The proposal asks for another $454 million in 2021 and $486 million in 2022.

If the commission approves the hike, ratepayers could see their bills
jump more than $10 a month.

Californians already pay one of the highest prices in the nation for
electricity. According to the US Energy Information Administration,
last year’s average monthly bill was $101.49.

The proposal does not include money for potential claims from the 2017
and 2018 California fires, PG&E says.

A class action lawsuit filed last week accuses the utility of
negligence and poor maintenance of electrical infrastructure.

“Even though PG&E knew that its infrastructure was aging, unsafe, and
vulnerable to weather and environmental conditions, it failed to
fulfill these duties, and failed to take preventative measures in the
face of known high-risk weather conditions, such as de-energizing its
electrical equipment,” the lawsuit states.

Another suit calls the Camp Fire an “inevitable byproduct of PG&E’s
willful and conscious disregard of public safety.”

In a PG&E report this week, the company outlined employee reports of
damaged power towers minutes before the Camp Fire broke out. One
employee called 911 the day the wildfire started after spotting flames
close to a high-voltage tower in Butte County.

That was 15 minutes after a transmission line went out near that location.

On Wednesday, the state’s insurance commissioner reported $9 billion
in insured losses from the 2018 wildfires.

“The tragic deaths of 88 people and over $9 billion in insured losses
to date are shocking numbers — behind the insured loss numbers are
thousands of people who’ve been traumatized by unfathomable loss,”
Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones said.

The utility could see $26.5 billion in liability costs, co-head of
Utilities, Power Equipment & Renewable Energy at SSR, Hugh Wynne said.
It might be less if the company isn’t found to have started one or
more of the 2017 and 2018 fires.

Bare-Breasted 'Mariannes' Face Off With French Police; Tear Gas,
Pepper Spray Used On Protesting Yellow Vests

Week five of Yellow Vest demonstrations turned violent after
protesters in Paris began to scuffle with police.

Just under 70,000 police have been mobilized across France in an
effort to contain some 33,500 estimated protesters - a much lower
turnout than in previous weeks, while the Yellow Vest movement itself
has spread to several countries across Europe, as well as Iraq, Israel
and even Canada.

Meanwhile, in stark contrast to the bright yellow vests worn by most
protesters - a groupd of half-naked women posing as Marianne, the
Goddess of Liberty and a symbol of French patriotism, have faced off
with police in Paris.

Donning blood-red hoodies and coated in silver paint, the women paid
homage to the French revolutionary hero on Champs-Élysées avenue on
Saturday in a silent demonstration.

Seven people in total have died during the Yellow Vest demonstrations,
which has gone from a fuel tax protest to an anti-government movement.

"Last time, we were here for taxes," said 28-year-old called
Jeremy told the AFP news agency.

"This is for the institutions - we want more direct democracy," he
said, adding that people needed to "shout to make themselves heard".

Damn the Torpedos - FULL SPEED AHEAD!

Slash thinks rock music has been "dull and boring" for the last decade.

The Guns n' Roses guitarist believes commercial forces had a negative
impact on the genre as bands were pressured into making their songs
radio friendly rather than doing something new and exciting, prompting
fans to find what they're looking for in other genres such as rap and
hip-hop.

He told Billboard Radio China: "When Velvet Revolver came out, there
was definitely a movement that started in the early to mid-'90s that
held up all the way through the end of that decade and went into the
millennium. And so we came out and there was tons of new rock and roll
bands. And they weren't 'nu metal' and they weren't indie bands, but
there was definitely this kind of indie-esque feel to them.

"And I think one of the reasons that Velvet Revolver was as successful
as it was had a lot to do with [singer] Scott Weiland, because he was
still a holdover from that kind of thing, with Stone Temple Pilots,
that came from the '90s and blah blah blah. Anyway, but it was all
cool.

"And then, as we got down the line, it seemed that rock sort of got...
More than anything, the commercial approach to rock and roll that the
industry forces on bands, or forces people to think that this is how
they have to go about it to succeed, and it just turns into this
generic mishmosh that manages to get on the radio but doesn't really
turn anybody on, and it's just dull and boring and people start
looking elsewhere."

From the JT:

Local legislators split upon party lines regarding reaction’s to
outgoing Gov. Scott Walker signing the controversial
extraordinary-session bills in Green Bay on Friday, less than a month
before he leaves office.

The bills were passed in an extraordinary session in which Democrats
argued that the legislation reduces powers of the governor and
attorney general. In November, Democrat Tony Evers defeated Republican
Walker, and Democrat Josh Kaul defeated incumbent Republican Attorney
General Brad Schimel.

Republicans have argued that the legislation does not reduce the power
of the governor but rather makes the State Legislature a more equal
branch of government.

News media wins right to challenge open records case seal

  • Racine County Circuit Court Judge Eugene Gasiorkiewicz presides over the initial hearing for Alderman Sandy Weidner's contempt of court case at the Racine County Courthouse on Sept. 25. On Dec. 5, the Court of Appeals ruled that Gasiorkiewicz must decide which documents should remain sealed and which should be opened to the pubic after news media brought about a challenge to the decision to seal the case and triumphed.

RACINE — The Wisconsin Court of Appeals recently made a decision that could at least partially lift the veil of secrecy regarding an open-records case filed by Racine Alderman Sandy Weidner that was completely sealed to the public.
On Wednesday, Dec. 5, the Court of Appeals ruled that Racine County Circuit Court Judge Eugene Gasiorkiewicz should determine which specific documents involving the case, if any, should remain sealed.
The motion to challenge the case’s seal was brought by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, USA Today Network-Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council, the Wisconsin Newspaper Association and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.
“The reasoning behind the seal orders and open-records decision remains unknown to the public. Indeed, all pleadings are under seal, and even the docket is unavailable for viewing by order of Judge Gasiorkiewicz,” the motion stated.
The City of Racine opposed the motion. However, the Court of Appeals agreed that news media had the right to challenge the seal.

What a waste of resources.  Eugene and the bearded lady must go!

    Dear Madame Zoltar

Hello to all you Christmas elves!  How are you?   Well, I'd say we have a good chance of a white Christmas considering we had a white Thanksgiving.  When winters begin this early, they never pay off in the end.  Instead of stopping early, winter just drags on and on  I hate winter!

What the heck is going on with the Packers?  Firing Mike McCarthy is one of the stupidest things that they could do.  Did Aaron Rodgers can him?  If the Packers played better this past weekend than the previous one, it's because they have the fear of God in them now.  If McCarthy can be sacked, anybody could go.  So everyone plays a little harder. When you're up against a team like the Atlanta Falcons, it shows.  Let's see what the Chicago Bears do with such sn attitudr.  I predict another loss in Soldier Field.

The Irregular Football League is already in playoffs.  Here's this week's standings:

My team and Mr. OrbsCorbs' team were eliminated in the quarterfinal.  Boo!  Hiss!  However, we face each other in a fifth place game.  Watch out, Mr. OrbsCorbs, I'll cloud your mind.

Foxconn fever continues to grip the area.  All the empty buildings in downtown and vivinity have been bought, with the idea of transforming them into housing.  And then, of course, is the development on the old Walker Mfg. site.  It will be very intereting to see how all of this plays out.  Is it, "build it and they will come," or do you wait for possible tenants?    I have no idea.  I just don't feel sure in Foxconn's commitment to the area.  They've burned others. . .

How about them dirty rats moving to the legislature most of powers Governor Walker enjoyed?  What obvious corruption.  Everyone involved should be punished, starting with the Gov himself.  It's difficult to believe how nasty politics has become.  If you have the slightest blemish on your record, forget running for anything.

Señor Zanza and Junior have decorted our home.  It's beautiful.  Either Zanza or Junior has an artistic bent to him.  Check Junior's room if you think it's him. My boys spoil me by decorating the house and shoveling the sidewalk.

I hope that you have someone to share this special time with.  I love all of my readers and I love you.

    madamezoltar@jtirregulars.com

Try to enjoy this time of year.  Ignore the hassles with others and live Christmas in your heart. Remember what Christmas is all about.  The decorations and all are very pretty, but they're not what Jesus saw when born in a manger.  Give love for Christmas.  Give of yourself.

    A Better Mount Pleasant Sends:

    No surprise here:

Pinnamaneni’s interview with economist Swenson reveals his view that
the village is “betting the future of the town with money they don’t
have, assuming technology that they don’t understand and benefits that
are going to be distributed widely but not necessarily in their
    community. That’s a fool’s bet.”

By contrast, in the interview with David DeGroot, the Village
President offers a childlike exuberance for the deal, offering little
understanding of the impact on residents or potential financial
    implications.

Regarding his local delegation trip to Osaka, Japan, DeGroot says,
“I’ve seen the future, and it’s coming to Mount Pleasant.” DeGroot
describes the Japanese factory by saying, “It was big. It was massive.
There’s, there’s robots that are absolutely ginormous.”

A battery made of molten metals

New battery may offer low-cost, long-lasting storage for the grid.

A novel rechargeable battery developed at MIT could one day play a critical role in the massive expansion of solar generation needed to mitigate climate change by midcentury. Designed to store energy on the electric grid, the high-capacity battery consists of molten metals that naturally separate to form two electrodes in layers on either side of the molten salt electrolyte between them. Tests with cells made of low-cost, Earth-abundant materials confirm that the liquid battery operates efficiently without losing significant capacity or mechanically degrading — common problems in today’s batteries with solid electrodes. The MIT researchers have already demonstrated a simple, low-cost process for manufacturing prototypes of their battery, and future plans call for field tests on small-scale power grids that include intermittent generating sources such as solar and wind.

    No More Secret Courts

    Dear City of Racine Alderpersons,

It is time to end the lies and deception which City of Racine bathes in....

    From the Journal Sentinel:

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, other news media and open government
groups have won the right to challenge a Racine County judge's
decision to seal the entire file of an alderman's public records case.

A three-judge panel of the District II Court of Appeals this week
ordered Racine County Circuit Judge Eugene Gasiorkiewicz to "determine
which specific documents" from the record, "if any," should remain
blocked from public view, including the docket listing pleadings,
    orders and hearings.

The appellate court order notes that Gasiorkiewicz had sealed the
whole court record before deciding some documents in the underlying
action were privileged and some were not.

"It appears to this court that the circuit court's order sealing the
entire record is, at the very least, broader than necessary to protect
the interests at stake, given the presumption of openness in public
    records."

Once the case returns to the Court of Appeals, the City of Racine, the
original plaintiff Sandra Weidner, an alderman there, and the news
media will have 30 days to file briefs.

News media win the right to challenge secret Racine County case, appeals court rules

    From JSOnline:

    Dear Village Trustees,

Wisconsin Residents just don’t realize how badly they have been
scammed by the Republicans and Fox-Scam, and they should be
    *OUTRAGED*!

First, Foxconn said it would build a 10 Gen manufacturing facility –
but when Corning Glass didn’t agree to build a plant next door – it is
a requirement…. well, that plan got kicked to the curb. Note: Corning
Glass IS building the required facility in China.

Second, Foxconn admitted it didn’t realize that Wisconsin workers
needed to be paid more than the $2.50 per day that they pay Chinese
and Indian workers at their respective manufacturing facilities there.
In addition, the workers work 12 hour shifts and sleep in dorms at
    those manufacturing facilities!

Then Foxconn said it would produce 6.5 Gen screens in MTP – but would
heavily rely on robots and Chinese H1B employees. Later on, in a
meeting with the head of the Racine Water Utility, Keith Haas, Foxconn
couldn’t even give an answer to what they would produce at the
    proposed manufacturing facility!

Now – in Lame Duck session:

WEDC would use audit spot checks, business owners’ word to verify job
    creation under lame-duck bill

MADISON – The state’s jobs agency would rely on a business owner’s
word and outside audits of a portion of businesses receiving taxpayer
funds to confirm jobs are being created under the state’s tax credit
programs, rather than independently verifying all promised jobs, under
the lame-duck action by lawmakers this week.

Tucked inside a bill passed early Wednesday as part of a legislative
session called before Gov. Scott Walker leaves office is a provision
repealing a requirement that the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.
verify information submitted to the Department of Revenue and WEDC by
companies before providing them tax credits in exchange for jobs. The
bill was passed after an all-night session mainly out of the public’s
    view.

The proposed change comes after the agency has sought to overcome past
criticism over a poor track record in verifying the money businesses
get is actually resulting in new jobs in Wisconsin.

    https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/2018/12/07/wedc-would-use-audit-spot-checks-business-owners-word-verify-job-creation-under-lame-duck-bill/2239529002/

    This is an incredible *OUTRAGE*!

And don’t forget – that under Cap and Trade – Foxconn will be able to
sell it’s pollution credits! Pollution credits with lax guidelines and
little to no oversight given away by Cathy Stepp who is a former City
of Racine Developer, and DNR head under Scott Walker!

Cathy Stepp serves as the Regional Administrator for EPA Region 5. Her
responsibilities include overseeing environmental protection efforts
in the Great Lakes states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota,
Ohio and Wisconsin, as well as 35 federally recognized tribal
governments. One of her roles is manager of EPA Great Lakes National
Program, in which she leads restoration and protection of the largest
freshwater system in the world. Before joining Region 5, she was
principal deputy regional administrator for EPA Region 7.

Ms. Stepp served as the secretary of the Wisconsin Department of
Natural Resources from 2011 to 2017. As state cabinet secretary, she
led the third largest state agency with about 4,000 employees and was
responsible for state enforcement and protection of wildlife,
fisheries, state parks, trails, forests and environmental permitting.

Ms. Stepp also served as a Wisconsin state senator from 2003 to 2007,
where she represented nearly 160,000 constituents and authored and
advanced legislation on regulatory reform, job creation and other
issues. Prior to entering public service, Ms. Stepp owned a small
    business, a home-building company.

WI. Lax oversight of the multi-billion dollar give-away is just a
another feature of the Fox-Scam. Foxconn will sell those pollution
credits and let Beijing China choke in the smog! Better them than
    us....

Better have that Plan "B" (as in Bankruptcy) ready when the Fox-Scam
doesn't materialize to "Save the Day"!

    Sincerely,

    Tim & Cindy

PS: Our congratulations to Foxconn CEO Terry Gou - who proved that
Corporate Greed and endless devotion to Industrial Civilization would
    ultimately lead to collapse.
